The sense of humor when he's at comfort, the natural talent that makes it hard for him to explain how he does things, and finally and more important: the way he smiles. People love him for it, they can see the joy and playfulness, but on the other side they hate it when they see the frustration and complaining bad calls. I don't think you can get one without the other, I'm not sure I would like if he played as robot-like as Kawhi. He should absolutely work on controlling his emotions better, but it's sad if he loses the authenticity.

A lot of the old timers need to improve their argument when it comes to hand-checking and this video sums up why that is. More fouls are called nowadays and guys are shooting way more free throws. The fact that animating your body after any contact is referred to as "selling" should tell you everything you need to know.
JJ's argument makes no sense. Why would hand-checking lead to more fouls? If it's not a foul, it just means defenders will be able to prevent attackers from driving by, receiving the ball, which in turn allows them to close the shooting space. All of a sudden, shooting 3s becomes much more difficult, percentages drop, and the spacing disappears.

Hey JJ! Great show today, Its easy to get captivated in your eloquent way of speaking. I would like to add though that sometimes you get lost in it yourself or maybe its just you trying to get all your questions out since time was running out, but there were some parts were Luka was actually interacting/reacting jokingly and it was a bit brushed off like at 49:50 where it could've been the more "candid" part of a podcast and a way to bring out Luka a lil more seems very frugal with his words. Those kinds of moments while the camera is still panning at him then just transitions to a next question just feels flat and I thought it would be nice to let you guys know. Still an amazing episode overall! Loved seeing more of jdub too!
Such good feedback. And i want to add to it as a non-native English speaker myself, interviewing shy and non-native English speakers like Luka, it can get you deeper discussions and answers if you ask more detailed questions with simple language than broad questions like “how did last season feel” with convoluted language (to a non-native English speakers ears). Many of the questions JJ is asking here require Luka to speak quite advanced English off the cuff, and being more detailed in his line of questioning would help Luka out i think.
This is when JJ is at his best. Just high level hoops talk. All bussiness. Sometimes Gilbert does it and it’s great, other than that No one does this especially with high level players.

A lot of the old timers need to improve their argument when it comes to hand-checking and this video sums up why that is. More fouls are called nowadays and guys are shooting way more free throws. The fact that animating your body after any contact is referred to as "selling" should tell you everything you need to know.
JJ's argument makes no sense. Why would hand-checking lead to more fouls? If it's not a foul, it just means defenders will be able to prevent attackers from driving by, receiving the ball, which in turn allows them to close the shooting space. All of a sudden, shooting 3s becomes much more difficult, percentages drop, and the spacing disappears.
@@abuyusufabdulhakim952 because that hand being there is a easy thing to exploit by the skilled scorers in the league, swipe throughs and low pick ups would lead to sooo many free throws.
Luka may actually be underrated these days. He’s the only young guy on pace to actually surpass some of the legends (honorable Trae young mention necessary)

Hey JJ! Great show today, Its easy to get captivated in your eloquent way of speaking. I would like to add though that sometimes you get lost in it yourself or maybe its just you trying to get all your questions out since time was running out, but there were some parts were Luka was actually interacting/reacting jokingly and it was a bit brushed off like at 49:50 where it could've been the more "candid" part of a podcast and a way to bring out Luka a lil more seems very frugal with his words. Those kinds of moments while the camera is still panning at him then just transitions to a next question just feels flat and I thought it would be nice to let you guys know. Still an amazing episode overall! Loved seeing more of jdub too!
Such good feedback. And i want to add to it as a non-native English speaker myself, interviewing shy and non-native English speakers like Luka, it can get you deeper discussions and answers if you ask more detailed questions with simple language than broad questions like “how did last season feel” with convoluted language (to a non-native English speakers ears). Many of the questions JJ is asking here require Luka to speak quite advanced English off the cuff, and being more detailed in his line of questioning would help Luka out i think.
