We met eyes and I let out an audible gasp of recognition - so then I had to say hello to them so they didn't think I was some weirdo...LOL. My husband and I also met YOU while getting onto the elevator on Saturday - I said "oh, it must be fate" because my husband kept seeing you on the showroom floor and encouraging me to say hello. I wish I would have chatted with you longer. I completely forgot about the meetup at the Vanness Lounge, I was very overwhelmed with all of the pens. 31:24 I noticed that too. I was looking for Iroful paper and could not find any.
I absolutely love your feelings on letter writing. I will be attending my first pen show later this month in San Francisco and I am sure I will feel the same way too.

I am going through a fountain pen burnout for the last couple months, so I haven't kept up with pen news and your videos. I am glad that I clicked on this video. The only thing that I have to say though is I had such a bad customer service experience with Gravitas Pens that I hesitate to order anymore pens from them.

I can't wait for the Ellington Pen review. I've had one for about 2 years. The white/rose gold. It has been an every day carry, and sadly, the rose gold coating is flaking off... AND THE SECTION HAS STARTED TO RUST! So disappointing. But what can I say, I got it on sale for $18... Unfortunately, it is not made well enough to last. Love your videos. I'm happy you had this RW experience. Because it's so tempting to misunderstand the noises on both social media and media. They are often not representative, while they are certainly trying to be perceived as such, as well as trying to change people.
I really love the Papier Plume inks from New Orleans in case that is the one that interested you. The fine writing store is lovely and the inks they produce make it extra special.
I do have a Waterman Edson and I think it is one of the most beautiful pens ever. Unfortunately, I don't have the amazing box in which it originally came, but at least I have the full documentation from the original box. The deep blue of the barrel and the gorgeous inlaid nib are absolutely adorable. The Edson for sure is one of the highlights in my collection, and I am so happy that I got it. Great show as always. Thanks for sharing your impressions. I totally agree: Ben Walsh is an amazing guy - I met him last year at the Dutch Pen Show. My favourite Gravitas pen is the Quark UP in Zirkonium. Ultra pocket pen but full size when posted and with a HUGE nib. And all Gravitas pens are perfectly manufactured. My best wishes to Helen and Imogen.
I went to the STL Pen Show for my 3rd time this summer, and I’ve been to the PNW Pen Show once. I found such community amongst pen friends. So I get what you are saying about the experience altho the DC show would put me over the moon. By all means pen fans should go to a show.
I would be completely starstruck meeting any of you. The Fountain pen Philosopher Drew Brown, the Gentleman Adventurer Hemingway Jones, Fountain pen wizard Ben Walsh, and so many others.

I feel like Esterbrook has tested pens for RUclips personalities because no reviewers had the $400 of disappointment that I did, and I watched a lot before my purchases. That is the company that has me on pen break while I pursue other more reliable hobbies. Had a bad string of junk pens.. and by junk, I mean the $150-$250 level.. which is pretty expensive to have them showing up with problems. Almost all 100-200 level pens show up writing badly. Pilot, sailor and TWSBI have been the only brands that I’ve counted on writing great out of the box. I probably dislike how 60% of my pens write. That’s an awful percentage for any industry and there’s really no excuse for that lack QC issue. Pilot tho.. everytime, like driving a new Cadillac. Well done pilot!
Hello My Friend. I think that QC issues are unacceptable at any price point and I have had my fair share. When I went through a streak of this, I went high end with a brand I was comfortable with and this was how I rationalized it. As if I needed a reason! I have had good experiences with Esterbrook personally. But if I ever don’t, I will show it as such. I always review the pen I have in hand. Thanks for the great comment.
I enjoyed meeting you during the roundtable meetups. The inktesting tables was fun for me and helpful to see actual ink colors. Pen selection is very personal. For certain, the pens you brought home are very important to you for your reasons. 🎉 Enjoy each of them and create memories. I will send you photos of the lovely stationary sets that came home with me....found them in Rm#1, 2nd vendor to the right. What an experience. I am thinking of going to the Orlando show in September. Having never been to a show before, I really don’t know what to expect. Are pens, inks, and paper cheaper at shows - or is it only the “so much in one place” that is the draw? When you consider that everything you could ever want is on Amazon, are things going to be cheaper - or perhaps even more expensive? Any advice from anyone who knows more than me would be very appreciated!
Ink the Sey pen! It was made to be used and enjoyed. Not inking it and enjoying it would be like buying an amazing car and never driving it, only looking at it in your garage. Beautiful, yes probably so but not being enjoyed as it was designed to be.

I am thinking of going to the Orlando show in September. Having never been to a show before, I really don’t know what to expect. Are pens, inks, and paper cheaper at shows - or is it only the “so much in one place” that is the draw? When you consider that everything you could ever want is on Amazon, are things going to be cheaper - or perhaps even more expensive?
Any advice from anyone who knows more than me would be very appreciated!
Ink the Sey pen! It was made to be used and enjoyed. Not inking it and enjoying it would be like buying an amazing car and never driving it, only looking at it in your garage. Beautiful, yes probably so but not being enjoyed as it was designed to be.
It’s not mine. It’s my wife’s and I am not sure what she will do. I would probably use it. I ink almost everything. Thanks!
