Good to see you're not too disheartened by the constant grind that getting a bike going can present you with every freakin' day. Better luck in the next vid!
Great vids mate, I was given a 99 rmx 250 in pieces. The motor has the top end rebuilt and new gaskets except for the centre split. They cut wiring as they lost the key, had it re keyed and she fired up on Sunday 2nd kick. Was Gunna flog it but I think you have ensipired me to rebuild from scratch.. Awesome job keep up the great work.🤘
Dang man, that stinks!...thanks for recording your journey and sharing with us...I have a 1989 RMX250 that runs, but I'm thinking of restoring...keep up the great work!
An awesome group of videos mate 👍 super informative, I absolutely love the transformation, WOW, you wouldn't even think that it's the same bike, just subscribed to your channel mate. Super impressed 🤙👍
In Canada we got the RMX from 1989 to 1998. Basically the same model with minor changes. Our last year for the RM was 2008. I bought a 1989 RMX new in 1996, replaced that with a new 2002 RM250, that I sold in 2019. Last year I picked up a 1990 RM250 for $400. i've seen pictures of 2009 RM250E sold in Spain.
Loving the build series (subscribed). I just picked up a mint condition RMX250 and the rebuild only has a couple hours on it but it falls on its face once you get into the powerband. The carb, plug, and reeds look super clean. I’m guessing it’s a power valve issue but some people say the crank bearings could be an issue but it runs mint at idle and low rpms!
Feel your pain put 4 grand and a whole summer into a 400ex build I rebuilt the motor and was doing heat cycles when the crank bearings went and locked it up,had to sell do to loss of time and money and lost 2300 us dollars
@@jackkellybuilds my dyno guy wouldn't touch the copy carb... Tried tuning the standard carb & says it has a flat spot at quarter throttle he can't fix. It's still at the shop .
Hey, serious question. So am rebuilding 1996 rmx 250 and the plastics are badly faded to the point that they need to be replaced, you know if the rm250 plastics work or where else can I buy 1996 rmx 250 plastics at? Thanks for the help if you respond.
I’m not too sure about the plastics on the 95 as it’s a different model to mine, but it’s possible some of the earlier 90’s rm250 plastics might fit. Sorry I could t be of more help. But there’s plenty of information across the web of people rebuilding these bikes
@@jackkellybuilds hey mate. I am wondering where you got them side fenders from that go on to the tank, as I have a 98 rmx 250 that have the same dobble holed plastics and I have been looking everywhere for them and can't find any. Thanks
if you mean the reeds, the dirt is most likely from where I placed it down on a dirty rag after taking it out, the tank was fully cleaned inside before being used

@@jackkellybuilds hi, can i send a pm? I need a power valve, but i don’t know where i can buy that.
Glad your still smiling young king 😂
😂😂
The thing looks dialled, looking forward to when it actually is! Props on splitting the cases, that’s something we never did.
Thanks Brodie, yeah it can be a bit nerve-racking, but hopefully everything goes back together the same way haha
@@jackkellybuilds fingers crossed man! We didn’t want to risk it, because if it didn’t we weren’t going racing!
Fair enough, thankfully I have time on my side

Nice man! I’m looking forward to getting this bike back from they dyno to see what it can do!
Unlucky mate, at least it will be running absolutely mint at the end. Stay motivated and head up

Your issue could be a number of things which makes it hard, but it sounds like you might be on the right track. Process of elimination
Been waiting so long for this!! 🤗😁

Great Video

What carb are you running?
I hear the Keihin 38mm striker is the go..?
yeah I'm running a $40 replica pwk 38, people swear by them. if my dyno guy dosent notice that its "fake" then its a win!

Great video, just wondering here you got the radiator shrouds? Having no luck finding them cheers
My radiator shrouds came with the bike, and they're discontinued from Suzuki. So your only option would be to find a set second hand

@@jackkellybuilds and your expansion chamber is it a rm? Or rmx
And what yr is it
Thanks
Spewing bro unlucky, I feel for ya. How long it take for you to get the engine out you'd have that down pat atleast haha
Haha yeah didn’t take too long, about 30 mins, saves a lot of time not having to remove the swingarm
Yewwwww

Don’t press ya crank bearing in too hard and smash your hens teeth rmx cases in 2 pieces like I did 😭🤣🤣
