If you're in the UK like me peak sun is between 11am to 3pm. Don't forget just because we're not a hot country generally doesn't mean you can't get burnt to a crisp when its hot and even when it's cool in summer some protection is still better because it can still do damage.

The best advice re: this I ever got was that every time you put sunscreen on your face, also put it on the back of your hands, and your neck and décolletage. sunscreen causes me to have breakouts. and I live ina hot and humid country so feel like they have started melting after I put them on. I'm always sweating.
This might just be because I live in New Zealand where the importance of sunscreen is much higher due to our very lacking ozone layer but if you can find the cancer society sunscreen (comes in a dark blue bottle) it's not too expensive for spf 50 and lasts a long time, also you can ask around when you're out on day trips and the like to borrow other people's, often I'll forget and just ask other people for thiers.
I always rely on Asian beauty products including sunscreen for this reason - great quality for cheap prices. The sunscreens I get from Korea are usually $10-$20 a bottle and they last me months. Makeup like brow pencils, eyeliners, blushes can go as low as $2. Obvi they can go way more expensive but the very affordable ones for great quality products, especially for sensitive skin types. The quality check for skincare is next level there.

I am SO GLAD I suffered through all the teasing for being so pale in my teens/ 20s! I just hated laying out or being in the sun much. My whole family was always super tan. I did try tanning beds a couple times but was too antsy to lay there for longer than maybe 5 minutes! I now look younger than those my age that did tan all the time😊

Can you recommend any sunscreens for people with very sensitive skin? When I put on sunscreen my eyeballs start to sting and water and I just have to wash it off again. I want to go outside on walks but I can’t wear any of the sunscreen I’ve tried so far so I just walk on the treadmill and don’t go outside, unless it’s nighttime…
also lighting and facial expressions. i am not going to shut myself in for 6hrs of the day to not age myself. who cares. aging is a natural process and beautiful. you will never be on your death bed wishing you stayed inside more. live life in joy, not fear.
Antioxidants like vitamin c for discoloration and vitamin b3 for the pores, retinol and sunscreen for sure. Other possible options I'd say peptides, but always focus on hydration and moisturize no mater what
I grew up in the tropics and inwas outside most of the time, i only put on sun screen if i go swimming and sometimes don't bother to reapply. I am now quite old and have an adult kid, but people tells me i look young, because no wrinkles until i smile. I also don't wear makeup only in special occasions. My mom who is in her late 60's is the same no wrinkles, mabye its genetics? but the less you focus on looking good the more time you have in making yourself healthy, and less worries the younger you will look in my opinion. So many people are so hanged up on their looks and have done so much damaged to their overall health. Eat a balanced diet, don't have vices and exercise regularly, and you will be a healthy and you skin will thank you dor it
I live in Norway do I need to use sunscreen everyday? All year round? It's common for people over here to take vitamin D tablets because we don't get enough sunlight.
I was a lifeguard for two years before turning 20, and I did just about the worst thing you could do which was lay out in the sun all day with tanning lotion. Now I’m 22 and I put on sunscreen everyday and try to cover my body but I’m scared the damage is done
The thing for me is, when I have my make up on, I always think it's impossible to reapply the sunscreen because it'll ruin the make up. But I know I need to reapply every 2-3 hours to keep my skin protected. But the make up... any tips?
Can you explain the effectiveness of the sunscreen spf etc I don’t understand which one to buy for my skin or how to choose on I’m near 30 years old and I’m ashamed I’ve never learned how to care for my skin properly
While I understand all this is true and I followed it a little too religiously... only to find out I'm vitamin D deficient. Like severely deficient so now I gotta sit in the sun without sunscreen and what not. It's such a delicate balance I guess but i would like to have some sound advice on how to achieve that balance between sun protection and vitamin D absorption...
If you can’t avoid the sun, get a visor hat. Wear it regardless of whether you think it’s not the right ‘occasion’ for it, you can just take it off when you go inside.
But if you still have some pigmentation spots do what ??? What really works? Because I have tried like million different laser treatments and I just wasted money 😢😢😢😢
It's crazy to me that when foreigners go to my country, they willingly dangerously bake their skin in the sun, I've also observed most of them don't apply sunscreen, when going out to buy something or for a walk, they also don't use umbrellas. Then you will hear them complain why it's so hot and how their skin was burnt. Like bro, what do you expect in a tropical country during summer?
I have adhd one of the main things* that's in my way of wearing sunscreen often is that i've always hated the feeling of when sunscreen gets grainy and icky and all that jazz anywhere on my body, especially my face. Any recommendations?? (*and the occasional (read: frequent) lack of motivation to shower)(i have curly hair too)
Im like 15 now and as a southeast asian, the sun can be THAT bad 😭 Literally my face doesnt match color with my neck and shoulders it's insane. I've used sunscreen, especially the 50SPF ones to not make it worse, and i tend to double cleanse and use little bit of skincare (like exfoliating and 3 steps of toner, serum, moisturizer) It hasn't been a whole since i cared for how damaged my skin is, but I've seen progress! And thank you for letting me know that UV clothing exist 😂
Freckles are genetic and caused by a gene that makes them when exposed to the sun (but babies can have them too) it's just little melanin spots. So although its caused by the sun it's not necessarily sun damage which are seen in sunspots
i want to start using retinol cream at night, but im wondering, does it make your skin sensative to the sun the next day after you wash it off and put on sunscreen? i know it makes it sensative to the sun so thats why you put on retinol at night, but does your skin stay sensative throughout the next day? because if so then i want to know so i can avoid the sun the next day.

oh my god, just remember we would all be dead without the sun, no food ,no life,
I’m sure just using sunscreen isn’t the reason she had those results
Yes, laser was done, lipfillers and something around the eyes, the eyebrows are much higher in the second photo. She should be honest with us.
i mean it is HER patient so
She said she looks younger once she got her skin even out . The poster stated this in the video. The point of the video is to stress the important of sunscreen so that we don’t end up with sunspots like that patient
What did she have done to her eyes??
Blepharoplasty?? Mini pony tail face lift??
@@melaniejaramillo6534 It looks like a standard brow lift to me because not only are her brows lifted but even her forehead looks shorter!
I wish I could wear sunscreen. Their prices are exorbitant in my country.
Any natural and prescription recommendations for melasma?
I can't stay away from the sun, i love it tok much. Id rather have uneven skin and be happy
I have and do all 3 of these. I’ve worn sunscreen everyday for the last 20 years. I’m 57 now. I look like I’m in my 40’s. I still have some hormonal hyperpigmentation that is stubborn but it is Half of what I had. Tretinoin is now a routine for me at night.❤❤❤
Do you have any recommendations for sunscreens made for kids?
How did you get her pores to completely blur out ? Recommended products pls
I keep getting these kind of videos...
I live in Iceland
I LOVE THAT GREEN SHIRT U ARE WEARING OH MY GDNESSSSSSS
One of the most beautiful doctors I have seen! Love her!!!!❤😊 sooo smart! ❤
there’s a filter
In conclusion, be afraid of the sun.
Shireen... Love u✨🌹🌷☺️
It's so hard to be motivated to wear sunscreen all the time when 75% who advocate for wearing sunscreen always tell you to do it for aesthetic reasons rather than health reasons.
(Yeah, I know she mentioned the skin cancer, but I'm talking about my general experience regarding this subject.)
Sun umbrellas need to be more common in the states
Please share what procedures were done by you too please. That pic was such a ray of hope seriously... and if that was not shared by your account, then it would have been unbelievable
The patient looked older not because of the uneven skin tone, but because she was smiling in the first pic and had visible wrinkles and smile lines.
And that awful makeup look everyone was doing 10 years ago
Also the lighting was quite harsh and in the second picture the lighting is softer. I always look younger in soft lighting.
Would've been better to use similar lighting for the second photo.
Right that's exactly what I think too
You look Amazing in that color!
Would you recommend a clean line of cosmetics?
How does one get their daily dose of vitamin D though if they're slathered in sunscreen? Also, what times are the best to do that?
Some of us were set up😂 "you need to get some sun, you need to burn a little once to protect you from other burns" but I've done well since entering my 20s and now I'm in my thirties. Honestly what turned back the clock for me was nutrition/cutting back on drinking and OMG serums, I wish I had serums sooner!!
Be aware that the uv protection in clothing also wears out! They usually have a number of wash cycles that the uv protection will last.
How can I repair my skin after alcohol abuse? Thank you
Try black cumin seeds. Nature blends sells a good one.
I am SO GLAD I suffered through all the teasing for being so pale in my teens/ 20s! I just hated laying out or being in the sun much. My whole family was always super tan. I did try tanning beds a couple times but was too antsy to lay there for longer than maybe 5 minutes! I now look younger than those my age that did tan all the time😊
You gained a dedicated fan ❤
I liked that you used yourself to point to and circle the pics 😂😂😂 floatin around.
Rainbow necklace details please!! Its gorgeous
Should we wear sunscreen at home? Do we need to repeat it every other hours, even if we do not go outside?
Any sunscreen recommendations for mixed skin that is prone to acne with oily products??
Especially for the face, asking for me
Your necklace is gorgeous! Please share details!
Yes agreed! But WHAT DID YOU DO for her to reverse the damage!! It’s amazing!!!!!
that's good info for future protection & not making it worse - but how do we fix what's already there? preferably without expensive derm appointments and endless lasers. are there any good skincare, etc, type methods?
What kind of treatment you had the patient do ? It's effective. I would like to do the same .
What would you use to treat wrinkles and larger pores from sun damaged skin?
Antioxidants like vitamin c for discoloration and vitamin b3 for the pores, retinol and sunscreen for sure.
Other possible options I'd say peptides, but always focus on hydration and moisturize no mater what
Niacinamides
I grew up in the tropics and inwas outside most of the time, i only put on sun screen if i go swimming and sometimes don't bother to reapply. I am now quite old and have an adult kid, but people tells me i look young, because no wrinkles until i smile. I also don't wear makeup only in special occasions. My mom who is in her late 60's is the same no wrinkles, mabye its genetics? but the less you focus on looking good the more time you have in making yourself healthy, and less worries the younger you will look in my opinion. So many people are so hanged up on their looks and have done so much damaged to their overall health. Eat a balanced diet, don't have vices and exercise regularly, and you will be a healthy and you skin will thank you dor it
This sounds like absolutely obsessive behaviour
Totally obsessive...🙄
“Wear the DAMN sunscreen” was the SOLE reason that I hit subscribe🤣
I did not protect my skin as a teen but I had depression and didn’t leave my house besides school so every situation has it’s good side I guess😅
Thank you Dr. I'm learning a lot from you, I'll buy clothes with uv protection 😊
Love your necklace ❤
I hate the feel of sunscreen.
You're still very young. Your skin does bounce back. You just have to protect it the best way you can from now on.
You'll be fine
at what age should we start useing spf 50 everyday on face? Should we put it on our kids everyday?
The thing for me is, when I have my make up on, I always think it's impossible to reapply the sunscreen because it'll ruin the make up. But I know I need to reapply every 2-3 hours to keep my skin protected. But the make up... any tips?
What kind of treatment u gave her?
Which sunscreen??
Dr., do you get patients with significant sun damage on their arms from driving a lot? I'm looking at mine since I drive for work 2 days a week.
Can you explain the effectiveness of the sunscreen spf etc I don’t understand which one to buy for my skin or how to choose on I’m near 30 years old and I’m ashamed I’ve never learned how to care for my skin properly
The entire time i was looking at your necklace 💖
When someone makes an affordable suncream in the UK for melanin queens, I'm here for it!
What eyeliner do you use ?
If you can’t avoid the sun, get a visor hat. Wear it regardless of whether you think it’s not the right ‘occasion’ for it, you can just take it off when you go inside.
But if you still have some pigmentation spots do what ??? What really works? Because I have tried like million different laser treatments and I just wasted money 😢😢😢😢
I use to get burnt all the time when I was a kid but I barely went outside when I was a teenager. Atleast I wear spf now lol
This is prevention and totally support it, but how do you improve hyperpigmentation due to photodamage? Your opinion on IPL, hydroquinone, retinoids.
(*and the occasional (read: frequent) lack of motivation to shower)(i have curly hair too)
What is the best sunscreen for Extremely sensitive skin Especially for the face?
Im like 15 now and as a southeast asian, the sun can be THAT bad 😭 Literally my face doesnt match color with my neck and shoulders it's insane. I've used sunscreen, especially the 50SPF ones to not make it worse, and i tend to double cleanse and use little bit of skincare (like exfoliating and 3 steps of toner, serum, moisturizer)
It hasn't been a whole since i cared for how damaged my skin is, but I've seen progress! And thank you for letting me know that UV clothing exist 😂
Why do retired surfers look so good then?! And live so long?! Genuine question, not trying to be facetious.
What's the difference between freckles and sun damage?
Freckles are genetic and caused by a gene that makes them when exposed to the sun (but babies can have them too) it's just little melanin spots. So although its caused by the sun it's not necessarily sun damage which are seen in sunspots
Freckles are there from a young age, sun damage is freckling that only appears from prolonged sun exposure
What sun protection do you use for hands?
i want to start using retinol cream at night, but im wondering, does it make your skin sensative to the sun the next day after you wash it off and put on sunscreen? i know it makes it sensative to the sun so thats why you put on retinol at night, but does your skin stay sensative throughout the next day? because if so then i want to know so i can avoid the sun the next day.
Do you need to use sun protection as well if you’re not going outside at all?
OK but actually where can I find your top ? I don’t like green but I love that shade of it
Have you seen the studies comparing the effects of sun on people's skin when they consume a s.a.d. diet vs a healthy diet with no seed oils and lots of fruits and vegetables?
