These are coming along massively year on year which is great. I would happily pay an extra 10k for one of these with a bigger motor. Big players are just taking the piss these days

The problem is that people think all this at $52,990 is a cheap Ute. We’ve been conditioned to think that with how much the manufacturers are now ripping us off for new vehicles. Just think $52,990 less than 5 years ago was an SR5 and a new base Triton could be found for $30k and even less for ABN buyers. Yes labour costs a bit more and the chip shortage has given manufacturers the excuse of being absolutely ridiculous with new vehicle prices. Don’t forget most of these vehicles come out of Thailand where labour is still cheap. Once the full effect of recession takes place and dealers have stock sitting around and have to actually go back to selling instead of being order takers we should start to see the prices start to settle down. So yeah it’s priced well in the current market but it still isn’t really that cheap, just cheaper than the competition.

I'm in the market for buying a dual cab ute and would buy one of these IF it had a V6 3.0 litre engine. The 2.0 litre is just not big enough. Especially for towing a van which I want to do. The engine size is the only thing stopping me from buying one...😢

Buy One. Got my elx xlv in dec 22. With the Sport Rexton mtr. I Love it... I'm a farmer in SA. I only use it to go to town. Avg 7.9 lt p/100km. Unladen 1/2 the time... The automatic is brilliant. Driven in manual mode from yard. Only addition will be airbags on rear leaf. Airbag Man are developing some for me now. I can't fault it. For $41,200, w marble paint, tint all round, ppf, mags, interior protect.. Ask Auburn at Werribee Ssangyong. The port troubles started after mine arrived. The toggle to change gears is easy. Might look fiddly, but it's not. Not like the Ranger. & 40k left over for other needs in life ... Cheers John from SA.
My Cannon. Build in 2021, 49k km. Transmission acts funny, rear diff iss loud rust every where even if it's prepared and washed after !1! Trip to Fraser where the towbar fell of with my caravan. Radar fault almost permanently. Almost all Dealer and "service" are hopeless. Emails that are not comfortable never been answered. Dealer gives a sh... Service tells you we are not technically minded and tells you talk to your dealer even if they don't want to help you... 7years warranty? On the middle seatbelt in the rear but not on anything that can fail..cheap and not a bad car as long as it works. But....
Don't know what it's like with a load on. Don't know what it's like towing. Don't know what it's like off road. This test tells us what it's like if you want a big family car with a big open boot and enough power to move around OK unloaded. So what do I think of it? Probably OK but this test doesn't help me much towards that conclusion.
The only thing that lets this car down is the underpowered engine. If they had similar hp and torque numbers to their competitors while still keeping the great price. They wouldn't be able to make them quick enough

V6 ranger, Land Cruiser, patrol it doesn’t matter. you need to learn a few lessons about towing! 0-100 times for these vehicles are a pissing contest. 76 series v8 won’t get to 100 in under 14 seconds without some serious mods! If the vehicle in front of you is doing 70 km/h it will be fine. Use what you have within its limits is the rule. 100 to 0 braking is far more relevant!

This bakkie here in South Africa with cost r654.580.00rand without important duties with is an extra r250.000 on top the r654.580...eesh...and parts for GWM bakkie are very expensive here in South Africa...all has to be important in...eg...diesel water separator unit screws into diesel fuel filter plastic sensor sender unit r850rand with out value added tax.VAT....but first the agency must analysis the problem first ..plug in the laptop into your GWM...r 500...to confirm diesels water sensor is faulty...then sell you the tiny part size of a match box...r850 plus vat .15%..I have a GWM 4x4.....I have been careful with it...when I drive... definitely not rough...as parts are extremely expensive here... especially via the agent...and so many electronic sensors all over the place...gives you a head ache

It gives a good indicator of engine performance and allows for some comparison with other vehicles in the same segment.
