- This is my 1999 Suzuki RMX250 dirt bike that I'm rebuilding to be a road legal rm250 replica! In this episode of the RMX250 build I install the engine, modify the wiring harness, get all the lighting and dash sorted and get even closer to having this road legal motocross inspired bike done!
Great work Jack, i have enjoyed watching this build. Really good work, big thumbs up from me.... Waiting for Ep.7
thanks mate!
Hey mate I’m getting a 99 rmx 250 on Thursday I have some questions about where to find parts and stuff
I use eBay, Facebook market place and a local Suzuki parts dealer.
fantastic man, such a clean build
Glad you like it!
Build is coming along nicely, Trail Tech makes a billet guard for that speedo that does a good job of protecting it in a crash as they are quite vulnerable without it, I found that out the hard way, it's not cheap but it's cheaper than buying another speedo and doesn't add any more bulk to the unit.
thanks for the advice mate, I might look into getting one
It's all coming together mate 👍
thanks mate!
Awesome Jack
thanks for watching Craig!
Looking forward to seeing it run. The part of the engine casing where my sproket cover bolted on broke off.
thanks for watching!
Your doing great. Keep up the good work.
Thank you! Will do!
i wish you kept the old headlight nonetheless good vid.
yeah I can see it from both perspectives, the original headlight suits the age of the bike, but I personally want a more updated look, thanks for watching!
Superb set of vids - really well done, really comes across well & loads of good info in these high quality programmes and in the comments (that I hope to use for my 2000 Japanese market RMX)...
BUT ...!
It all looked so close, yet RUclips's telling me the last one was three months ago...!
Did it seize immediately?!
Yeah I haven’t uploaded in a while because the build still isn’t finished, between waiting on parts, lockdown & saving money to afford the build it’s taking some time. But the bike is currently at the dyno so I will hopefully have another video out in a few weeks. Thanks for watching
I have a 97, the last of the 51hp models before they dropped them to 40hp. Already had fmf fatty and silencer when i got it too. Wanting to do the fork and tree swap to USD's so thanks for the info as to a model that will be an easy fit.
no problem mate, thanks for watching
Mantap Jack ❗✌🏻
🙌
Looking fantastic,, Did you coat the pipe with anything or just bare metal?
its been coated with ATF, needs to be re-applied after every wash so it doesn't rust.
@@jackkellybuilds Thanks ill try that,,
Hey bud your videos are awesome, I’ve got the same bike And I’m trying to clean up the wiring just like you have in this video, I’m just wondering where you got the wiring diagram from or if possible you could send me that wiring diagram that you have on the A3 paper. I have been looking for days for a diagram I also have the actual service manual but it doesn’t have the wiring diagram in it and I M struggling to find a diagram for this model bike
Hey mate, if you join a Facebook page called “Suzuki RMX 250 (English)” and use the search bar to search “wiring diagram” once joined. the wiring diagram has been posted a couple of times in there
Hay bud love the channel just a question the expansion chamber on the rmx 250 is it factory or after market Couse I have a rmx 250 and I would love me two mine cheers bud
hey mate, the expansion chamber on my bike is stock, its just been striped back with a wire brush and heat treated at the welds to give it that look
@@jackkellybuilds hay bud and did you treat it with anything two stop it from rusting
Mint dude I just finished an exact same build but with rmz450 front end and subframe, with a drz400 tank and shrouds, I've been through all the bull with the discontinued rmx parts and found out that drz400 parts will fit with slight modifications, eBay drz front sprocket guard will fit, Same with the rear brake mastor shield, and rear rotor guard, I got a 96-00 rm fmf expansion chamber to fit with no modifications just brackets, hit me up if u need any info and please let me know how the cheap carby goes as I'm worried about putting mine on haha
sounds like a really cool build. thanks mate!
Would be interested in seeing a video on your build Scott, should put one up
@@djtbikebuilds1447 yeah I should of recorded it but unfortunately I didn't and it's already built but I have a heap of photos if your interested
@@ShupNride yeah mate that would be awesome, I reckon It would be a tidy build
@@djtbikebuilds1447 yeah she's turned out better than I had expected add me on fb and ill send u the parts list, what i have made for it and some photos
(Fb pic is me sitting on my bike with dreadlocks)
Awesome project! ¿How much would it cost for the full engine rebuild on a 99 rmx250? How much is your project costing so far?
Thanks! Looking foward to the next video.
hey mate, not quite sure the cost since I haven't finished yet, but so far including buying the bike, it has cost me 6K. thanks for watching
I like your work and your videos I enjoyed the crf build but never really been a fan on suzuki will they be anymore videos on the crf again?
I have sold the CRF, so no more videos on that unfortunately. but I now have a 2021 ktm 250 sxf that I may make some videos on, thanks for watching
can you do a crf 230 vid if you can🤔
I’ve no plans to own a 230 but anything can happen.
Hey mate I’m just wondering how I can get my hands on a wiring diagram just like the one that you’ve got a been looking for weeks on Google images to try and find one for my RMX 250 but I just can’t happen to find one like yours
hey mate, sorry for the late reply, but try Facebook groups, people have posted the diagram after photocopying it from their service manual. try the group "Suzuki RMX 250 (English)" and search for the diagram within the group
He jack i was just wondering if you find the links used to get the parts for your rmx 250 and send them to me it would help out alot ,thanks
hey mate, I haven't really got any links, but I find a lot of my parts at my local Suzuki dealer and eBay. lots of people wrecking these bikes on facebook market place aswell
Thanks mate i will try Facebook
Do you service your viewers bikes
