I was at this game! Opening Monday Night! Fins took the L but what a game! From the opening ceremonies (9/11) to the high scoring fireworks. Brady throws for over 500 yards (99 yarder to Welker), Henne throws for over 400. Fun night
They say the Eagles vs Patriots superbowl broke a total yardage record for any game in nfl history with 1,151 total yards, surpassing a 1950 game between the LA Rams and NY which had a total of 1,133 yards. Bu yet this game between the dolphins and patriots had 1,137 total yards.
And yet, they were able to do well when it came to takeaways redzone defense. I still remember Cris Carter saying that year that the only reason we were 32nd in defense is because there are 32 teams. Quoting a friend during Christmas break that year, they were 35th or 36th in defense. If not for the shootout between the Packers and Lions in week 17, the Patriots D would've finished dead last in defense that year. The Packers were next to last in defense throughout the season.
That didn't age well at all. Back when he signed that deal in 2010, I thought at the time it would be his last contract and his playing days would be over by the time the contract expired. Ultimately (and thankfully), the window was still wide open and we became the team of the 2010s!
The MNF booth hasn't been the same since Tirico left. I wish they stuck with Tess for this year. He was an upgrade over McDonough. McDonough was like Ned Flanders' favorite popsicle flavor: plain.
We went 5-5 in Miami during the 2010s. While we had some costly losses down there (the ones from 2013 and 2015 cost us home field advantage) and lost 5 of the last 7 matchups in Miami during the decade, we came out relatively ok.
You’re right they are 5-5 (.500) in Miami during the 2010’s. That’s fairly decent considering how difficult it is to play there sometimes. I stand corrected.
Yo' Bart ! Did you happen to see the UFO at the beginning of the broadcast ? I bet few others did either. I have a number of UFO type videos on my channel and I am wondering how I might be able to put this on there ? Just the UFO part. It shows up at about the 10 second mark entering from stage right. Thanks for the upload....
2:07:24 Jon Gruden curses on air, with a "S" bomb. This guy needs to be fired immediately. Sponsors need to be dropped immediately. Screw this guy. He said a bad word!!!
you must not watch a lot of football. The Pats 2011 defense kept them in crucial games, ESPECIALLY the AFC championship against the ravens. Brady himself said that he sucked pretty bad that game. And in the super bowl against the giants they kept getting stops, holding the giants to field goals and the Pats offense couldn't get a single point after that opening second half drive. In games like this it's easy to say that, but if you look at the full picture, you'll see what a tough unit it was.
Ill never forget how much of a bust brandon marshall was. I remember he would always complain in interviews etc about not getting the ball enough, and then when we threw it to him, he had butter fingers ALOT ! It was so pathetic
Thank you so much Bart, these games would be impossible to rewatch if not for people like you.
If anyone is wondering what Brady would look like in a gunslinger offense that required him to make big plays...show them his 2011 tapes
Or 2021… guy has multiple career eras lmao
The people who STILL call him a system QB are among the dumbest people on the planet.

Ah dammit I need the OTHER Pats/Dolphins game from this year lol.
Lol I forgot how garbage the Pats D was this year. It's amazing we even made it to the SB
They were a sideline catch prevention away from winning the SB too...

2:07:24 Shit, you have to get rid of this ball just a split second quicker
I just heard that too! lol
Henne has a lot to learn to be a game manager. Down two scores he's running and running and running I'm just watching the clock tick away
I always forget Chad Ochocinco was with the Pats for a cup of coffee
cup of coffee what lol
@@TheAireaidLord “Cup of coffee” is a slang term used when a player is only with a team for a very short period of time

He also said it at 2:07:23 lmfao

Can you please upload Patriots at Dolphins 2012.
2011 patriots the original 2018 chiefs
Well we actually got to the superbowl
2:07:34 jaws says shit 😂😂😂
And Benny Sapp’s career came to an end after the 99-yard touchdown.
I’m sorry Sparano in those glasses just doing first pumps on the first drive you just wanted to see him get blown out lol
'Patriots window with brady closing rapidly'-boston sports witer before this game
The window is still cracked open.
Luke R. That window has been included with the time capsule located in Tampa Bay...
That didn't age well at all. Back when he signed that deal in 2010, I thought at the time it would be his last contract and his playing days would be over by the time the contract expired.
Ultimately (and thankfully), the window was still wide open and we became the team of the 2010s!
To think just one year later Aaron Hernandez would never play again, now he’s dead.
25:52
5:20 - foreshadowing
Even funnier when you consider this version was so much better
If Hernandez was not a bad man I think the pats and Brady have minimum one extra Superbowl trophy with him plus Gronk duo.
10:46 - Opening Kickoff
Gruden was the best at selling what football should really be
Why they got rid of Jaws and Gruden is beyond me.
Because Gruden got hired by the Raiders
No he was on with just Tirico for a few years.
The MNF booth hasn't been the same since Tirico left. I wish they stuck with Tess for this year. He was an upgrade over McDonough. McDonough was like Ned Flanders' favorite popsicle flavor: plain.
By far my favorite crew!! Troy and Joe are pretty good now.
Please stop referring to the Dolphins as "the Fish" people. The Fish is for the Marlins. Dolphins are mammals.
The Fish lost to the Pats
