Finally a kit where I could consider going back to fpv flying on days when I cannot go paragliding. Small, quiet, no fear of loosing a lot of money when crashing, no beginner only mode, no wifi video transmission, sub 250g, easy setup and plug and play... sounds like exactly what I was looking for

Hello, could you do a review of the new HGLRC Petrel 85Whoop
Total noob questions, Has the circuit board been conformal coated for waterproofing, does it need to be?
Can a 2s drone be flown slower with a 1s batt or is that bad for a 2s?
Can a gps be added? like the Hglrc M100_Mini GPS for fail-safe?
I did not see any mention of any coating on the circuit board but pretty much all FPV drones do indeed have a coating on the circuits because FPV drones takeoff and land on grass… and grass is often wet. I fly FPV drones in all 4 seasons in Canada and land in snow all winter. Never have I had an issue with any FPV drone. As for battery, the answer is Nope… 2s requires 2s. You can add a GPS to any FPV drone running Betaflight configurator, but on something this small I’m not sure why anyone would bother.

It's telling you that the battery is "less than full" hence the < symbol. I always turn that warning off bc who cares lol.

Hey, I got the kit and I wanna upgrade the goggles with a patch antenna. How can I tell if it's LHCP or RHCP?
Normally you simply match the antenna on goggles to attenna on drone. So if drone has LEFT HCP then goggles need the same. If drone has RIGHT HCP then goggles need the same.
I'm many time playing indoors 3" 5" for test...so when playing on the field it feels very easy like expert😅😅
Any idea if there is a bind and fly option for this drone? I'm researching my first fpv drone and recently bought a Radio Master Pocket with ELRS to practice on FPV sims and is the only piece of FPV equipment I own at the moment . I would rather not have a transmitter and goggles Im not crazy about and would like to get a better set of goggles. I've debated the Tinyhawk 3 but from your review this looks like a great drone.

@@DS_Dronezone You can use ANY Analog Goggles... Just select a pair with a built in DVR. Your local hobby store will sell you some or you can shop on Banggood.

Probably, but you'd have to come up with a solution to hold them on.

My drone seems to lose its configuration after a reboot. The VTX always resets to 25mw. It doesn't matter if I set it in the OSD or in BetaFlight.
Any ideas?
You have to hit SAVE (bottom right in Betaflight Configurator)

Hope you’re doing well. There are tons of accessories for FPV Goggles in the way of head straps, but I don’t pay close attention to that segment so I can’t be of much help.

Ive been wanting to get a decent beginners drone that i wouldnt have to upgrade in a few weeks.lol I RC on a budget so most of my stuff is a little older. I saw you fly with the insta but im still using the session 5. Would this thing be able to fly with it? Probably not but im hoping. This looks pretty killer.
The communication is digital, but the video signal is ANALOG. Nope, it will not lift a Session 5.

Are you asking for a READY TO FLY KIT(RTF)? If so, Since you are asking it means you have zero FPV Drone knowledge or understanding. For that reason go with a very beginner FPV drone with prop guards, perhaps something like the CETUS RTF line or even AQUILLA16 version.

Probably not, he can’t use the headset and that the whole point to that set.
There are no reviews because that is an experimental product by BETAFPV. They are watching to see if, for the price, there is interest. They have not offered any reviewer a unit as there are only limited product, and no reviewer is gonna buy an expensive digital FPV drone designed for beginners that they would have no use for after the review.

@@hmike4 To pilot an FPV drone it takes skill. New pilots to the FPV hobby often want to fly like the people they see on RUclips and then are disappointed when they realize they can’t and they blame it on the drone. People that come from the DJI drone hobby actually have the worst pilot skills. If you have any doubt in your hand/eye coordination then don’t get this kit as it is the REAL FPV Hobby with no beginner assistance. But if you practice on a sim, then you’ll do very well.

It depends on your setup and battery used. This is the FPV hobby and not the DJI Camera drone hobby with a fixed range.

Crosshairs… I put those there. You can add/remove anything you wish in the OSD.
