✈ EasyJet A320NEO G-UZHC CFM LEAP-1A Engine Start Up

Hello and welcome to SOUTHEND AVIATION!
London Southend has now got the pleasure of having 2 A320NEO's based here! This here is G-UZHC, the 3rd A320NEO delivered to EasyJet in November 2017, seen starting up it's CFM LEAP 1A engines. The A320 NEO continues to impress and by the looks of thing the viewers too! Enjoy!

Wow, I didn’t expected that fart noise during the ignition. I thought it was going to be inaudible or extremely low frequency.

Ensanche Films it seems to only be easyJet who has start up farts 😂
I’ve watched several Leap 1A engine starts and can’t really hear any other engines farting like that?
Must be a cold start thing?

Glen Joseph yeah it’s definitely a post ignition sound for sure but only ezy 320’s seem to sound like that

Yes guys, it is the fuel makinf that sound. You hear it in a few engines such as the GE90, CF9 and sometimes the LF507. Not just EZY 320NEOs that make it, any NEO with a LEAP engine does.

WOW, the ignition fart sounds very similar to northern England's now retired Class 142 Pacer trains when they had a hole in the exhaust!😁 Love the A320NEO, and fantastic video - thanks for posting this.😉👍

1:20 what's with the bulge on the bottom right corner of the nacelle. It makes the right half of the nacelle look like it was for a 737

i'm surprised you did not get sucked in. the way you were passing by the engines you could have easily got sucked in. you are both very lucky. never stand in front of engines or you willk get sucked in.

I wasn't stood anywhere near them! The rampies would have easily been a safe distance from the engines, it's part of their training. Maybe the footage makes them look closer?

SOUTHEND AVIATION the CFM56 start almost instantly. The CFM Leap on the 737 Max motors for about 30 seconds at 23% N2 to straighten out the drive shaft because of potential bowing. I meant does the A320 NEO version do the same

Watching a lot of engine starting videos like this, I realize that the engineers are not really commited with. The engine #1 seems to finish its own starting at 1:05 but the guys are not monitoring anymore. Now the engine #2 starts and at 1:52 is not monitored also although the procedure likes still not finished. Unless pilot had reported through the ramp a normal starting for both....

Could you explain for the big sound when start LEAP1A engine? that sound is bigger than CFM56 and V2500.

What you're hearing is known as combustor tone, it's like a resonance made in the combustion chambers when the fuel and air is mixed.
