I didn't know how much I needed this video. I've been focusing too hard on getting extended, m9 type chords. This left me just as fulfilled 👍🏼👍🏼 I tweaked it slightly....I strum the chord then do like a 3 string/note finger pick. On the third chord I pick the B note 5th string. Then on the last chord I pick the C note 5th string by wrapping my thumb to catch it.
I saw your video of strumming pattern ,which is beautifully explained with diagram. But surprisingly in this video you abstained from diagram of different chords as sometimes it's difficult to discern which strings are getting pressed.
For me this chord change actually is difficult to sound clean, my pinky and ring finger must lift off slightly and other than hurting my hand squeezing so tight i do not know what to do and i am getting frustrated, any tips
Relax your wrist more, minimum pressure with your fingers to produce the notes you want to. You have to really feel for it if your just starting. When I started having a stiff wrist was the worst part.
@@tannermcclellan3021 i've actually mastered this in the meantime! thanks so much! it's amazing how with time, laser focus with the mind you can train your fingers to stay put.
You can play Cadd9 instead of C Major in most cases but C Major will sound better in certain situations. But for starting out you can almost always sub Cadd9. Just use your ears and see if it sounds good to you in that particular situation. Thanks! -Chad
I am not blessed with long, slender fingers and just learning to play. I've found a slimmer necked guitar really helps the stretch, but im still not able to get a C major chord, so I use Cadd9. It does sound different, obviously, but you can get away with it. I still practice a C major every day though until I get it right. Once you hit a proper C major with fingers as far up on the fret as possible and without deadening any extra strings it sounds really nice and definitely prefer it. But for now, just to strum a tune, I always use Cadd9.
Look at my comment. I think that's what I did in fingerstyle. Add the C note by wrapping my thumb. But the C note is picked not strummed with the whole chord....if you do it makes the chord "too bright" for my taste.
OMG this is exactly what I was searching for
Its butter

Really hard to make a chord progression that hasn't been used before. But the melody and other elements can make it original. Thanks! -Chad

Em. Thanks! -Chad
Just wondering if i need to learn Cm or can i get away with only playing cadd9
Cheers Rob
Cm and Cadd9 are different chords. Cm is a minor chord and Cadd9 is a major chord. So you’ll need to learn both. Thanks! -Chad
I just re read my message, i meant C major not Cm to Cadd9

Add a little C at the end and boom chord progression lol
