I want to make a culturally relevant joke but I'm not american and never celebrated Thanksgiving. So I'll just end my comment with a terrible dad joke and say that he's named *Turkey* Tom for a reason, heh. Amarite fellas ?
The funniest interaction I’ve ever seen with this guy was when Tristan Haggard asked him in a debate: “If you saw a bear eating a fish, would you arrest the bear for violating the fish’s equal right to life?” And he said yes.
Vegan gains would be more reasonable if he limited his ire towards factory farming. But he goes full r-word when he talks about killing carnivorous animala
It's funny how he brings up yellow stone as a "fine ecosystem" when without wolves the biodiversity was horrible and so many species disappeared from the area you need wolves to actively keep the elk in check
He wasn’t trying to prove there were no negative externalities. He was just using it as an example to prove there wasn’t some kind of complete ecological collapse
I literally said out loud "No it was NOT" when he said Yellowstone was fine without wolves. I think it's so crazy when people view wolves as something to get rid of.
As a biologist Yellowstone is definitely an example of how lacking predators causes an environmental impact. It was found the overpopulation of herbivores changes the water ways. It affected the vegetation. I find it absurd that he says he judges people for being “misinformed” yet he has some very flawed logic based off of things that aren’t even true.
Lmao exactly. he is a dumb city idiot with no understanding of nature. Lack of wolves PROFOUNDLY affected Yellowstone's ecosystem down to the aquatic invertebrates in the rivers.
You moron, he literally says he's fine with killing carnivorous animals AS LONG AS it doesn't hurt herbivores animals. So if killing a lot of them caused environmental damage which would hurt herbivores then he wouldn't be in favour of that.
Unfortunately there has been a lot of sensationalist media on this topic in favor of the idea that reintroducing wolves helped fix the yellowstone ecosystem but there wasn't ever solid evidence of that in the first place. Look up the article "Scientists debunk myth that Yellowstone wolves changed entire ecosystem, flow of rivers" As well as the actual study titled "Does restoring apex predators to food webs restore ecosystems? Large carnivores in Yellowstone as a model system" The author of the study, "It is a classic example of how saying something many times with enthusiasm can make it true, regardless of what the science says".
There’s literally an entire documentary about how removing the wolves from Yellowstone severely damaged the ecosystem and reintroducing them directly helped in restoring it.
Yellowstone's ecosystem suffered mainly because the humans in the area did not take up the responsibility of filling the role of the predator within the ecosystem. Hunting in Yellowstone Park is *strictly prohibited,* which means the vacuum left by the removed predators was not filled with an appropriate check to account for it, leading to the local herbivorous fauna running completely unchecked. Meanwhile, in England, the ecosystem remains extremely healthy, even vibrant after the eradication of their native Wolf population in the 1300s, because the English people adapted, and developed a strong hunting culture.
I watched a documentary about wolves on Scripps News (formerly Newsy). Wolves are making a comeback with the reintroduction program and the ecosystem is slowly beginning to recover. The wolves aren’t even targeting livestock much and are being deterred with scary “ribbbons” that blow in the wind. Some are being tracked with collars. It was a fascinating watch.
@@occultnightingale1106 this is really interesting! Makes total sense though. I still believe in a place like Yellowstone the natural order should be maintained over removing the wolves and then adapting. That’s kind of the whole point of Yellowstone. But that totally makes sense In a more inhabited area like that where the wolves need to be under control. Thanks for that bit of education, I’m gonna look into that more!
@@princesspikachu3915 yup! It’s definitely really interesting and I think the more natural we can keep somewhere like Yellowstone the better. It’s an amazing place.

I beat his ass. Went back to see the date of the video, return to laughing and choking. Low-key hilarious.
I'm a vegan and I initially agreed with a lot of the arguments that Vegan gains made, all the way up until he proposed that we kill all carnivorous animals, which is anti-vegan and plain stupid. Carnivores have to eat meat in order to survive, and they play a vital role in the ecosystem. The vegan argument against meat eating is the fact that humans don't have to eat meat, and in fact are doing so at the detriment to not only our health, but also the environment and other animals. Killing animals not in self-defense would never be justifiable in my opinion.
“Yellowstone national park was doing fine without the wolves” except it wasn’t. And they literally had to reintroduce wolves to balance out the ecosystem
that was the comment that made me have to look down at the comment section just to make sure people are sane, and thank god im seeing people calling it out all over this comment section lol
Why is this alarming to you in any way? What do you honestly think will happen to planet Earth in the year let's say 3000? Do you think nature and forests will still exist by then or we will have full manipulation and control over every aspect of science and understanding of animals which would include figuring out how to make nature more efficient with less suffering? I swear man, people trigger themselves with the inability to think about other beings and steps ahead.
This video is way less hit piece and more measured and detailed Criticism but also explains the subject's view point in the most honest way possible. Would really love to see more content like this and the increased time and effort it takes definitely is worth it when it comes to the quality of the Video. Well Done! It helps that when tom reached out to gains, gains offered to just hangout and go eat with tom. Like a blessing or a "sure whatever dude" when told about a video on you would be fine. But vegan seemed forthcoming with tom about the whole thing. At least thats what i gleamed from when tom started talking to vegan during destinys streams. his unhinged. but i highly doubt his a sociopath consider that hes never actually harmed anyone. if anything he talks the talk without walk the walk. if he genuinly could easily hurt someone hed done it long ago, which he havent which is the opposite a sociopath would actually do. heres a little fun fact when people refer or mention homocidal urge or rage. it means you have the tendency to easily act upon set action that comes in your mind. thats what it means. his entire so called anger issue is a constant contradictory. i bet about all of it is bullshit. if anything he embellish everything he says for views and it works.
There’s a few people on quote - one specifically - who openly talks about their sociopathy in a very candid, unabashed, informative manner. I find them very interesting and knowledgeable.
This is a weirdly specific thing to focus on, but to say that Yellowstone was doing just fine without wolves is an insane take. It's extremely well-documented and is one of the best examples of *why* predators are important to an ecosystem. When wolves were wiped out of Yellowstone, elk and coyote populations exploded. Elks overgrazed on grasses and trees which loosed the soil and drove out songbirds. The soil became less stable and the river banks eroded, eventually driving out beavers as well. Not only that, but the elk's overgrazing also affected bighorn sheep, bison, moose, and mule deer, to name a few. By reintroducing wolves, beavers and aspen trees came back to Yellowstone, and more vegetation became available. In fact, the reintroduction of wolves to Yellowstone is widely regarded as one of the greatest ecological successes in recent history. By taking wolves out of Yellowstone, we broke the equilibrium and dramatically affected the ecosystem in a negative way. I'm not going to claim I'm an expert in any regard, but I AM an ecology student and it's so frustrating to see such a poorly informed take when the information is literally at his fingertips. He just ignored the facts of the situation to try and further his claim.
A lot of the people in this movement of deleting predators (which is unfortunately gaining traction) do not believe Yellowstone had any issues without wolves. They believe all the research on it is bogus. That's why he's so confident saying that.
I can genuinely understand vegans thinking humans shouldn't eat meat. I disagree but I can understand why they think that. To think no predators is the ideal is so genuinely stupid. Creatures evolved to have predators and they can't just say "wow, since last summer, my kids have been more likely to survive. I better start only having 1 kid a year." No they're still going to have their hundreds of kids, the sickly would live longer and pass on issues. Predators are necessary and natural.
@@dismurrart6648 why do you disagree that humans shouldn't eat meat? I mean sure if it's lab-grown I can understand that, but by funding animal agriculture you are funding the unnecessary and massive environmental damage of animal agriculture (burning down rainforests, ocean deadzones, one of the largest contributors to climate change, species extinction...) and funding the suffering and death of trillions of animals annually due to supply and demand why do you disagree? Unless you think it's somehow unsustainable or unhealthy? If so could you provide those arguments?
@@Sadmiralit's not possible for humans to not use animals. For modern society to exist, you need billions of pounds of oil a year to keep the world functioning. You go fully plant based and you cause the entire world ecosystem to collapse. You destroy modern society, and you need animals to be able to survive. Beyond that, I don't think it's immoral for an omnivore to eat as an omnivore. Animals should be protected but that's not the goal of veganism. Veganism isn't an objection to suffering or agave abandon cashews wouldn't be tied to veganism. It's a hyperreaction to our fear of death. It's rejection of the natural for a life that can only be sustained with modern medicines.
1:14:00 Yellowstone ecosystem was fine without wolves?!?!?! I know this guy has issues, but saying that isn't only insane, it is blatantly wrong and stupid beyond imagination. When the wolves in Yellowstone were hunted to extinction the deer population sky-rocketed and begun overgrazing to the point that other animals started dying off or migrating elsewhere. "I am compassionate to animals because they are weak and so I decree that all carnivorous life-forms should be hunted into extinction", Said the "compassionate" person.

@@TurkeyTom In the beginning of the video when you said you didn't know any other vegans does that mean you don't know about toss Peterson AKA vegan b**** or the most famous of all vegan teacher
I really like how V.G. is calm and all. He has a very clear speech. It's a great change from when he threatens to beat people up, or turn babies into a pulp under his feet. Sadly, I also find this calm somewhat threatening because of the outburst we've seen in the past. You always wonder at what point he will break and suddenly decide to punch you one step away from death.
Dude is all talk and no bite. Someone who intially tries to potray themselves as a tough boy pretty quickly find out if they actually are tough or just a poser compensating for low self-esteem. After that (if they have not gotten themselves killed by acting the fool), hopefully they do some self-reflection and drop the facade. People like vegan gains however is incapable of self-reflection, and eventually he says something to the wrong person and it's lights out. Reminds me of all those SJW's who ran around talking shit and then get completely flabbergasted when they receive a assbeating.
There's something so funny about sitting down with someone and having a real heart to heart conversation about veganism and animal rights and then naming the video "RUclips's Most Psychotic Vegan" 😂
Yeah I noticed that also... At the end of the video they are getting along really well, almost as if they are becoming best friends. I really wonder how the interaction would go if they met each other again after he watched his video. Honestly, it looks pretty obvious from his behavior that the guy seems to have invested a lot on his anger issues over the years, so I don't expect he would beat him up or anything like that. I just wonder if he would still be as open as we see him in this video. Though I also think he wasn't being an idiot, and knew upfront that his history with aggression would be mentioned in the video. I just don't think this would have been the ideal headline he would have hoped for as an introduction to his personality :P
Did you watch the entire video? Richard is very respectful, intelligent, and articulate- but he definitely is psychotic. The context of the video matters, Tom intentionally put this man's history of online (and real) disputes to show he is pretty unreasonable. Even if you agree with his stance that we should be killing apex predators, which is delusional and unrealistic, you can't agree that his nonchalant approach to saying he would absolutely murder people if he could, that the only reason he DIDN'T kill people is because he was going to get put in jail, and telling people who are going through immediate losses of family members that they deserved it are normal in the slightest. Yes, they did have a heart to heart, no, they doesn't mean this man isn't psychotic.
The painful subconscious irony of him calling people out for exploiting others for their agenda only to literally do the same that goes completely unnoticed lol
Yeah, I wanted Tom to bring up the thing with his Grandpa dying when they were talking about the guy supporting the kid with Cancer for clout. How do you not see you are the exact same
So his grandfather lived to the ripe old age of EIGHTY-TWO, and for whatever reason Richard thought he had a bad diet? Most American men, on average, have a life expectancy of 75. Does Richard not understand that, no matter what you eat, you're going to die? Age will eventually get you.
My uncles dad was almost 90 when he died and was DEFINITELY not vegan. Man loved his steak and processed meat. True a poor diet can be your undoing if you’re not careful, but so can anger due to stress raising your blood pressure. I’ve seen people with anger issues drop dead like May flies after screaming the way Richard did. Heart problems can also be hereditary. Then there are people who can eat whatever they want and STILL not suffer heart problems, high blood pressure, obesity, etc. it just depends on the person.
That’s not evidence that something is healthy though. You can find smokers that have lived into their 80, 90s etc. The oldest human ever recorded to live smoked well into her 100s. Doesn’t therefore equal healthy/unhealthy because of the longevity.
@@kirikakirikakirika Yeah, I didn’t say that longevity isn’t heavily dependant on health though. My point is one can’t claim X is healthy just because of an anecdotal case. Should be based on health outcome data.
Has near death experience, realizes life is precious Laughs at his grandfather having a heart attack and states he would kill meat eaters if it was legal.
1:19:18 Cats are obligate carnivores. They NEED certain proteins that plants do not naturally produce. So either he's been feeding the cat heavily genetically modified plants, he's been feeding the cat fake-vegan foods that contain the animal-based protein, or someone's been sneaking in behind his back to feed the cat what it actually needs to survive. If he wants pets that are vegan, he shouldn't have a cat. Period. Trying to force a cat to eat vegan is animal cruelty.
What’s the argument for this? All I’m seeing is a ramble with a bunch of vague propositions on the table. Under what modality is “need” being used? His cat is still alive and healthy.
taking the term "obligate carnivore" at face value is not using critical thinking. cats dont "need" meat to survive, they need the nutrients from meat to survive. one of the most common examples of this is taurine. taurine is pretty much not produced by any plants, and cats need to eat taurine to survive. But taurine can be artificially synthesized in a lab and then supplemented into vegan cat food. heres the real kicker, cat foods that do contain actual meat are often also supplemented with taurine because in the food making process the taurine from the meat is destroyed.
Typical cat foods are not “natural” and even though meat based they also have these nutrients fortified in the cat food (E.G. Taurine). A plant based cat food would be the same.
If he thinks obligate carnivores don't deserve to be alive please get the cat away from him, I don't doubt he's been abusing the poor thing in one way or another!
Huge respect for Turkey Tom to actually show both perspectives and being so based to actually make an interview with him and ask questions not judging.
@Blind_Hawk it 100% has not always been like that. Based was used to call someone basic, someone who has no original thought or anything that makes them unique. Essentially an NPC
Normally I would appreciate and respect the effort getting both sides of an argument. Vegan Gains is NOT deserving of that and absolutely IS deserving of judgment. He says he hates hypocrites and in the same breath will say all life is precious and then say how much he wants to murder people. He's a walking contradiction
i genuinely think this is one of your best videos yet tom, the in person segments really humanized Richard, great video man, really hope to see more like this from you, you handle in person “interviews” like this very well, in a way that doesn’t feel super robotic and hyper professional but still looks and sounds very professionally done. well done man. keep it up
I think he’s definitely neurodivergent, as an austitic person myself, his insane dedication, passion and knowledge on the topic is very in line with a special interest alongside being a lifestyle. His empathy towards animals being much larger than that towards humans, and lack of social awareness when not understanding or particularly caring about ‘socially incorrect’ ways of interacting with a situation (laughing at death, being very outspoken, double/tripling down on controversial opinions) leave me heavily convinced that he is on the spectrum. With toned down anger, management of emotions and any attempts to take a second to practice empathy, I could definitely see him succeeding in projecting his message. If not to change others lifestyles, then just to start discussion. While I did not take changing to a vegan life from his message, it definitely made me think about my dietary choices in terms of animal produce and how they may effect my body in the long run. I hope he takes time to learn, grow and adapt, because in the 1-1 conversations with turkey Tom, he has a great sense of expressing himself and his views

Interesting fact: The term "murder" in the context of the commandment "Thou shalt not kill" (or more accurately, "You shall not murder") specifically refers to the unlawful taking of human life. It is distinct from killing animals for food, which is not addressed in this commandment. In the Hebrew Bible, the laws and narratives demonstrate a clear distinction between the killing of humans and the killing of animals for food. The Hebrew word רָצַח (ratzach), translated as "murder," is used exclusively in the context of unlawful or unjustified killing of a human being. This is different from the general term for killing (הָרַג, harag), which can be used in a broader range of contexts, including the killing of animals. The permission for humans to consume animals for food is addressed in other parts of the Bible, such as in Genesis 9:3, where it is stated after the flood in the time of Noah: "Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you. And as I gave you the green plants, I give you everything." This indicates a clear theological and ethical distinction between killing for sustenance and the act of murder.
And what about murder that’s “justified” by people? Like war? Was Iraq fine because we didn’t know they were lying? I think this is Christian’s largest hypocrisy
I don't know who that is supposed to surprise, considering how the people in the bible kill animals not just for food, but also to impress the creator of objective morality
Holy shit, I’ve never seen vegan gains act like a decent human being in the entirety of the time I’ve known about him but this video actually had me thinking “Wow, he’s perhaps downright likeable in a sick kind of way.” You know, like how Kira from JoJo’s is likeable despite being a serial killer

I don't get why people align him with Tate and Onision's mental instability. Just because he was unstable at 17 years old doesn't mean he's unstable now. He seems quite stable at maintaining his point of view that animal lives precede human lives in his eyes. Even if you don't agree, he is quite right in the sense that our current carnivore diet is and will be leading to dire consequences where we'll be forced to stop eating meat/fish soon due to prices and lack of supply. The vegan moral argument that you can't krill humanely is not true at all. Not for humans nor animals and what's crazy is that although the whole moral argument for veganism hinges on this notion, pretty much no one (to my knowledge) has publically made this counter-argument, nor has the Vegan community addressed it. Then there's the vegan health argument that fruits and vegetables are better for you. Being very generous, only 23% of the world's plants are edible and those bought in stores are sterile. So animal products are thus necessary to stave off famine. Then there's the farming chemicals and natural antinutrients to consider. As for the animal product health argument, we've been eating animal products for millions of years and they've always been highly praised for sustenance the world over, long before the industrial revolution. They have a much longer track record of success. That said, I don't support post-IR factory farms, I support local ranches for both health and ethical reasons.
@KingTalion ur post makes no sense , the only point in watching this it's because ur a fan of VG otherwise why spend the time. The whole argument about sifting through conent was off-topic aswell.

Bro I'm not gonna be shamed for not caring enough about other species by an individual who doesn't even have care for his own species. It's just a ridiculously twisted worldview to hold.
No not really. Saying its twisted presupposes that humans aren't worthy of that care. I'm sure VeganGains cares about other vegans the way he cares about animals but meat eating humans can be viewed as especially vile creatures given they have the moral agency to not harm animals and yet they choose to do so. As someone who played hockey their whole childhood and now coaches when I am able to, hockey parents can be very vicious. I have seen parents at every age level berate their kids for the most ridiculous things, such as not scoring one game or messing up a two-on-one (a play that is very difficult for defensemen). 9 out of 10 of these parents clearly know nothing about the sport, so they end up yelling at their kids when they didn't do anything wrong, not that it would be justified if they had. Alongside this, these same parents often encourage their kids to start fights or blow people up, including cheering on very illegal and dangerous hits. i genuinely believe that this is the reason why I have watched so many of my and my brother's teammates become extremely violent people both on and off the ice. I myself even experienced points in time where I wanted to start fights for no reason when I hadn't been on the ice for a while, and I had fairly tame parents compared to others I played with. It's unfortunately not a surprise to me that this guy was a hockey kid. That's not to say that all hockey kids turn out like this, but it is a very concerning pattern that needs to be addressed.

As a biologist Yellowstone is definitely an example of how lacking predators causes an environmental impact. It was found the overpopulation of herbivores changes the water ways.

I was shouting at the screen at that point in the video. Of all the examples that exist (wild boar, for example), he could've found a better one.
I better start only having 1 kid a year."
No they're still going to have their hundreds of kids, the sickly would live longer and pass on issues.

Doesn’t therefore equal healthy/unhealthy because of the longevity.

taking the term "obligate carnivore" at face value is not using critical thinking. cats dont "need" meat to survive, they need the nutrients from meat to survive. one of the most common examples of this is taurine. taurine is pretty much not produced by any plants, and cats need to eat taurine to survive. But taurine can be artificially synthesized in a lab and then supplemented into vegan cat food.
heres the real kicker, cat foods that do contain actual meat are often also supplemented with taurine because in the food making process the taurine from the meat is destroyed.
The two comments above me leave me very happy that there are smart people in this world ❤
Typical cat foods are not “natural” and even though meat based they also have these nutrients fortified in the cat food (E.G. Taurine). A plant based cat food would be the same.
If he thinks obligate carnivores don't deserve to be alive please get the cat away from him, I don't doubt he's been abusing the poor thing in one way or another!

Interesting fact:
The term "murder" in the context of the commandment "Thou shalt not kill" (or more accurately, "You shall not murder") specifically refers to the unlawful taking of human life.
This. Tired of hearing vegans try and push that biblical angle when they obviously havent read the bible very closely

That’s not what the take is 🤦♂️that’s a straw man. You and the other people who liked your comment either weren’t paying attention or are being deliberately obtuse. His view is that it’s good to kill carnivores in specific instances where it would reduce overall rights violations.
When people actually attempt to argue against this position in live debates they fail hilariously, in fact, even Vegan Gains himself tried to argue against it with Dr Avi (the man who originally presented this view) and Vegan Gains ended up failing to defeat Dr Avi in that debate (which you can still find on RUclips btw), and because Vegan Gains is intellectually honest he changed his position after that debate and adopted Dr Avi’s view.

I'm sure VeganGains cares about other vegans the way he cares about animals but meat eating humans can be viewed as especially vile creatures given they have the moral agency to not harm animals and yet they choose to do so. Now I am not a vegan but his position is consistent and makes sense. If it truly is immoral to kill animals then all animal farming has been the biggest mass killing/torture/slavery ever. It makes sense to hate that yk?
@@DaltonDaDigga that's a big *if* you're implying, and *if* that's true then VeganGains would also hate animals since animals kills animals, which would make him a massive hypocrite or just morally inconsistent.

Vegan Gains is the epitome of "If everyone you meet is an *sshole, maybe you're the *sshole" and also "You're not autistic, you're just an *sshole"
Or get this, sometimes it is the case that everyone else is in the wrong.
@@Still-Struggling No, never. That is literally never the case.
@@Still-Strugglingaka you are brain dead
@@Still-Struggling are you nuts? he IS a douche
@@pablowentscobarso a black kid in a racist school getting abused or any variation of that example by race or other group differences are the problem for getting harassed and abused? It’s their fault for just existing
This logic sounds like it makes sense but it’s in no way absolute
This is like talking with someone who's there but also has a few screws lose, you can tell something or a combination of events in his life just fucked him up to a point where there's something off but you can't quite tell what it is.
Well, at least he got a vasectomy....😅
This is the type of person who would save a grizzly bear instead of a human, only to then have the grizzly bear eat him for lunch.
Nuhuh cuz he said he wants to kill animals that eat other animals
Vegan Gains was even more terrifying when he was calm and "civil". It's like watching someone handle one of those giant venomous centipedes. Just because it isnt actively biting doesn't mean it's safe to be anywhere around. He's just a predator who hasn't found a good enough reason to snap yet.
FYI Tom, percocet is oxycodone, just with Tylenol mixed with it. Oxycontin is just a brand name for oxycodone without any Tylenol cutter.
Oxycontin is the brand name for an extended release version of oxycodone, not just oxycodone
@tdbla98 ik. I wasn't trying to get to in depth. I wasn't bringing up roxycontin, immediate release oxycodone either. Don't play the "oh I'm smarter than u" game. It's extremely unattractive. I only said oxycontin cus that's what they said, and turkey Tom said oxycodone.
lol I love that doing docs on strange RUclips characters is so throughly Tom’s thing at this point, that when this one auto played and I heard the intro compilation of VG’s audio clips continue for 15, 30, 45 seconds, and then there was silence I could only think.. well I think i’m about to hear Tom’s voice… this must be a TT vi jusdeo, l need his even keeled delivery to be able to listen to the content of someone so crazy, surely this will be a turkeyretrospective … and sure enough.
As scary as this dude is, I couldn't help but wish his kid self the best, like I feel bad for the shit he went through as a kid. He needs therapy. A lot of it
"needs therapy" says the monster torturing and murdering animals every day.
Hes definitely altering what happened or why people treated him poorly. He's very clearly a sociopath and the way people reacted to him was most likely because of how he acted.
@@Krieg4Ever And what should we call you for torturing and murdering animals every day for a sandwich? What should we call you for the murder of that innocent bird that you ate for thanksgiving?
@@Krieg4EverI definitely think that if he had access to resources like therapy he'd probably do a lot better
I actually don't believe him. I think he's exaggerating. Notice how nothing is ever his fault?
