Now it's time for a LIVE Q & A. To kick things off, I asked Laura McCabe about her traveling years - and the most memorable meals she had on the road.
In this short PREVIEW video, Laura describes a meal experience she had while in rural Ohio - rather, a meal she avoided. While in Ohio to teach a beading workshop, she stayed with a kind-hearted local family whose meal preferences included local, wild-caught animals such as racoon, groundhog and squirrel. To Laura's host family, these animals provided delicious sources of animal protein untouched by antibiotics - and raised by Mother Nature in the sun. Although Laura understood on a conceptual level - she wasn't prepared to dig in! Rather, she was fascinated by regional differences in American cuisine - and dinner menus she'd never heard about. During her LIVE Q & A, the only questions Laura WON'T be accepting concern particular pieces of beadwork you're making - or a beading technique that you're having trouble with - because she can't do those questions justice in this format.
But ask Laura ALMOST ANYTHING else - and she will gladly answer. For example, you could ask her how she got started beading, which beading teachers she most admires, what is favorite beading technique, and so on. You get the idea. Be creative.
For this LIVE Q & A, Carole Tripp of Creative Castle in Newbury Park, CA will be my co-moderator. Carole and I will be reading questions aloud to Laura - as many questions as we can fit into a 1-2 hour session.
