    I always thought a fun idea for purple orks would be to 3d print them with translucent purple resin to give the illusion that they are invisible

    I love the dry brushing. It almost gives them a night appearance

      Yeah a few people have also said that to me. The gradients are really cool once drybrushing is done!

    I'm attempting this,.I felt as if they 1:1 of pink horror and flash yellow didn't look like yours.
    So I did 2:pink 1: flash yellow
    Still trying to figure the skin right

    I love how it came out but I always felt like orks are susceptible to "too much contrast" where it starts to give them a skeletal look

      @@thepaintbeast from which technique should I start painting adventure. Is there any fundamental trchnique? I want to avoid useing speed or contrast paints at the begining. Are washes necessery part of painting?

    Found this scheme and love it, just drybrushed a squad of 10boys this way, obviously not as well as this. Went to start using the contrast paint and it doesnt show up/adhere to the drybrush stages. 😢

      @@thepaintbeast much love for the reply, yeah so i prime with pro acryl black as with all my minis and did the drybrushing stages etc, I've since found out its cos the contrast i was trying to use on the models, well is pretty trash, tried a few other colours and they has no probs adhering ontop of the drybrush stages!

      Thanks! It will work with black primer as long as you stick to the other colours. The overall look will be darker but it should still look good :)

    Great effect. Are you thinning the contrast paints down with any medium or adding them neat?

      For this the contrast is neat but there is very little on the brush so it acts like a glaze rather than a contast paint.

    Does the contrast paint work well with color in the base coat and highlights? Do they mix weird?

    you showed 2 contrast greens here, how do you apply them?

      I use an old, large brush and make sure to not put too much of the paint on the brush :)

    Is it really slapchop if you’re doing multiple layer paints afterwards, and it’s only one area of the model?

      Yes :)
      Slapchop is the first stage. Then layers after. The method is called Slapchop Plus. :)

    This looks fantastic but I would say its a little deceptive to call it slapchop. It's not really slapchop, you are still layering and highlighting with regular acrylics,

      Agreed, it's what's called Slapchop Plus by most painters. So start with Slapchop, then add some extras :)
