Cute seasonal table runners are the easiest way to update your table.
This simple yet charming red, white and blue table runner is patriotic and all-American. With a patchy stripe and a darling picnic plaid all made from a 5" Stacker, you can put this runner together in the morning and have it ready for an afternoon affair. Our cute cottage table runner is a fast and easy project you can create in time for your next country BBQ or family picnic. Think Memorial Day, Veteran's Day, and 4th of July, summer picnics and clam bakes.
Very versatile: can be completed with a 5" Charm Pack, a Jelly Roll, or even a 10" Layer Cake.
Approximately 14" x 52" yet adaptable to however long you need for your family get-together!
The fabric pack we used is an older group, it may be difficult to find, but almost any Red, White, and Blue group will work. We have a limited supply of the charm packs, at:

It saves a lot of fabric, and if you press the seam allowance open, there really is no difference.

I agree: true randomness hurts my head.
LOL! Every time I try "random" I end up rearranging them until they are an "organized scrappy".
And this is why my husband does the shopping, because I spend too much time "facing the shelves". LOL!
How great your table will look. If you needed pot holders or drink coasters, you could use any of your offcuts. Even your backing fabric is perfect.

At 26 minutes counting down you mention that you measure from the left since you are right handed and you don't want to cross over and cut.. I'm a new quilter and struggle with where the ruler should be, which side, which hand holds it and which hand cuts. I'm right handed. I think even I have my blade in the wrong side of my rotary cutter! Yikes. It's way more complicated than I thought. Thank you for this video..
Oh Gosh! There is so much to remember, but after a while it becomes second nature. If you need some help with something, let me know, I am happy to help. Cut runner but I’m confused why you cut the red 4 1/2” instead of leaving them 5” it just would have made the runner a little longer.
For sure! That is an option. But the runner was already much longer that what most people like; and for my table (not the one in the picture) I needed it about 3" shorter. If you want it longer, you can leave them 5", you can add more pieces; if you want it shorter, you can trim the pieces to 4" or leave out a row of red. That is the beauty of this runner, super adjustable for any table.
