    I was at this game! Opening Monday Night! Fins took the L but what a game! From the opening ceremonies (9/11) to the high scoring fireworks. Brady throws for over 500 yards (99 yarder to Welker), Henne throws for over 400. Fun night

    They say the Eagles vs Patriots superbowl broke a total yardage record for any game in nfl history with 1,151 total yards, surpassing a 1950 game between the LA Rams and NY which had a total of 1,133 yards. Bu yet this game between the dolphins and patriots had 1,137 total yards.

      And yet, they were able to do well when it came to takeaways redzone defense. I still remember Cris Carter saying that year that the only reason we were 32nd in defense is because there are 32 teams. Quoting a friend during Christmas break that year, they were 35th or 36th in defense.
      If not for the shootout between the Packers and Lions in week 17, the Patriots D would've finished dead last in defense that year. The Packers were next to last in defense throughout the season.

      We went 5-5 in Miami during the 2010s. While we had some costly losses down there (the ones from 2013 and 2015 cost us home field advantage) and lost 5 of the last 7 matchups in Miami during the decade, we came out relatively ok.

    • @theminuteman3460
      @theminuteman3460 4 года назад

      You’re right they are 5-5 (.500) in Miami during the 2010’s. That’s fairly decent considering how difficult it is to play there sometimes. I stand corrected.

    • @TheAireaidLord
      @TheAireaidLord 4 года назад +2

      you must not watch a lot of football. The Pats 2011 defense kept them in crucial games, ESPECIALLY the AFC championship against the ravens. Brady himself said that he sucked pretty bad that game. And in the super bowl against the giants they kept getting stops, holding the giants to field goals and the Pats offense couldn't get a single point after that opening second half drive. In games like this it's easy to say that, but if you look at the full picture, you'll see what a tough unit it was.
