I have a fuel pump delay I designed myself. My car starts normally, but if a hidden switch isn't pressed within two minutes of the car starting, the fuel pump shuts off and cannot be restarted for five minutes. I figure that way the thief probably already has the car on the road nearby and in view of the public when it stalls on him, and he'll probably just abandon it where it is. The thing with theft deterrents isn't to make your car impossible to steal, because where there's a will there's a way. The thing is to make your car more difficult to steal than the one parked next door.
This delay is better for us here canada because we have to remote start the car to make the engine warm during winter. I hope you post a video on how you did it.
Believe it or not some people have the gall to have your car towed away like its being repossessed. Once they get the vehicle they will take care of kill switches, alarms and etc.
At this point a tracker, kill switch and a law enforcement grade wheel blocker/tire clamp. Seems the most effective combo. I want to see them tow a car with front and back wheels blocked. But sadly when a thief really wants something they will scout it first and come ready for it. Even that effective idea only works against common scum.
Got my shit stolen in California and found it with an AirTag and it ended up being right by the Mexican border. Drove it home like a boss and took it to an audio shop right away to get a kill switch installed.
@@carlfalk7251Tags do work, but in case the thief is extra cautious and looks for one, make sure to have 2 or 3 taped under the vehicle or very inconvinent places
This happens a lot ... they stage the cars at the border and wait for their "amigo" border guard to come on duty. Sometimes they find them before they cross over, because they're gone after that.
If only the vehicle could be given a key or something that lets the owner be the only person able to start the vehicle. How about doing a field test? Install kill switches on all WREG vehicles & leave them unlocked while the crew is off doing their story.
@@lanceboullion9888I serviced mine at a Toyota dealership and the only tech that knew how to drive it was an 19 year old girl,, Lol they were all pretty young though,

Yes they do work , most thieves won’t take the time to look for one . 901 sounds is garbage . I took my corvette to the last year and had them tint the windows , they destroyed my paint. They tried to lie but it was all on camera . I wouldn’t never do business with that place
A 5 pin relay that directs the starter solenoid feed to a horn when the key is turned works a treat. Put a hidden momentary switch in to activate the relay before turning the key and the car starts as normal. Also leave nothing in your car and don't lock it and you will also escape the broken window!!
I have a steering wheel lock that cost less than $20 and I put it on the back of the steering wheel so nobody could possibly drill it off (or at least I don't see how they would be able to). You could also just pop off the top of one of your spark plug covers when you're leaving your car for the night. Makes it undrivable.
How about a removable steering wheel that also has a sensor to findout it's original steering wheel is on. It can start, but it wont let ya change modes to drive/reverse. Especially locking the brake in
Need secret hidden gas supply kill switches installed , so if the car gets car jacked you push the button before giving up car , and car will only travel maybe a block or 2 before dying out from lack of fuel .
There are so many places you could install a killswitch on a car that a common thief isn't gonna sit there for 10 minutes trying to trouble shoot the ignition problem.
Does anyone realize what our society has come to be in North America? The real issue is having to put a remote switch in your car to begin with. We are too soft on most all crime now!!!!! Vehicle theft is illegal and needs to be punishable by hard chain gang labor!!!!
Had vehicles with kill switch and the three attempts at stealing them all failed but they are charging way too much, it only a little wire and a switch maybe only 2 or 3 dollars worth of material.
On those really old cars having a kill switch for the ignition won’t stop the professional in any way. Starting the car from the motor is maybe even faster
Unless the kill switch stops the engine from running in a more indirect way. I mean at this point in time, any savvy thief who knows to expect a kill switch and how to bypass it will almost always assume it's tied into the ignition circuit.
A killswitch in the Owner's key. So when they get in and turn the ignition on, that will start the car. And thats when the owner has their key in the ignition/inside car. A thief wont be be able to start it without the actual owner's original key. And finding the kill switch won't be in the car
Wanna bet? In the 'old days' (1969-1980's) when all there was was the ignition lock, thieves yank the lock cylinder out of the column with a dent puller and start the car with a screw driver.
Let's just go head and warn them about what we got planed sounds like a great idea bet they looking for that Ford now if they haven't found it already. Poor customer reviled his secret .

$250-$350 for installing a $5 switch in 20 min.

Exactly
It takes 30 seconds to set a broken leg. But it'll cost you thousands of dollars...I guess the doc is a thief also!

if they get past my kill switch and disabled fuel pump i have a tracker, trust me i care more about my truck than they do.

Nothing can fully prevent your car from being stolen. But kill switches significantly reduce the chances it will be stolen.

if a thief wants a car he will get the car no deterrent is 100% but it will slow them down.
