//FAQs??
-How many squares do I need for a baby blanket?
This can vary, it really can be however big or small you like, but i generally do 4x4 or 5x5.
This blog post might be useful: bit.ly/1UIobie
-How many chains shall I do for a *single/double/etc' blanket?
Again, this can vary. I would suggest that you do your chain and lay it down agains the bed you are wanting it for. It should be the same width. You should then ad a few more to make it a little wider.

-How much yarn do I need?
Unfortunately, I will be able to answer individuals questions about how much yarn you would used do to multiple factors affecting it. Such as, your tension, the size of hook and the yarn being used.

A lovely pattern, even though I'm not into granny squares 😀
Thank you! 😊
Thank you this helped me so much, I couldn't find a video that uses a magic circle like you do so it was very hard for me when I watch others videos.
PS:I am in my dad's account
You are very welcome :)
This is a tad complicated for me but fun to watch.
Muchas gracias por enseñar nos y bendiciones mil
If I wanted to make a giant one for a full size blanket what pattern would I follow?
Still new to this so sorry if it is a silly question!
Good question!
You just continue to make a bunch of these squares, then sew them all together! You can look up how to make a granny square blanket!
First, make your first granny square , measure that then sketch the measurements of your blanket. Divide the height of the granny square by the height of the blanket and that number will be how many squared you need to make and voila!
Bella coco I love you
I try to follow your patterns.. but this one seeing looks difficult. I am definitely going to try this one until completed😊
Good luck :)
I have good luck by having my yarns lined up and moving the one i finished with to the end if the line before picking up the next color.

Thank you for this tutorial. I love this pattern, it was so much fun to make!
Could you make a slight adjustment to your written pattern? I followed the written pattern first, and couldn't figure out what I had done wrong. So I found your video and discovered that there are two colour C sections. This part was missing from the written pattern and so my first attempt failed.
Your welcome and thank you for bringing this to our attention, we will get this amended as soon as possible and apologise for any inconvenience caused :)
I love the colours 🥰😊
Hi! Love your tutorials! They are so clear! How do you or even better what do you use as a white background?
Thank you, this is a desk top :)
@@bellacococrochet Thanks! It certainly helps to make your tutorials crisp and clear!
Thanks for the very clear explanation, I made the square and it was very nice.
But @ 13:39 the written stitches are different from the explanation before, so it didn't give me 9 stitches between all the markers at the end. Thanks
You're welcome, I'm glad you like it 😊 Thanks for picking this up; the written instructions should say to work two trebles into the next stitch, not the next two stitches. Sorry for any confusion this has caused.
@@bellacococrochet thanks for answering. No need to be sorry, we are humans and mistakes are normal 😊
I'll use the squares for a cardigan, will send you the final product isA.
I had the same issue. I got 9 stitches on two of my sides and 12 on the other. Did the written instructions help better? I really want to make a blanket for my daughter using this method.
@@bellacococrochet hey! I love this video. Was there an error in the verbal or written instructions? Because I followed the video but didn’t get 9 stitches on every side. I only got them on two sides.
Didn't you upload something similar a couple months ago? Did the video get deleted? I really liked that spiral granny square.
I think there was some drama on the last video she posted. I think it was inadvertently similar to somebody else's design and the other designer made it a whole thing.
May I ask what type of yarn are you using, polyester , acrylic or cotton ? I’ve been using polyester and it’s really not that good. I’m a beginner so I can’t tell if there’s a difference? Ps. Your videos are amazing thank youuuu
Thank you and I used Paintbox Simply Aran which is 100% acrylic :)
Hi, I want to try this spiral square in a traditional granny square blanket I'm making. How can I get the edge lines to be in the 3 trebles pattern that would let me seam this with the rest of my squares using the join as you go method I learnt from you (which is a life-saver, BTW)
You can work a border around the square with three trebles in one stitch, skipping two stitches in between, which will give you the traditional granny square pattern 😊 But you can still use the join as you go method with the square finished as it is, you would just slip stitch every three stitches or so.
@@bellacococrochet Thank you very much indeed. This has been buzzing around in my head for more than a week. You're a lifesaver!
Can this be made bigger to 6’” square as want a bigger spiral but not sure about turning it in to a square on the bigger size
Do u have a video on how to connect the squares together if u wanted to make a blanket
I have several tutorials on how to join granny squares on my youtube channel, just search bella coco how to join granny squares and all the different options will come up so that you choose which one would suit you the best:)
What can I do if I want to make the square bigger? I want to crochet one to put my pots/pans on when they are hot.
To make a bigger square you can use thicker yarn and/or a bigger hook - you can even use two strands of yarn held together 😊
@@bellacococrochet Can you add on to the pattern? If so, can you do it for me? I don't know how to do that.
Wouldn't you just carry on the spiral bit for longer?
It appears to become a repeating pattern at some point.
I love this, however I would like to keep going and make a spiral blanket. Instead of tying off how would I go about carrying on?? If you wouldn’t mind x
I’m afraid I didn’t do the pattern for that so I wouldn’t be able to advise x
I would say just make several and then join them altogether, that’s what I’m going to do.
I am wanting to do the same thing. I think it'd be fun for a yoga blanket. Did you ever figure out the pattern or find one?
I have been trying to make a bigger square but it's curling inward. I learnt from HappyBerry
I'm 10 between each one and I've followed this to the letter lol 🤣
Me too!
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍🌹
Is there a written pattern? It's such a cute pattern for a baby blanket.
The written pattern can be found on my blog at bellacococrochet.com :)
Hello. I really have trouble keeping the length even in a row (not about the spiral granny) I’ve tried using the marker clips and counting. I think I must miss the last stitch in the row or something. Could you possibly show me exactly how to do the end of the row? Thank you.
If you pop over to my blog you can find the written instructions for the pattern which might help you find out where you're going wrong: bellacococrochet.com/spiral-granny-square/ 😊 Before you begin a round it's a good idea to identify the stitches where you should be working into and counting them out ready.
If I have to make it of big size then how to increase the stitches ,pls show me
If you want to make the square bigger you can increase your hook size or use a thicker yarn 😊
Please please could you add a video for a crochet ladybug 🐞?
Lovely, helpful tutorial - thank you. I'm also having trouble with the final stitch count between the corners, but the written pattern on your website isn't helping. In fact, I followed the written instructions before watching this video and there seem to be several written steps missing (where to add color C in between A & B and then adding a second strand of color C @ 7:04 in the video, for one example). Are there further instructions that I'm not seeing or do i have an old link perhaps? Thank you for your beautiful patterns & tutorials.
Thank you, I’m glad you’ve found it helpful 😊 As the spiral granny square is quite a complex pattern, I would recommend using the written instructions alongside the video tutorial rather than on their own. There aren’t any further instructions but I’ll definitely take on board your feedback 😊
Can I do this with just two colours x
Yes, you can just skip the colour changes shown in the video 😊
@@bellacococrochet thank you hun an early merry Christmas 🎄🎄
Do you have to use the magic circle method? I can’t do one how ever hard I try 😂
If you don't want to use a magic circle you can chain 4 and join with a slip stitch as you would for a standard granny square 😊
@@bellacococrochet thanks for your reply. Love the videos keep them coming 🥰
i might not of commented right, but i am really interested, in the spiral the purple and pink color one, i noticed u said pattern below the written pattern, i tried to download it, but i kept getting medical stuff, can u please help me, also by any chance is that pattern in your ebook
How big does the square end up being. Trying to put it into a project I am already working on.
This totally depends on the yarn you use, your hook size and your personal tension :)
I absolutely love this pattern but I keep ending up with more than 9 stitches between the sides at the end and I don’t know where going wrong
I'm glad you like it 😊 If you have too many stitches at the end you may be going wrong at some point earlier in the pattern. The written instructions can be found over on my blog here: bellacococrochet.com/spiral-granny-square/ - I would go through and double check that you have the correct number of stitches, using stitch markers to help you if needed.
Is there a written pattern for this? I don't see a link to buy it. Thanks.
Hi the free pattern can be found on my blog at bellacococrochet.com :)
Which category?
Hi ya
I’ve been using your written pattern is it me or is there no instructions for the extra boarder at the end?
Hi Isabella what extra boarder are you referring to?
the extra round you added the The optional one? It ends here
Round 4: (with colour A+B) 2tr in next st, 4tr, 2tr in next st (mark 2nd to last st)
Round 4: (with colour C) 2tr, 2tr in next st (mark last st), htr, dc, ss. Tie off
Round 5: (with colour A+B) 2htr in next st, dc, ss. Tie off
Sew in ends and block.
I am trying a bigger spiral but it is curling the project. Do I need to crochet three instead of two at the beginning and end of each colour? Thankyou for your tutorial.
You’re welcome 😊 If you want to make a bigger spiral I would recommend changing your yarn or hook size, rather than adjusting the pattern, so that everything lays flat still.
I wish you could do tis in Amrican terms. I'm Canadian and it's driving me crazy, Treble, treble, half treble.
Maybe this will help you - bit.ly/Conversionchart :)
Hallo
I am not getting all notifications I have did all under the bell
It’s hard for me to follow without you showing the stitch instructions on the screen. I would rather read along. You are wonderful just my learning style
You can find the written pattern here:- blog.bellacococrochet.com/spiral-granny-square/ :)
Made the whole spiral and found out from each stitches marker there wasn’t 9 stitches what have I done 😢
It would be a case of retracing your steps I’m afraid; the written instructions for this are on my blog here: blog.bellacococrochet.com/spiral-granny-square/ so I would read carefully through each step and count the stitches for each part. It’s a bit of a tricky one to get the hang of so don’t give up, you’ll get there! 😊
Nice video but I hate that there are different terms across the ponds, it'd be easier for all if there was one system instead of many terms, sheesh.
You are doing single crochet, half double crochet, and double crochet. No treble crochets.
I am working in UK terms not US terms, so a UK double is a US single, this chart maybe of use to you :- bit.ly/Conversionchart I hope this helps :)
When you're already at the middle of making this then you realized you did something wrong in the beginning 😐 I hate myself
You have to remember that crochet is practice and patience so don't be too hard on yourself. Give it another try and it will get easier :)
