Got the Cannon X and drive a lot of different Utes at work, nothing better then coming home and driving mine, it blows all the others away considering the price I paid for it. Really impressed with its luxury and solid drive.

But it's underpowered says the owner of a non-GWM ute. Why do non-owners know more than GWM owners? Never ceases to amaze. Enjoy many years of GWM motoring.

Yea probably not for those towing heavy weight, I just use it as an everyday car that offers all the luxury of vehicles that cost double the price.
There is also the annoying manual DPF process you have to do occasionally if you don't drive it long distances:)

The problem is that people think all this at $52,990 is a cheap Ute.
We’ve been conditioned to think that with how much the manufacturers are now ripping us off for new vehicles.
Just think $52,990 less than 5 years ago was an SR5 and a new base Triton could be found for $30k and even less for ABN buyers.
Yes labour costs a bit more and the chip shortage has given manufacturers the excuse of being absolutely ridiculous with new vehicle prices. Don’t forget most of these vehicles come out of Thailand where labour is still cheap.
Once the full effect of recession takes place and dealers have stock sitting around and have to actually go back to selling instead of being order takers we should start to see the prices start to settle down.
So yeah it’s priced well in the current market but it still isn’t really that cheap, just cheaper than the competition.

Right. So when towing a trailer, particularly a loaded one, you actually consider it’s reasonable to overtake at 100 km/h? V6 ranger, Land Cruiser, patrol it doesn’t matter. you need to learn a few lessons about towing! 0-100 times for these vehicles are a pissing contest. 76 series v8 won’t get to 100 in under 14 seconds without some serious mods! If the vehicle in front of you is doing 70 km/h it will be fine. Use what you have within its limits is the rule. 100 to 0 braking is far more relevant!

This bakkie here in South Africa with cost r654.580.00rand without important duties with is an extra r250.000 on top the r654.580...eesh...and parts for GWM bakkie are very expensive here in South Africa...all has to be important in...eg...diesel water separator unit screws into diesel fuel filter plastic sensor sender unit r850rand with out value added tax.VAT....but first the agency must analysis the problem first ..plug in the laptop into your GWM...r 500...to confirm diesels water sensor is faulty...then sell you the tiny part size of a match box...r850 plus vat .15%..I have a GWM 4x4.....I have been careful with it...when I drive... definitely not rough...as parts are extremely expensive here... especially via the agent...and so many electronic sensors all over the place...gives you a head ache

Wonder why its so cheap? Due to lower overall quality compared to other utes?? Lower overall reliability & durability long term ? And is it built to be a throwaway vehicle after 10 yrs? It might be well equipped but cheap doesn't mean it's fantastic or brilliant . We've just added 6 mahindra Pik Ups to join our LC fleet & the Mahindra's are cheap & absolutely as capable as. Wonder how many Chinese utes here will manage to do 500,000km over their lifespan???
