Yoshihiro Naruse really showed up to the gig looking like someone’s dad in a polo and slacks, and proceeded to bust out the most the narstiest slap solo I’ve heard in a damned long time. Legendary.
That's Minoru Mukaiya, his solo stuff is just as killer bro. He did the OST for Sega Rally 2 as well so like look that up, and also Welcome to the Minoru's Land which is very good
The expression on Mukaiya's face when he played the solo from 1:50 is exactly the same as the expression on Jordan Rudess' face when he played his solo in Acid rain live. It's a strange similarity between great keyboardists.
so glad the youtube algorithm helped me discover Casiopeia. Every track/every youtube video i hear/watch gets better and better. I'm sitting here flabbergasted
Same! I just found them out about a month ago and decided to learn some of their songs, I posted a guitar solo from the 1979 midnight rendezvous casiopea album if you wanna check it out.
Good to see Mukaiya-san in this live performance! Would've been great to have Tetsuo Sakurai as well but its hard to deny that Naruse-san isn't an excellent performer!
Cas, and Jimbo, I thank you for that wonderful playing. This is a tight!!!!!!!!!!!band. I learned so much from you guys . And then I watched Jimbo on his DVD and dam! that's good stuff. Afro Cuban influence is what Jimbo talks about on DVD. Latin Jazz my you live for ever.
Return to Forever, Chick Corea, Level 42, UZEB (Alain Caron), Brian Bromberg, Jeff Berlin...and now Casiopea added to my list of influences. This is awesome.
I don't even know what to say. This guys always have me speechless. I wish they knew how much I love their music. Greeting from MX! They are freaking hella good!
Slap guitar’s always been in this song. Fun Fact: slapping was originally a guitar technique and then someone (can’t remember who off the top of my head) popularised it in bass playing
I just watched a man abuse an 8-string bass for five minutes straight and it brought me to tears I can only hope to play the bass half as well in my lifetime

Seriously.... I struggle with 4 strings and then see this MF with 8 strings on
Late 90s Casiopea were already in their dad phase
Yoshihiro’s energy is everything! Just found out about these guys. WOW! Super exciting!
Legend says that he had to stop the solo or else that stage would've caught on fire 😂
for a long time i thought it was tetsuyo sakurai in this concert and that he had just grown a moustache.
Akira Jimbo looks exactly the same now as he does in this video. He never ages.
baby face :))
he's stuck at the 90s haha
Well we could say something similar about Sakurai too. That man ages like fine wine
@@steffomca762 thats not sakurai, its yoshihiro naruse
🌾🍚🌾
the guy on the keys is still just as passionate as he was decades ago :)) nice to see.
he meant since the 80s till then and now lmao

He is also responsible for the jingles heard in Tokyo area train stations.

2:00
Haha keyboardist’s tend to do this expressions when they use that thing on the left to modulate the sound
Right into the insane pitch modulation with the wheel
Except that Mukaiya’s solos and playing are interesting to listen to and Rudess’ are not. Rudess is just a bunch of fast notes and crap.

DJ Samson been there myself, you’ll probably see some of my comments in other videos :D

スーパーテクニシャンバンド、カシオペア・・・。中でも向谷さんのキーボードがカシオペアのサウンドを作ってますね。彼無しのカシオペアは有り得ないと思います。

Love mark king and level 42
Akira Jimbo, the drummer, played with Bromberg also.
at 4:08 you can kinda hear naruse scream "YEAHHHHH!" at the end of his godly solo
I guess it sounds more like an "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA"
ありがとうございます。感謝します。向谷先生の作品は素晴らしい!

Fantastic musicians! That smoked!!! Reminds me a lot of Level 42 before they went commercial!

Thanks to your comment, I searched Casiopea Curtiba and came upon a clip from a performance (from 1988 though) that put a real smile on my face 🙏

Casiopea! Greetings from Brasil.
