- Headed out to La Jolla with the Sea Samurai for some targeted rockfish and yellowtail fishing. No yellows today, but got on some monster reds and lingcod with the Slow Death Javelin 130g jig on my Phenix slow pitch and long fall rods. It was a nice warm day out there, and we got some delicious fish tacos out of it, so enjoy the show!

Just got some of your slow pitch jigs on your website! I started slow pitching because of you and you’ve helped me catch a lot of fish. Was cool running into you in sd bay a while back!
I remember that! Over near the police docks with your girl. Awesome. Meeting you
@@SubmissionFishingCo see you out there soon!

Great Video , Do you have a Bixby on your Hobie ?
I don't own one, Kevin was letting me try one out! They are pretty cool
Rock cod is my favorite one ^^ Your kayak is Hobie Mirage Pro Angler 14? Thanks
Yes it is.

Those are my dream kayak and fish. I’d like to learn from you some day. Be safe and enjoy fishing!
@@hanol5032 looking forward to it.
Did you ever figure out what was causing your kayak to take on the water in the hull?
Dope local Red action! Do you have a link for the ikejime tool?

Great Video as usual!! How do you like the Fathoms? 300 for SPJ and 400 for YT? Do you like them over the Okumas? OSS!
I have both the fathom and komodo ss in 400 Both are very good. For the bigger stuff a have a fathom 25n lever drag 2 speed. Though I think the 400s would do just fine foe a 25 lber.
What model fish finder are you using on your kayak?
I use a humminbird helix 7

Those were vermillion in my humble opinion.
Sorry if I didn’t catch it but how deep were you?? Awesome video btw
It was about 200ft
200 feet? And no descending device? Hmmmm…
Do you sell your jigs at any tackle shops or just online?
We are in many tackle shops in southern CA. Here is a dealer finder fishingreps.com/find-dealers/#fishingreps
Nice video Brother. I want to get that same ROD Phenix Long Fall 7’10” with a Tranx 401. If I may ask, what test like BRAID should I put onto the spool. Would love to let you out there someday soon. I have a Yamaha 3 seater that I just put Rocket Launchers on and I want to get out there where you were. I am a Retired IS MARINE. If I may also ask, where would be the best/closest place to launch my Jetski to get to LaJolla faster/easier. Thank you I’m advance Brother. SEMPER Fi

What's up Donnie! Thanks for the comment. I would recommend berkley x9 15lb for deep dropping. Your best place to launch is probably Dana Landing in mission Beach and then making your way north to LA Jolla. Good luck out there!
@@SubmissionFishingCo Thanks Brother. Maybe see you out there sometime. Semper Fi
I flirted with the state record vermillion last year fishing similar jigs, kayaking off of Sonoma Co.
hi i have never fished out of la jolla. have you got any pointers you would like to share. i just got a 22ft. v haul and would appreciate any advise on were to go. thank you.....
If you want calicos or sheephead fish on the edge of the kelp in more shallow water. For rock fish just scan your fish finder and move around slowly in the 150-300ft range when you find the bumpy Rocky ground, drop em down! Yellowtail and white sea bass are out there but get familiar with the area first! Good luck
@@SubmissionFishingCo thank you
We start at the green bouy in our boat launching out of Shelter Island and work our way North. You have a decent sized boat so your range is ok.

Fucken sick
Adults use the nonsensical childish trendy term " lets go"??? Since when. I am definitely going. Straight away from this trendy ism. No thanks.
