    THANK YOU ! THANK YOU ! Finally someone SHOWS which side goes DOWN. Too often the term "shiny" side is used and to me both are shiny. This was really helpful at a lot of levels. Can't tell you how many rolls it took to do one correctly. I'm brand new at this and your video was great.

    I am purchasing a Cricut Maker and some type of heat press. I have never done any projects of this sort, watching you make your tee shirt was informative and helpful! I will definitely purchase a light box - great idea. Thanks

      Not sure what I need to know yet, since I just got my Cricut but I do know I want to make some cards. Not sure "yet" how to do it with my own images. For example, if I want to have several colored balloons, or an image that is multi-colored how that works. I think that will be my next RUclips search. And I want to learn print and cut. I'm so new to this, I have a feeling I will be watching a lot of RUclips. Thanks again for the great video.

    Cricket newbie here. Excellent video, thank you for the step-by-step. Question, please. Wondering why you didn't lay the leaf and the Pumpkin on at the same time and press them at once rather than pressing the leaf then adding the pumpkin and then adding the second pumpkin?

      Hello and thanks for watching! The reason is the carrier sheets on the top. They can over lap in places and that can cause creases or not adhere properly.

  • @lindalong3925
    @lindalong3925 5 лет назад

    How do you keep the blade from cutting through the protective too sheet of the vinyl? I see you are weeding all the vinyl you don't want to iron on yet still have the protective carrier sheet intact. You can see you're holding it At 12:17 in video. The video is very helpful but I'd really like to know how to do that one part.

      Hello! You must select the correct iron-on material setting in Design Space before pushing the start button if you are using a Maker. If you are using an Explore machine, then you must spin the dial to the correct setting. The machine knows how much pressure use to only cut the material and not the liner. You must also ensure you place the material with the liner (shiny) side down and the dull side should be facing up. Don't forget to mirror the project as well but clicking on the toggle. Hope this helps! Happy Krafting!

      @@KalansKrafting I'll try it again I set it to the foil iron on but it cut both layers.maybe I should try just the iron on setting.

    • @KalansKrafting
      @KalansKrafting  5 лет назад +1

      Linda Long are you sure you are using foil “iron on” and not adhesive foil? It is very easy the get them mixed up. I would suggest just cutting a small square or circle sample so you don’t waste your material until you get the right setting 🙂

    • @lindalong3925
      @lindalong3925 5 лет назад

      It states on the label iron on foil. And that was the setting I chose prior to sending it to the machine.

    • @KalansKrafting
      @KalansKrafting  5 лет назад

      Linda Long I am perplexed as to why this is happening. You can also chose to use less pressure in Design Space. I am afraid without visually seeing everything, I am unable to help.

    I am just starting and all I have is the easy press 2 a friend of mine says you can press it with only the carrier sheet said u don't have to use the teflon which is better and thanks for the tutorial

    • @KalansKrafting
      @KalansKrafting  3 года назад

      Yes the Teflon is not always necessary. I have had carrier sheets that were not protective enough and I have burnt the fabric in areas outside of the carrier sheet. So for me, I like the extra protection.

      I am not quite sure what you are asking. I have made beautiful custom shirts for events that don't even compare to screen printed ones that have been ordered. I guess it depends on what you are looking for.

    This video was so very helpful..you explain everything step by step so I tried watching, pausing, & flip to my canvas & try to duplicate as you went thru each step (even learned how to go get the Unicorn font :) ) Please do more step by step projects for us newbies out here...I have been ALL over RUclips and too many assume we know what we are doing..ha..not so much as I have had my Maker a month and mostly just stare at it wishing it would make something...thank you for the great tutorial..now subscribed :)

    • @penelopebo

      I think a lot of us got the Cricut to "play" with vinyl..could you do various projects start to finish..like go get a simple SVG..how to get it into Design Space..then how to work with it on the canvas & then how to actually get it onto a T-shirt or a tumbler, or a canvas bag..once we have the basics on this then do same with more than one layer. Simple projects to start so we can get the basic down. Many do things so fast you can't follow where they click & they skip steps they assume we already know. I loved how you did step by step on the T-shirt. Thanks again for any help!

    you videos are so helpful! I recently got a cricut maker and I use the cricut glitter iron on but I can't get it to cut through the glitter all the way. Did you change the material setting within the Make it section? blade, Pressure, 2x pass, etc.?

    • @KalansKrafting
      @KalansKrafting  4 года назад +1

      Well some glitters are definitely thicker than others so what I would try first is still using glitter iron on setting but then you can select a pressure of more. there should be a drop-down box and you can change that and that sometimes usually helps the issue. Good luck!

    Hello can you tell me what temperature do I set the press machine to for glitter vinyl?

    • @KalansKrafting
      @KalansKrafting  5 лет назад

      I usually use about 325° but Cricut has a great guide cricut.com/heatguide Even though it meant for their EasyPresses, it can give you a good idea. Depending on the brand you are using, the packaging should tell you as well.

    Wish you could show how to do it with what the actual material looks like after buying step by step. My glitter iron on vinyl comes with a white backing and with a separate strong transfer paper, neither of which is addressed in your how to video.

      Andrea Campbell that is not HTV/Iron-on. That is regular vinyl. I have several other videos that show how to transfer and apply vinyl.

I saw you did this tutorial and am watrching it now, thanks for doing it, im subscribing to your channel and look forward to learning more from you. I was wondering...i have an old sheet saved for the material, i thought about cutting it up and doing some htv practice on that to get to know my heat press so i dont ruin any shirts right off the bat, lol, good idea??
