I trained in London 1970, 1971 and 1972 with him, in Christal Palace. He learned me Bassai Sho. And in kumite he called this kick gyaku mawashi or uchi mawashi. You, Armenian brother, were probably not born yet. I was captain of the Belgian National Team then. Kato Sensei was working under supervision of Enoeda Sensei and was JKA responsible for Scotland 🤜🤛
Gyaku Mawashi Geri and Gyaku Mikazuki Geri are two different things, just as Mawashi Geri and Mikazuki Geri are two different things: different trajectory, different striking part of the foot. Gyaku Mawashi Geri illustrated in Nakayama, “Dynamic Karate”, p. 158. Very clearly demonstrated here:
