KG was used SO wrongly in Minny....He was the modern day Bill Russell, with better offensive tools....consummate team player who was shoehorned into being a low post big man on offense....once he got very good offensive teammates around him (Cassell/Spree in Minny, the Boston crew), and you put him in the High Post, he was a Conference Finalist almost EVERY YEAR.

Marz, not gonna lie, this is the first time you've really made me think about something for a long time now. You said Jokic is the best player or top 3 of the last 20 years, and I said to myself, "Nah, you're capping." But then you said to think about it definitively, so then I thought, "Damn, this dude is right." Because the only two players I can definitively say are Kobe and LeBron, so Marz, touché, my boy.

@@retrey63 there is no argument but I see what you’re saying. I’m not saying anything offensively because I agree with the overall point of Jokic being a top 3 best offensive player I’ve ever seen. But his defense prowess hasn’t been tested recently because of how he has some of the best screen navigators on his team, so he doesn’t need to rim protect. I get not punishing him for that, but why not give KG the grace that he DID NOT have the pieces needed to be best he could be at his peak. Jokic has been blessed to be in a situation that allows him to flourish but certain guys who should be in the conversation were being slighted because Marz was ignoring the obvious team diff.
Second, Marz, I hope you see this and reply. But what you said about Tim Duncan and his offense, etc. Can I ask when I say Kobe was the best player in the world from 2004-2010 (and I'm being nice about that), how am I wrong? Because if you look at everything he could do on the offensive and defensive ends (plus some years it was just him until his team upgraded), how am I wrong when I say that?

As much as I’ve come to love Jokic, I want to see him vs Embiid for the championship. That to me will prove everything and more, when dudes start winning they become mythological and the glaze is scary.
But we have seen embid shitting the bed last year vs boston where he should have closed the series in game 6 or would've gotten them over the hump. I can't remember a series for joker where he was the reason they lost.

It could just be that Denver team is just better than the Lakers LOL; they have more depth and fit better together compared to the Lakers team. And at this point of Lakers replacing coaches you might as well let Lebron coach the team cause who they going to get to want to coach an aging Lebron that still wants control and a Anthony Davis who is 7ft and doesn't want to be a center most nights.
Of course they’re better but anyone watching the games can see the Lakers aren’t just a flat out worse team. One team has a great offensive playbook but goes away from it after getting a lead (Lakers). The other team has a good offensive playbook that they run throughout the game (Nuggets). The fact no team has surpassed their season averages in points is telling. Denver has shown no answer for the Lakers offensive plays when they actually run them. The real X-Factor is Nuggets have a higher athletic ceiling across the roster while consistently running plays for 48 mins.

He wasn’t in his prime and it’s wasn’t just Dwight it was AD aswell. Jokic cooks AD routinely and he’s a way better defender now than Dwight was in 2020.
