Hey guys... Great video. I am from the East Coast and am retiring in the Newport beach area in a few months and am trying to line up the best boat for your area and style of fishing. To me it was an oxymoron seeing you guys all dressed up and cold fishing out of San Diego. I am considering the weather now with my boat selection and would love to know which one you would suggest. Choice number 1] Lindell 38 pilot house.... Air-conditioned and he did for those longer runs which you mentioned in this video that you did. I thought heat and air-conditioning would be nice.... I'm 64. It also has a great cockpit area for lobster traps and extra room etc. TopSpeed about 50 miles an hour. the choice number 2 ] Nortech 39 super fish.... Plenty of room and set up for fishing and the top speed on this boat is 80+ miles per hour so I could cruise very fast on those longer runs but it is a center console with a good windshield but definitely more open to the elements in the colder weather. Which one would you guys go with.... Any comments from your subscribers would be great as well. Thank you for your help!!
Thanks for the comments, this video was from a few months ago so it was a little colder. With that being said, I live Coastal and haven't seen it it hit 80 degrees this year, and mornings are still in the 60's when I leave early I am still usually in a jacket! The pacific is much deeper than the Atlantic and much colder water so the spray and wind can get to you quick. I personally like pilot houses to stay out of the elements because I fish year round. If you only plan I fishing in the summer for tuna and Dorado the center console would be nice to go 80mph.
You guys got to put a dropper loop above the jig next time you slow pitch pitch chances up pulling up triples for sure went 2 weeks ago out of Long Beach happened twice and every other drop I would bring one up on the jig and one on top on the dropper loop
I think it can compete if it was for size. As far as quantity and speed. Not sure unless it's just jigs. A regular angler can haul up faster with a conventional reel and a dropper loop set up with 2 hooks. Shit in Mexico people use 3 hooks lol
He has returned! We missed you
OSS! nice job!
Nice haul guys. Congrats!
great vid! what jig is the blue one on 10:16? thanks!
The submission Samurai jig in frost bite 600g!

I don't usually rock fish but you guys make it look fun!!
Must have had tacos for days 😅
What gram samurai were you using? Im just getting into SPJ in San Diego and just found your website!
600g Samurai we were fishing like 750ft of water!
Great job guy’s 🎉
Nice Job! Way to slay. Am I trippen....why are the license plates and car emblems reversed at the end of the video?
what size braid are you running when you're in the 700+? i'm dropping 15# in 7-1400
Same, keeping the thin diameter in deep water is key when slow jigging!
cheee solid day right there!

Your boat muto or Kevin’s?
My boat! Kevin likes to drive home lol

This would work for sure, but in CA we can legally only use two hooks for rock fish! different story once you go into mexico though.
2nd place, not bad, you guys did get some hogs, Congrats !!!
