Martin Miller I don’t mind ads at all Man. Videos like this should be monetized by you guys. I’m still studying and can’t produce any money yet. Great playing by the way and thank you for sharing this.
I don't know man he's amazing and I love these guys but the hi hat isn't doing it for me. The swing is all wrong. Withers puts on a master class on this track.
Nathan Carrille I've been saying this for a few years ... trouble is blues and roots music is never gonna be big time . There's a few guys who need to be bigger though like Josh and Eric Gales, Matt scofield etc. Anyone who loves blues and guitar knows them though
@@gregdennis5107 I was just thinking that! I was 20 years old in 1978 when both Dire Straits and Skynyrd were on every jukebox in the world and these two guys playing like this is just pure joy to me! Today they call it "shredding" but back in the 1970-80s it was just a person who really knew how to play lead guitar. Man do I ever miss real rock and roll, when rap was to knock on a door--and nothing else!
Josh and Martin compliment each other brilliantly. That being said, Josh is absolutely owning this. I hope that guitar is over 18, Respect to everyone on that stage.
This is the Big Boys playground , absolute pinnacle of musicianship ,all blending seamlessly into a masterpiece of precision , passion , and damn good fun!
I liked the smile on the bass players face when Josh was playing his solo. Two incredible guitar players. I couldn't hear a bum note. A roomful of awesomeness. Giants of the music world (all of them).
I've been listening to Dire Straits & Mark Knopfler for over 25 years now, and Sultans of Swing is probably the song I will never get tired of listening even after a million times. This cover is amazing, and I heard a lot of them, but I've never heard anything like this. The foundation and structure of Sultans of Swing are there, but they managed to completely re-invent it, adding their style and feeling, without denaturing it. The solos are incredibly creative but above all, perfectly executed. Josh & Martin have merged their style into something unique. Hats on to the bass, keyboards and drums players, they all nailed it as well, amazing. Thank you guys, you really made someone happy today. Now, I will be listening this in loop for a day or two :)

And also the drummer just makes this song even better than i'm used to! Great musicians and great feel and love for the craft that is music!!
This is the video that introduced me to Martin Miller and the band. It’s such a tasteful cover of a real classic. Every part is true to the original but with clever twists, which results in one of the best modern interpretations I have encountered. Martin’s solo from 3:30 to 4:50 is amazing...every chromatic run is perfect...every tone and intonation is spot on...fantastic! Excellent music makes me laugh out of joy and this one keeps me smiling. I’ve listened to it about 50x and will continue to come back to it. It’s the best cover of Dire Straits on the planet.
Dudes, I gotta say, I'm so glad one of your videos popped up in my suggestions, I have not once been disappointed by any of them. Every one has been recorded well and always gets me cranking the volume. Excellent and very talented bunch, thanks so much for feeling the songs and conveying " your" own personal touches yet staying within the framework of the song. Best to you all, be well and prosperous. I mean that.
Martin Miller is one hell of a player, but when Josh's solo came in I got goosebumps. It's more my style and maybe that's why I liked it soooo much! Great cover, gents!
I didn't see anything bad of this Martin Miller session band. All their covers are great. Love watching those guys and the great guests they often have! Compliments and regards from Holland!
It’s funny, but all the absolutely stunning technical brilliance on display here just makes me appreciate the understated, musically-sensitive lines played by Mark Knopfler even more. The song is king, after all. This isn’t meant to be disparaging, it’s truly impressive-like when you see someone juggling fire on a unicycle and think “that must have taken hours of practice a day for _years.”_

Drummer is actually doing all the wrong things for a drummer playing with Josh Smith (excellent phrasing guitarist). He rushes, he drags, etc..
I'm a drummer and I think the drummer here is intrusive. Amazing guitar playing though.
Josh Smith's playing is just so underrated. I mean the guy is world class good. Such a dynamic guitarist
