I noticed that your Taipan Diamondback jigging rod has a very interesting handle color scheme. Is that standard on that rod or did you have it done after the fact? If so, by who?
Hey guys in chat, looking for a slow pitch set up for medium bluefin. I got the titan 6'8" heavy and Im looking at reels. Im considering the accurate 600nn. Is 300 yards of 65# enough for the >100 pounders?
I would say 300 yards isn’t enough. That would be fine for fly lining but if you are dropping deep and get hooked up on a big fish, you will get spooled. Get 800.
I bought an ocea jigger 4000 for same. Chk the specs. I spooled it with Varivas Avani SMP PE6 (90 lb) paired it with a jigging world ghost hunter 350 acid wrapped. Its a NICE set up & light & strong. I have 3 or 4 evergreen slow jerker poseidons but this rod is more appropriate for the task & far less expensive. Suggest you check out Captain Dom Petrarka's videos on jigging bluefin. Bluefin is all hes done for decades.
It takes a few minutes, thats why we have been using such heavy jigs so we get down fast. It's funny because after a few drops it's not that big of deal.
Get out yer' Seal-A-Meal! At $12.00 to $20.00 per pound for fresh rockfish fillets at SoCal fish markets, you guys scored several hundred dollars worth of gourmet quality fillets that should feed you for months! YUM! Point made: those deep offshore waters offer an EXCELLENT place to catch big rockfish ...without having to head south of the border! ;-)
Loved the video epic day and boat is very nice! Hey question so what fish limits on these rock fish! You guys sure caught allot and where did you buy your fish identification chart? Hey love your content, like hoe hyped up Kevin gets! Million Likes brothers
Thank for stopping by! Rock fish have a total limit of 10. Some sub speices have smaller limits, like the vermillion is 4 total. Some fish like yelloweye and cowcod have no take at all. We got the charts for free from a fish and game worker at the dock. I think you can get them from CA site for free
Kevin is always excited. Love it.

We have caught some huge Mexican rockfish on the lower finger/ banda bank in 800-900 ft. Great video.

Any deeper, probably 😂. 700-800 actually wasnt that bad
No way! Manual 💪

Two months ago but I just saw this vid. Not doing any better or bigger than my area that is only 250 to 300 feet. I really like that boat!!
Im not a big fan of Boccacio. They have an off odor regardless of how I cook them. Any suggestions? All the others seem fine.

Next weekend!
So sick!
what pound test are you guys using? thanks
30lb berkley x9
What part of California and how far out were you.
Epic day🎉
Cant say how far out but I can say...San Diego area (Mission Bay). Southern Cali.
What's your opinion on using wire to tie assist hooks?
I have seen it but haven't used it myself. Seems to work though, probably overkill for Rockfish.
@@SubmissionFishingCo yeah I agree I was more so thinking about trying to get on tunas with a little heavier set up.
Sweet!

That should be fine, I used a fathom 25 with 50lb and it handled them well
@@SubmissionFishingCo thanks for the reply. Great content keep it up.

Good work Gents. New subscriber
Welcome!
Are there any apps that I can use to look at what speed the currents are at?
I use tides4fishing.com. The tide Coefficient should give you an Idea of the current
Congrats brother can you give a general location?
That arima is killer!
About how long does it take to drop 700 ft? I usually fish in 300-400 ft with 10 oz and that seems way to long as it is :)

So you can fish 800 feet, I thought it was 600 max inside 100 fathom line right? What's the deal
