The giant egg shows that Sea-Monkeys/Aqua Dragons look awesome in such an enormous environment. I know companies market to younger ages to start, but fans grow up. Someone should officially produce a significantly larger aquarium (with a built-in air line), aimed at serious adult collectors. Regarding the egg-shaped kit, I'd like it more if it included something like a castle or a cave at the base, for atmosphere. Otherwise, you may as well raise your pets in a large brandy snifter (which I may do, now that I think about it). This channel consistently provides informative, intelligent content in a genuinely enthusiastic (& often humorous) manner, & I look forward to every new upload. Thanks again as always!
I'd love to see you try to turn the big tank into a fully self-sustaining ecosystem (other than heat and maybe oxygen). Seems like it'd be the perfect size for it
Pro tip for brine shrimp raising. Put gravel, sand, or even a small rock in your tank. It will be amazing for algae growth as well as microorganisms. Plus it will make the tank more similar to the shrimps natural habitat.
Be careful with gravel or rocks, I've found they can get stuck. I set up a larger tank last summer and after rescuing/cleaning out stuck shrimps had to just remove all the gravel. That colony is still going strong :)
I did NOT expect the "butt plug" joke but I heavily enjoyed how out of left-field it was! Unrelated, but the Arizona science center has a giant ecosphere which is basically a large glass orb! i wonder if you could make something like that and use a custom lid?
Have you ever tried growing a colony of these guys in one of those “wall bubble” tanks? They’re marketed for bettas and plant propagation, but I think it would be pretty cool with artemia! Maybe even with some added sand and decor to encourage microalgae growth. May be good for those of us with cats who like to knock things over. I’d totally be into a tank like this if I could get my hands on one! Really interesting info about the egg yolk too, and looking forward to hearing about your freshwater algae research!! I think some of us who live farther from the coast may have more difficulty getting the saltwater microalgae to colonize, right? Egg-cellent video, thank you 😊
I haven’t tried it but I have seen those tanks! Would definitely be interesting to experiment with. I’ll add it to my never ending list of videos to make 😅 Yeah I imagine getting saltwater algae to naturally colonise in your tank would be difficult if you live inland. I’ve experimented with feeding brine shrimp both freshwater and saltwater algae, and it seems that saltwater algae is the superior option - at least with the species I’ve tried anyway
I'm curious if you could access ornamental macroalgae in your country like the red branching varieties or large leafy ones likr caulerpa. It'd be interesting to see you experiment with them.
@pico-cosmos I would love that too. I guess the closest thing we have is the SMESSS, which I do like. There's also that larger rectangular Japanese one from a while ago.
i recently set up a tank around this size, but i used only two packets and brought the salinity up the rest of the way with marine salt. excited to see how it goes! what do you do with all the pipets and scoops you get with all these kits?
The big tank looks awesome! Might actually be my favourite so far. As far as the little ones do you think the egg would fit an air line and heater better than the hatch and grow?
I always wonder, watching your video's, why don't you set up a 30 cm cube with a substrate and filter like a salt water aquarium? I would love to see that. The pet sets seem a bit to small and unrealistic to me.
I will make a tutorial on how to make a large DIY brine shrimp aquarium some day! I just really enjoy trying out all of the pet sets, even if they are often quite small 😅
I just started my sea monkey journey and I love watching your videos and taking tips from you, quick question what’s the longest period of time you kept sea monkeys alive?
Hey picocosmos! i have a few things to say so i'd love if you could read this :)! first of all, i love your channel! your videos are both entertaining, and very informative! 2nd of all, a few months ago, i brought an aqua dragons kit. i followed one of your videos on taking care of them, but i think there were too many aqua dragons in the tank or i didn't take care of them properly. they all died within 2 weeks :( . do you have any tips for me on taking care of them? here's what i think i did wrong: i didn't take them outside or put them in a spot with much sunlight. there were also a lot of dead aqua dragons and dirt at the bottom of the tank, whenever i put oxygen in the tank with the syringe thingy all the dirt and dead aqua dragons would go flying everywhere! was supposed to clean it or leave it. if so, how do i clean it? also, i'm a beginner so i don't have all that cool equipment you have :'D ! i also don't plan on buying any :). is it still possible for the aqua dragons to have a long life without the equipment? also i fed them every 3rd day or so ( but at the beginning i fed them half scoops like you :D) thanks for reading and i'd love the tips and response! love your channel💕 (p.s sorry for typing so much lol ) ( also i just got the basic tank with the LED lights not the hatch n grow kit with the mountains :D)✨ ( oh! and im thinking of buying more eggs and food to restart! )
Hey, I've been watching your videos with my son, and I recently got him an aqua dragons tank because of you. Anyway I've got a question for you. I live in the U.S. so I can't buy the same stuff on Amazon as Eureopeans, meaning I can't order the aqua dragon food packets directly and would have to order a whole start up kit any time I needed more food. It seems a waste to do it like that. Are there any more sustainable food options like a shrimp feed or something you recommend instead?
I have a video on my channel talking about it, but basically it’s because I live close to the beach and the spores naturally find their way into my tanks
Hi friend I really like your big Aqua Dragon Egg Aquarium I had an idea how how about trying out fairy shrimp they are freshwater but I feel like you might like them they're really cool like sea monkeys😊❤🎉🎉
I would like a huge tank like that, just not egg shaped. I could do with a bigger version of the Hydro Pets, with the color changing light at the base (or maybe one on the lid this time) since it gives somewhat the classic shape of a fish bowl but with two flat panels without magnifying bubbles to make the view as clear as possible. It would be a lot of salt and eggs and food for a tank that big so it better also include an air pump and stone at the very least, a mini heater for a 1 gal tank should suffice for heating it up but I fear for temperature fluctuating and boiling the little guys. 😅
If conditions are good the population will naturally increase with time. The best way to ensure they grow well and reproduce is to feed them live microalgae
How hard is it to get one of these big egg tanks? I was going to use a giant peanut butter jar from my job, but this looks better. Are there other large size tanks you can raise them in?
I imagine getting one of these large tanks is quite difficult as I’ve never seen one come up for sale. You can raise brine shrimp in an aquarium of any size though
These guys can go 14 days between feedings? I'm guessing this is from having the live algae growing in their tanks is their main food and you supplement that ever 2 weeks or so?
How much are these companies really saving with their cheap plastic? A few cents per item? Even shampoo bottles are thicker so I truly don't understand the penny pinching Great vid though!
@pico-cosmos I found it, it's changed to Italian... And won't change back 😂 I switch it to English and it goes straight back to Italian. Weirdly enough it's only this video so far.
"Lastly, we have the butt plug"
I love your sense of humor 😂😂 😂
Lol thought I had to address the elephant in the room
I have once made a similar joke.
"The butt plug- I mean (Rain World's) jellyfish."
That's exactly why they made the walls so thin! They were terrified of being tagged in a photo with their aquarium up someone's bum!
"...so it could be bent easily with a little pleasur- I mean pressure."
Nice to know that I wasn't the only one who thought that
Wake up, Picosmos just uploaded
I love your sense of humor, I was eating and nearly choked when you made the butt plug joke from laughing so hard! Amazing video ❤

AMEN! Larger tanks for the older audience wanting to take the hobby to the next level. 👍👍👍
Aqua Dragons 😅

After binge watching all of your videos, I have successfully started a colony in a 1 gallon fish tank.
I just realized that pico cosmos is such a cool name! Very small, but also infinite, interesting, and undiscovered
I almost punched my phone on that last egg pun. You sir are a diabolical man as that was eggxtremely uncalled for 💀🤣

The pun-uendo game was on point in this vid, I probably missed a bunch before I realized how deep it all went. But thankfully there's a flared base.
Christmas may have passed but this is the best gift of the season. That is massive!
I did NOT expect the "butt plug" joke but I heavily enjoyed how out of left-field it was!
Unrelated, but the Arizona science center has a giant ecosphere which is basically a large glass orb! i wonder if you could make something like that and use a custom lid?
"wish it had more girth". Gotta respect a man who knows what he likes
I love his biology works. It’s like a big puzzle piece all coming together
I love this video! I got my first sea monkey kit for christmas, and I'm hoping to start a successful colony with the help of your videos .
Nice! Which tank did you get?
I got an ocean zoo kit🎉@@pico-cosmos
They're pretty big now!
3:23 omg that freaking got me💀

I got sea monkeys, but then the water dropped drastically but your heater came in clutch
YAAYYY I’ve been checking for your uploads and at last it is here 🧘♀️🧘♀️🧘♀️
I'm curious if you could access ornamental macroalgae in your country like the red branching varieties or large leafy ones likr caulerpa. It'd be interesting to see you experiment with them.
i havent been able to find any. would be easier for me to just get it from the beach
Excited to see this thing in action.
I’m surprised by how much I liked this one. I still have it sitting on my coffee table 😆 oh how I wish Sea-Monkeys would make an Ocean Zoo this size
@pico-cosmos I would love that too. I guess the closest thing we have is the SMESSS, which I do like. There's also that larger rectangular Japanese one from a while ago.
What a great post Christmas Gift!
Hi Picocosmos yes I would be interested in trying the larger egg shaped aquarium.
You ever thought about doing a bioscape? Trying to make a larger tank that mimics the natural environment?
i recently set up a tank around this size, but i used only two packets and brought the salinity up the rest of the way with marine salt. excited to see how it goes!
what do you do with all the pipets and scoops you get with all these kits?
I have a huge pile of them lol. When people order stuff from my website I often give them extras that I have too many of
Yay new video!
Btw do you ship hats to south africa?
Cheers!
Yup! I ship everything worldwide
The big tank looks awesome! Might actually be my favourite so far.

I wonder what they mean by having it intended as a store display. Store displays don't tend to be functional but this was a full on kit! :o
I just started my sea monkey journey and I love watching your videos and taking tips from you, quick question what’s the longest period of time you kept sea monkeys alive?
I’ve had a single colony going over 2 years now. Not sure about an actual individual sea monkey though, probably just a few months
If they would make either size "egg" tank with a bit larger opening I think that would be helpful. Otherwise, very cool.
Yeah I had the same thought - that little hole on top could definitely do with being a little bigger
Hi
How do u grow sea weed or the nice algae ??
I have a question abt setting up a sea-monkey tank, os it ok if i use a bigger tank with more water...?
Yeah you can use whatever size you want. You just have to make sure the water/salt ratio is correct.
Hey picocosmos! i have a few things to say so i'd love if you could read this :)! first of all, i love your channel! your videos are both entertaining, and very informative! 2nd of all, a few months ago, i brought an aqua dragons kit. i followed one of your videos on taking care of them, but i think there were too many aqua dragons in the tank or i didn't take care of them properly. they all died within 2 weeks :( . do you have any tips for me on taking care of them? here's what i think i did wrong: i didn't take them outside or put them in a spot with much sunlight. there were also a lot of dead aqua dragons and dirt at the bottom of the tank, whenever i put oxygen in the tank with the syringe thingy all the dirt and dead aqua dragons would go flying everywhere! was supposed to clean it or leave it. if so, how do i clean it? also, i'm a beginner so i don't have all that cool equipment you have :'D ! i also don't plan on buying any :). is it still possible for the aqua dragons to have a long life without the equipment? also i fed them every 3rd day or so ( but at the beginning i fed them half scoops like you :D) thanks for reading and i'd love the tips and response! love your channel💕 (p.s sorry for typing so much lol ) ( also i just got the basic tank with the LED lights not the hatch n grow kit with the mountains :D)✨ ( oh! and im thinking of buying more eggs and food to restart! )

The video I uploaded before this one has 5 examples of alternative foods for them :)
@pico-cosmos thank you❤️
when this video got uploaded I set up my seamonkey tank, 9 days later they are thriving!
Also, for the gutweed you featured in another video, does it produce enough oxygen to keep a colony?
I believe so yeah. When I have a lot of algae in my tanks I usually stop using the air pump and everything remains fine
@@pico-cosmos ok, thanks!
I need to ask, how do you grow multi cell organisms in the aquarium, like that tiny seaweed? Possibly a video?
I have a video on my channel talking about it, but basically it’s because I live close to the beach and the spores naturally find their way into my tanks
@@pico-cosmosOk thanks!
I had a 5 gallon tank of sea monkeys when I was younger. They lived for quite a while.
I LOVE your videos. I wanted sea monkeys so bad as a kid & in hindsight im glad i never got them.
An eggscellent video!
That's a giant Egg tank, cool! Plenty of room. Happy New Year 2025 next week.

Wake up babe, new picocosmos video just dropped
The “butplug” 😭 🙏
What do i do if there is only 3 baby brine shrimp left in my tank
How do i get the population up
If conditions are good the population will naturally increase with time. The best way to ensure they grow well and reproduce is to feed them live microalgae
@@pico-cosmos ok thanks
@@pico-cosmos also another question when algae is growing on the sides of the tank can they eat that?
I've been wanting a tank that's on the bigger side but could never nail down an option. Are there any bigger tanks that the community suggests?
Well, i thought this video was eggstreamly eggselent!
🥚
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from the Umbrella Corporation. 🎁🎄
thank god you didn’t put it at the window the curvature of the aquarium would magnify with the sun and possibly cause a fire
I didn’t even think about that 😆
@ i didn't either when i put my VR at the window and the lens burned down my drapes and almost my house.😂👍
Im seeing a lot of egg puns in these tank names.

Yeah pretty much. The numbers did dwindle over that period, so I was probably underfeeding a little
3:35 Lmao
Nice to know that you like your "tanks" more girthy 😜😅
Can you mix Sea-Monkeys with Aqua Dragons?
Yeah should be fine. I suspect they’re the same species
🔥🔥🔥🐉💧💧💧

Great vid though!
Yeah it's a good point. Honestly I don't know why they plastic is so flimsy
3:34💀😭🙏
Are these the same thing as Sea-Monkeys?
Yeah very similar product
I wish I had that😢
Wait so feeding them egg wasn't a joke?
Nope! The yolk is a surprisingly good food source. Best just to only use one or two drops of it per feeding though - that stuff is potent
Hi
Hay buddy your right arm mole looks like a melanoma can you please go get that checked out
Maybe that’s what we need to do

Oh no, that automatic synchronization feature from RUclips sounds awful. 😅
I wanna hear you talk about Aqua Dragons and not some AI 😂
Okay so I have been trying to watch this but 15 seconds in the language changes.... I have no idea why
RUclips has a new option to choose which language you want the audio track in. It shouldn’t be changing automatically though.. very odd
@pico-cosmos I found it, it's changed to Italian... And won't change back 😂
