    From a former-55kg adult, this is very relatable man. I’ve always been called scrawny my whole life, and it’s tough not to care about my weight but focusing on strength and performance helped a ton. Also knowing I can lift almost any adult to my shoulder has boosted my confidence. And as you’ve said, we’re training to be capable 💪💪

      Hell yeah that’s awesome! You’ve come a long way! It’s very difficult hearing something like that from your lady as well! Coming from being decent at barbell deadlifts, squats and power cleans. (Being able to lift more than my sandbag weighs) it would be questionable whether I could cradle carry someone out of a burning house. With sandbags, I know I can for sure and that creates a lot of confidence! 😆

      @John1mperial 3 дня назад +3

      @ for sure! Outside of actually lifting a human being (which would be difficult in training 😅), sandbags are the next best thing!

      Yeah I feel this, I was fukn scrawny kunt growing up and into teens…your head gets fucked up by people and society if you’re essentially told there’s something “wrong” or that you’re somehow inferior your whole life. At the same time, it’s good, rage and resentment are just fuel 🔥

      @@SandbagMisfit94yes, women are awful for saying heinous shit and then not taking accountability. My experience is, they’ll just down play it or pretend they meant something else when confronted 🙄 they can never admit to just being plain out kunts, they always gotta twist shit to suit their narrative… but that’s a whole other, deeper darker subject lol

    You are a wise man training for strength and capability. I was a competitive body builder at one point in my life. I was big, somewhat strong, but I wasn't capable of much because I had no mobility.
    I got into sandbag training because of your channel and the stone circle. I also started training for strength, strength endurance, and mobility. It's much more fun, and I now move much better. Keep up the good work.

    great video! your perspective aligns well with those aiming at longevity as well --> leaner, more athletic builds + the wide variety of movement pattens that sandbags, kettlebells, and calisthenics allow you to work through, frequently, seem to impact one's quality of life for decades !

    Couldn't agree more 👍There is no gym or calisthenics exercise (in my experience not even a muscle up) that would provide you with the same feeling of conficence and power that lifting a heavy sandbag to your shoulder does.

    Came across your channel yesterday while soaking up knowledge from the Stone Circle. Watched many of yours and believe you have a lot to offer as well. Your honest sharing is helping me learn.
    Kettlebells, mace, and heavy club have been my favorites for some time now, but the sandbag will be part of the game.
    Holy cow it’s humbling and I’m hooked!
    I’m always drawn to unconventional methods and train alone.
    What size and brand is this bag?
    Keep up the good work!

      That is a rogue 250lb funnel strongman bag. I’ve been training with it floppy at 200 for a month. Just added 20lbs to it and gradually filling it as I progress. I can max the weight of it out and make it weigh 299lbs though ☠️

      Thanks! I’ve scoured the web for every bag out there. Pulled my old DIY made from an Army duffle bag years ago getting dusty in a corner of my garage.
      Never used it much, but have a new understanding and respect for what it can do.
      Lot of miles on me at 60yrs, but always willing to learn. 100lbs on that bag is plenty for now, but a new bag & higher weight is in the future.

    Great video man! And yes, not just sandbags but I think general performance is a healthier mindset… rather than hyper fixating on one thing ie max strength or how big you are, if you’re also pushing conditioning, speed, agility, etc there’s always a way to feel progress which keeps the positivity up and obviously just makes you an all around more useful human, rather than a one trick pony ie power lifters.

    • @SandbagMisfit94

      What really deterred me from bodybuilding is the mentally unhealthy culture of obsessive body dysmorphia and obsession with macros and meal timing. Exactly right though!

    • @StopTheDamnTape
      @StopTheDamnTape 2 дня назад

      @ yeah man… I low key can’t stand bodybuilding OR powerlifting or any of that shit because they’re just steroid based sports. The standards are just irrelevant to natural lifters imo. I don’t respect “accomplishments” that fade without a needle, and all the top guys in those things prove my point time and time again.

    This is a good video. Last week I stumbled onto a subred and 2 physiques from 2 different guys (I think faces were blurred or left out) were being compared. Both physiques were far ahead of where I am at at the moment and quite a few commenters were choosing the one that had a v-taper, lats and side delts, flat stomach but lesser visible ab muscles like a calisthenics athlete while piling onto the other clearly older guy because he didnt have a v-taper although he had a thick strong core , bigger traps, six pack abs and looked like someone who had been lifting for a while and just flexed for a picture while he still had a pump from working out but was not as big as a bodybuilder just a guy who lifts. I was thinking both of these guys worked hard, are fit and healthy, and probably have different training methods leading to different physiques how is one better than the other, neither are bodybuilders and both looked really good.

      On top of that, I think it can be a very unhealthy community in the mental health aspect. Adverse things happen to me a lot like anyone else, I have to do a lot more than eat, sleep and train. And that pretty much applies to most common people. I don’t have time or the energy to worry about my physique. That’s going to come from just me training hard and being disciplined in the kitchen.

  • @patrickstar1439
    @patrickstar1439 4 дня назад +2

    At least you’re truthful about sandbag training.
    No one is going to look like a bodybuilder like the stone circle is saying on his recent video.

    • @SandbagMisfit94
      @SandbagMisfit94  4 дня назад +3

      Well my whole thing is to be real about it and show every side of it. My content and knowledge is based on my own experience, results and feel I get from training. Not based on research from someone else’s results. I have more of a functional athlete approach to it than bodybuilding. I’m never been interested in bodybuilding but more into training for sport and skill.
      I saw that video, sandbags are seen as just a conditioning tool in mainstream fitness, we’re proving that it can be a muscle and strength building tool as well! 💪🏻
