Thanks for watching. And don’t forget to subscribe!! - Авто/Мото
Simple key seems to be smarter than these new so called smart features.
I have after market alarm installed on my Toyota 4Runner and still to unlock & lock it
Just more dumbasss features nobody wants...
They will break your ignition coil which is worst caus that sheet cost too much and the damage is worst.
I did it, pressed the lock button once & at the same time pressed the unlock button twice & it worked. Thank you so much 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Got my 2019 Toyota RAV4 stolen in 30 seconds last week so anyone watching this that has pay attention! Was so shocked on how fast but now this makes sense. Thanks for the info.
Great video. Very useful info. Thank you for it. Another thing that would help prevent vehicle theft is longer prison sentences. Put the thieves in jail where they belong!!
Makes me want to stick to a key! LOL, seriously, thanks for this lesson.
But then they just use a screwdriver. Ask me how I know.
Tried it just now its working…thank you very much for sharing this key tips… keep on sharing buddy 👏👏👏👍👍👍
You have to do this every time it does not stay unactivated
This is great information!! I am locking my key all the time!
The information at the end was informative. Thanks for sharing
WOW what a really helpful video with a great paced explain & demo :-) TVM from Leeming Bar in UK
Great video, works for Lexus as well, Thank you!!!
Awesome 😎 videos you’re putting out!
I would like to buy a vehicle from you! You know a lot information for the vehicles sold!
Thank you sir
Thanks Marcello, very useful tip. Continue the good work! 👍👍👍
Thanks 🙏🏻
Old school key less headaches in many ways
My Toyota Rav4 limited 2019 and we thank you...
I did buy RFID pouches and even a box...but this is a helpful addition
I have a 2018 Toyota Corolla SE with that key fob. However, it is not standard equipment. It came with part of the optional premium package. It is standard on the top level XSE trim
Great video Marcello, keep up the great work!
Thanks for the tip. It’s great at the gas station because I lock the car while pumping, but my fob would let anyone in anyway.
Thank you for sharing this video Sir.
Awesome video. Thank you!
Just fast forward to @6:30 and save your time!
Awesom lesson well done superb
OK that’s great info. Now what would be the next line of defense to keep your Toyota vehicle from being stolen?
That was well presented👍🙏
Just tried it, it worked, thanks Marcello!
I just had my Lexus RX 350 stolen June 4th parked outside my house. 99% of the time it is in my garage, however, I had my driveway paved & left my RX outside for 4 nights! The dirt bags must have done exactly what you described in your “tube!” At the time I did not know how to deactivate the key fob from the car! Nevertheless, I believe that Lexus/Toyota should. E doing more @ the design, manufacturing level to combat this problem! It is absolutely ridiculous that “dirt bags” can steal these automobiles so easily! Now, if I purchase another RX, I will have to be concerned about same “dirtbags” or different “dirtbags” will do the same thing & steal my replacement. I am in quite a conundrum as to whether to get another Lexus or just purchase an older used car that no one wants to steal! This is what our country is becoming!🇨🇦
I know man. My brother in law has his tundra stolen off his driveway… it’s sad. But right now, they’ll take anything. With new vehicles so hard to get. They are even taking corollas. Try pulling the fuel relay when you park the truck overnight. It cuts the fuel to engine. They stole like 100 cars in Scarborough one weekend… unfortunately if they want it, they’ll get it
@@ToyotaWorld I saw something on the tv news recently about thieves have learned how to use a USB cable to steal your car! I didn't see the whole thing, so I don't know how they do this, do you??? Why doesn't Toyota DO something about this horrible problem?
Typically. Manufacturers can’t do much about the continually evolving theft of vehicles situation. They do their best, but only so much they can do. If they solve one problem, another will be right behind
@@ToyotaWorld Ok and thanks for your reply, God bless!
@@ToyotaWorld Typically? Sure auto theft is & has been a problem since the beginning! However, this is not a typical auto theft. It is the keyless entry that makes them so easy to steal.. That is a manufacturers, problem & design flaw!
Why don't they just put a on/off switch on the side of the fob.
Did you say the effective range for smart entry is 500feet? The information I got is the smart entry works if the distance between the key and your car is around 15feets… a bit confusing for me now…could you please provide some information? Thanks.
It doesn’t stay off you have to do it every time
Good Info!
Thanks Bossy🙏
Car have two key. so, There is required for both remote key deactivation ? For safety purpose?
Great video .
Which Rav models have the door sensors lock and unlock?
Everything XLE
And up
As far as I know it's not that easy, the signal from your key works to open the car but you need the actual key to turn it on, because it's not the same signal, and there's other features that's the car computer check between the real key and itself before starting the car. So, they may be use this system to open the car but then they have to do something else on de OBD 2 system.
So do you need to do that every time or is it a one time thing? You said just clicking lock/unlock immediately reactivates the frequency
If I just use the old-style non-electronic key only, will that help?
I have a smart fob to get in and out but my car still takes a key to start the ignition. It’s def not completely smart like my Nissan was actually thats probably the only thing that was smart about my 08 Nissan. Could this “turning off your fob” method still work with my 21 corolla fob?
WOW!! UNBELIEVABLE
Thanks for the video, seems odd that Toyota would put out something so flawed.
They want the car stolen so you need to buy another one from Toyota!:). Too bad I got my second Toyota already 😢
How about unlocking the door on the other side of the vehicle? Can you do it without opening the door and employing the lock release?
The smart key system is the only thing that puts me off buying a Rav4, but then all the alternatives use them too! I much prefer the ‘old fashioned’ key start/remote that came with my 2019 VW Golf!
It’s ridiculous that Toyota UK’s advice is to get a steering wheel lock, I haven’t needed one of those since my old 1980s Mini! Smart keys have created a problem that didn’t exist!
Can you just disable the promity unlock feature for the foor handles?
Buy a steering wheel lock and use it every time you park your car if it has keyless access !
Does Rav4 Hybrid LE has a push button start? I thought it's key start!
You didn’t show how to start the engine with the Hard Key, if the fob battery was dead?
Is this still an issue with 2022 Toyota key fobs
Hey Marcello thank you for the video i just bought a 22 toyota highlander xse and i have a big wind noise is that going to be easy fixed at the dealership.
Bring it in. Could be something simple like a weather strip. Or maybe you have crossbars on? Those cause a lot of noise
Thank you
So are you saying that you have to constantly do the trick and deactivate to get inside the vehicle?
If thefts press the button on their copied key, will they restore the keyless entry function?😢 I’m worried about this
Weird this is titled and filmed exactly like @BrianRuperti video on his channel! 🤔
i wish you could do this permanently and use it as a regular key, i hate these stupid modern features
Thats why you get lower trim when purchasing a vehicle.
you actually can. Just use the key for standard entry, and touch the start button with the fob to start the car
wish there was a way to do this permanently
I wish so too, this is an annoying feature
Take the battery out?
My grip unlocking is not functioning any idea how to solve this issue?
Can this happen to 2012 rav4?
Wow didn’t know Ross left FRIENDS and is a car salesman now!😊
I have never been told by Toyota dealer when I took my RAV 4 XLE '22. Probably of the covid-19 at that time it just told me to read my ownership book.
So for now I am more aware what to do with my new car. I thant that Toyota dealer greatly.
Okay but I don't like the fact is that it activate itself again how do you deactivated permanently so all you have to do is press lock and unlock to open the door what's the two buttons on the remote like the older vehicles had it on the key lock and unlock that's the best way to do it is there a way you can get that done these new trucks with the push button thanks?
It works on Toyota rav4 le 2019?
Thank you sir! SKOL!
Does this work for 2022 rav4
can i disable this system and the push to start system completely while keeping the lock and unlock button working on key?
That’s basically what I do, except push button is only way to engage ignition: took battery out of fob, use slide-out key to enter, then hold fob (w/ no battery) to start/ stop button, press start button to start. Just don’t lock your key in the car old school because you’ll need to get it out likewise! (AAA, tow truck driver, etc)
Thx
Thanks 🙏🏻
Thank you for this, just went through the steps with my 22 4runner..... it works and I will be doing that with my FOB everytime I get out of my vehicle now. TOO... Protect your catalytic converter from the douche bag thieves, there is a company called MillerCat .... they make catalytic converter shields for Toyotas out of Aluminum and Stainless Steel. SKOL!🤘
Fob got locked in my 2018 tacoma off road, why?
Do you have to do it everyday?
So once you re-activate the fob, I assume you have to disable it once again so it doesn't always transmit?
yes
@@repentjesusiscomingsoon1529 Dang-it!
I tried it and it works.
Perfect!!
Da Club should do the trick.
I wish toyota would be like nissan where i could leave my car on and still lock my doors or I could autostart and not have it turned off when I open a door
so Marcello you have to deactivate the key fob every time you leave your truck ,anyway of keeping it deactivate?
No unfortunately not
Does Toyota have a key fob system that have the proximity sensor turned off and yet still acts like a regular key fob? That way it will never unlock itself when you get close.
Disabling the key fob doesn’t really solve theft issues if the thief just waits until you re-enable your fob to capture that remote signal. I think old school Toyota key fobs make more sense. Want to unlock? You have to push the unlock button doesn’t matter if you are close or not. Will Toyota ever go back to this system?
Could the key fob be modified so that pushing the button is mandatory to unlock the vehicle? It would be an extreme hassle to repeatedly disable the continuous key fob transmissions. It seems like a brain dead design that key fobs are designed so poorly that make the vehicles much more vulnerable to theft for the slight convenience of not having to press a button to unlock your vehicle.
This is root of the problem. Unbelievable
I have a same key fob for my 2012 highlander
Just tried this and it didn't work.
Same thing with Estima
The best way to protect your car is to buy keyless protector
What’s that?
Thief's can steal those frequencies to steal your car using a repeater box
Does it work on Lexus RX
Y
Is it possible to deactivate the modern convenience and only use the key instead of the buttons so no one can get your info and leave battery out of the thing and let nobody access your lock with high tech theivery so you dont have to deal with that BS tech stealing?
Tin foil hat for the key fob sounds like its not gonna work.
Does it disable your alarm when u do this because I went out there and my doors was still lock.
Did you resolve this?
@@Josh_James76 yes I did thx for your response it works perfectly have a good day.
@@rodneydavis8454 you too
Nice does this work on any vehicle
Should on most push start vehicles
It works on my 2022 Subaru Legacy as well. Something I was not told about when purchasing at the dealership. I had to research it on my own. Being will all the current car jackings, at least in my city, it certainly comes in handy
Is there an alarm to deterred catalytic converter theft?.
No but there is a shield you can buy that covers it
It's best to just not buy any vehicle that has a "smart key" or push-button start.
Who asked for this system?
😂
Hell, who asked for the iPhone, smart electronics, etc. that chip coming next ❌
forget that!. Im just going to buy a used car with conventional key start. Thanks for saving me some time car shopping.
'
thats not the only way they get in. they can brake the lock on the door and get in and reprogam the ecu to get control like they did with my 2022 highlander platinum, the also tried to disable the antenna so that none of the signals would go back to Toyota HQ so he vehicle could be tracked
Should have never done away with using keys alone to crank the engine. Perhaps they could create a faster short signal range where it’s too fast to be detected by just touching the handle. Like lighting speed that can’t register if not on the handle. I guess that’s getting into fingerprint detection. Allow programmable prints. Leave the long range code that only locks. So two separate codes. How are these dealerships not getting robbed blind?
i have a 2018 Toyota 86 with push button start. You're incorrect on the range of the key fob, if that was the case i wouldn't have to go get my keys from inside the house 15 feet away to open my car door.
I think I'll just lock the car and get on with my day. Live in fear of losing a car if you want to.
Eight minutes ? ........ Really ? This guy sure likes the sound of his own voice .
Should be a recall on all keyless cars/trucks and have key systems installed
It’s a proven system, it’s not new technology it came out like 12 years ago
I've tried this on an older Toyota and it does not work 😢
But all the thieves are watching this video….
Install a gps unit in your car.
Thats wht im doing. Just going to have the drive connect from toyota and use that if its stolen verses wrapping stuff in tin foil or having to press a bunch of buttons everytime.
Can we just get a key? Good grief. The 'convenience' isn't worth the risk..
So why didn't Toyota make the RFID disable permanent by pushing the buttons? What a pain to play with buttons every time you park your car.
I have a key 🗝. No push button to my 2018
Aren't you from hermiston?
What’s that
@@ToyotaWorld its a town in Oregon 😂
I didnt know where the dealership was but that solves that question!
Ah. We are in maple. It’s within Ontario Canada
@@ToyotaWorld will this work with the Hyundai genesis sedan vehicles
Go to 6:35 to see how to do it.
Can you show how "easy" is to copy the signal
"I'm definitely not a car thief"
Doesnt work for 17 lexus GX
If you have 2 fobs I presume you would have to deactivate both fobs at the same.
