I miss this president. I am a Republican. I may not agree with everything Obama said, but he always showed respect to everyone which made him well respected by everyone. This to me is what a president should be about. Trump is always calling people names and putting people down. I thought Trump would change, but I was wrong. Trump is not a good role model and I regret ever voting for him.
I’ve been trying to understand the mindset of people who voted for him in an attempt to grasp how this happened a little more. I’m genuinely curious when I ask, what was the main motivation when you went to the ballot box knowing who he was in the past and who he was not? Understanding this, to me, means viewing a blind spot that may or may not exist politically.

I didn't vote for President Obama in 2008, by 2012 I had learned that this man has the courage, intelligence and tact so vital to being the leader of the free world. His class, patience and demeanor, in the face of conservative hubris and fabrications, have left me with a deep, abiding respect for this gentleman. He was the best president? That's funny, I seem to recall him causing the deaths of not only Americans, but others in foreign countries as well. Syria, Yemen, Somalia, Pakistan and don't even get me started on Lybia where his administration decided it was a good idea to abandon a US ambassador and his security detail while they were being killed in Benghazi. I also seem to remember him pulling troops out of Iraq after being warned the country was not ready to stand on its own two feet, creating a pocket and making room for ISIS to organize and not only take control of most of Iraq, but also become a global threat. I also seem to recall him negotiating with terrorists and releasing 4 high ranking members of ISIS in exchange for a single US troop that deserted his post. As a veteran I have been told many times that the US government will not, under any circumstances, negotiate with terrorists. I guess all of that goes out the window when you have a weak leader at the helm!

I remember him vilifying the Ferguson Police Department after that thug (Mike Brown) was shot by one of their officers before an investigation had even taken place. Riots, episodes of BLM gone wild, cops were being hunted in other states...but then all the sudden we find out the man really did try to take the officer's weapon, but too late! I miss this president. I am a Republican. I may not agree with everything Obama said, but he always showed respect to everyone which made him well respected by everyone. This to me is what a president should be about. Trump is always calling people names and putting people down. I thought Trump would change, but I was wrong. Syria, Yemen, Somalia, Pakistan and don't even get me started on Lybia where his administration decided it was a good idea to abandon a US ambassador and his security detail while they were being killed in Benghazi. I also seem to remember him pulling troops out of Iraq after being warned the country was not ready to stand on its own two feet, creating a pocket and making room for ISIS to organize and not only take control of most of Iraq, but also become a global threat. I also seem to recall him negotiating with terrorists and releasing 4 high ranking members of ISIS in exchange for a single US troop that deserted his post. As a veteran I have been told many times that the US government will not, under any circumstances, negotiate with terrorists. I guess all of that goes out the window when you have a weak leader at the helm!

I remember him vilifying the Ferguson Police Department after that thug (Mike Brown) was shot by one of their officers before an investigation had even taken place. Obama, Al Sharpton and many others were speaking as if that officer had already been convicted! Do you remember what happened then? Riots, episodes of BLM gone wild, cops were being hunted in other states...but then all the sudden we find out the man really did try to take the officer's weapon, but too late! The media began showing every interaction between black men and cops they could get their hands on, race relations have never been the same. Oh and how about when Obama attended the memorial of the 5 or 6 police officers that we killed in Dallas during a peaceful demonstration, and instead of sticking to a memorial he took the opportunity to speak about police brutality and race relations? Absolutely disgusting, not the time or place for that!

I think is meaningful that Obama's last moments on this impromptu press conference were spent talking about his family & his daughters. I already miss his thoughtfulness and intelligence. Listening to that last sentence when he wished those journalists good look sounds very prescient in light of what we've been experiencing these last few weeks.

President Carter and other leaders, orchestrated freezing Iran's money and assets. During Obama's administration, a court order was handed down, to return the money and assets to Iran. Trump is the single worst president in the entire history of the presidency. Obama is a far classier man, and was a far better president than Trump is.

If you can live with this kind of collateral damage you are a monster. If anything Obama and Bush have shown to the world how untrustworthy the US is and how corrupt and criminal the US government has become. Even a hospital was bombed on one occasion, who was held accountable? Was oops really enough in this case? Also what did he do to prosecute Bush, Bush ordered the torture of people, locked people up without trial. These are war crimes. It is easy to think they were just terrorists, but if people did not even have a trial how can you be sure. Also if you invade their country and they fight back can you really call these people terrorists at all? Certainly if later it became clear the reasons to start the war were all based on lies. Obama did nothing to investigate or hold people accountable, he even protected the criminals. I expect he was well paid for it. What a nice guy right, wrong!!!!
