JS: up there with Robben Ford, Gary Moore + Jeff Beck in his ability to deliver a stunning instrumental..... about every guitar technique you can imagine in this piece. Jaw dropping stuff: hope he comes to the UK soon....
Im watching this with Joe Schouster. He watched Josh when he played at Rays West Palm Beach Florida as a bouncer. Joe says he knew Josh would be this kind of awesome guitar player.
Saw him the other night and it was a fantastic experience. I don't think anyone went to the loo or to get a drink during the whole performance. This song was one of my favourites. Written for his wife.
This guy's guitar playing brought me back to remember what a big fan of blues guitar I really was and still have the feeling to be...just some great playing, here's to Josh Smith....
I discovered him many, many years ago, when he was "Josh Smith and the Rhino Cats"; I loved his take on "Little Wing" from their CD. He has obviously honed his chops considerably, and added a few Tatoos too. Other than that, this guy has a tremendous musicality. This is exactly why Blues music is so appealing when it is played like this. Kudos!
I was introduced to this guy's playing through one of Mark Agnesi's videos where he mentioned he thought 3 of the best players were Bonamassa, Josh Smith, and Kirk Fletcher. Amazing talent. I can listen to him play all day!
Out of all Tele's I have tried I have yet to hear one from Fender that sounds like a Tele. Its always some custom brand I have to use. He sounds so good!
+lawlaw1 you should check out Robben Ford (I guess you already knew him) & Michael Landau (fantastic dynamic player). They share the same vibe. Listening to this song is like rediscovering Josh. His song writing is superb!
I am trying to learn the majority of this song starting at a 1:30. It sounds so sweet and it is not super easy because Josh is the man when it comes to guitar.
Josh - pure badass -awesome - Holy shit, the real deal - Roy Buchannin nano - ized , the upper level of players, you are sir, I ve been watching your vids, Josh you are SUPERB. Mike.
+Ben Fletcher Yeah, that was my first thought on the first few notes of this tune! Totally hear some Roy influence- not just because it's a Tele style guitar either- his bending... beautiful.
That rarest of musical abilities to impart pure emotion in the playing. Devastating.

And all of them paying homage to the great Roy Buchanan.
