      if Brady & the offense dont put points on the board, or the defense doesnt keep the game close, vinateri has no opportunity to kick a game winner. The team is responsible, cant win one alone. Vinateri has one job that he might perform a total of 2-20 times per game if we are talking kickoff, field goal unit & extra point, he is only guaranteed a kickoff in terms of playing time. Now compare that to a Quarterback, let alone Tom Brady.... to say Vinateri is responsible for anything hes accomplished is a joke and im not a Brady or Patriots fan

    This is one of the most historically significant games in all NFL history. This is the game wherein the NE Patriots Kraft-Belichick-Brady dynasty was born. Amazing historical game... The fact that this was also the last game ever played at Foxboro stadium under the heavy snowfall conditions was also symbolic of this "baptism" or "rebirth" of the NE Patriots organization as the GOAT NFL dynasty.
    It's crazy watching this now (early 2019) to realize that at this time (early 2002) Bob Kraft was just another owner, Bill Belichick was just another coach, and Tom Brady was just another quarterback.
    Watching this game, nobody could have possibly imagined the Kraft-Belichick-Brady Patriots dynasty, the greatest NFL dynasty in history, was being born. Nobody could have imagined Tom Brady would be the GOAT quarterback, the GOAT NFL player period, and arguably the GOAT professional American athlete ever.

    let's not forget the clutch 4th and 6 throw in the OT. It's amazing they went for it. Wow. Goose bumps. and let's not forget how Brady avoided throwing to Woodson. He knew how good he was and he was smart enough to not take a chance.

    did the tuck rule cost the Raiders the game? Absolutely
    Did the tuck rule prevent the Raiders from starting a dynasty? Hell no.
    The dynasty was killed by Al Davis, his poor drafting, and his refusal to hire a general manager.

    • @nathaniellevesque2782
      @nathaniellevesque2782 8 лет назад +5

      Evan Mansfield I don't know about that. Considering his ego, AL Davis would force Jon Gruden out of the organization sooner or later. If Davis felt that someone in his organization was trying to eclipse him as the face of the franchise, he would try to squash him. Davis was a brilliant football mind during the 70s and early 80s, but he was losing his touch for the game by the new Millennium. Even if Gruden stayed, Davis would still have the final word on player decisions. They might have won Super Bowl XXXVII had Gruden stayed, but I don't see the Raiders accomplishing much more beyond that. The team would fall off the cliff eventually. Saying the Raiders would have had a dynasty had the call been ruled correct is just delusional thinking.

    • @wolfstar675
      @wolfstar675 8 лет назад +10

      Nathaniel Levesque
      The Raiders could have been a dynasty because they would've won this game and won the super bowl that year without loosing John Gruden and win again the next year.

    • @nathaniellevesque2782
      @nathaniellevesque2782 8 лет назад

      Enrique Godinez Looking back at the 01 Raiders, the defense wasn't that good. That would have kept them from beating the Steelers or the Rams had they beaten the Patriots. And as I stated earlier, Al Davis and his ego would have forced Gruden out eventually. Gruden was not going to last with Davis in charge. Davis would have still been responsible for draft choices and the roster was aging. The decline of the Raiders was inevitable.

    • @stealthiscool
      @stealthiscool 7 лет назад +5

      Nathaniel Levesque not getting the first down on the previous drive, poor play calling and not stopping an average Patriots defense cost them the game not the tuck rule

At that military was already in his fifth year when Sebastian was in his sophomore. So in my eyes 2 field goal kicks made under the same conditions from the same distance in the same game but only one gets recognition is not fair.
