it seems artists are just universally embarrassed by their old creations, whether thatd be visual, musical, or performative. regardless, you have made an inhuman amount of progress! Its seriously impressive
i sure am haha
Dude - I've been playing 27 years. Your progress in just 2 is unbelievable! You are clearly built to do this.
thank u bro
bro didn't practiced alot at first year them 4 months later plays G.O.A.T, trully the Goat.
You are simply incredible, I never truly thought that people are talented but you got both the artistic talent and the technical one in this little time. You must've practiced a lot really to get there. People like you inspire me so much to take the guitar and play.
i have no talent bro, no one does. talent is a myth.
anyone can do what i do. it sounds corny but genuinely,
you just need to believe that you can do it and then work to get there
real man, im 19 this year and also started at 14, my idols were sungha jung and classical guitar composers lol. except I practiced so much with bad self taught form (on a badly set up acoustic, which i realised in hindsight) I gave myself tendonitis on both thumbs lmaoooo. But its really not about talent because in the 1 year hiatus I took from guitar I taught myself production too and now that I can play again I compose my own songs too! and played a couple live shows too. hard work beats a predisposed notion of "talent" being something you are born with for sure
wow dude your vocals are impressive good job!!!
Passion + work ethic = success. You are a beast! 💪🏾
Incredible evolution ! Congrats homie
1:54 that shit is so tuff bro
This is awesome man keep making stuff for sure you can really see the beginning of you starting to shift away from the polyphia influence and making your own sound. While still wearing you influences of you chest which is super important.
thanks bro that is my goal yeah
ive been playing for like a decade and yea id say im pretty great, somehow you are way better than me in less than half the time
dude ur style is super inspiring love how it all flows together, once i practice more in some months and get better im tryna collab with u like u did w max ostro ngl
i'd love 2
Killer man, I am so excited to see what the rest of 2024 brings to musically, I love to listen.... 😊
Insane progress you've made bro, so proud of you
WOW I knew you're good, but your a prodigy! I've also been playing for 4 years, but I'm nowhere near as good as you.
thanks brother
i am not a prodigy
just worked hard
anyone can do it
You're killin it bro! Keep it up
Dude, that was the most brutal progress i've ever seen 🤯
Nice journey and work you’ve put it! Keep it up!
I was also inspired by Polyphia to pick up guitar. It's very cool to find similar people. Do you have any tips on studying guitar ?
1. you dont need to know theory to compose music
2. learning from tabs is fine
3. only play and practice things you find fun
4. when learning a song, start a 40% speed and go up by 1% at a time
very impressive James for only 4 years.... I think it will be scary at 8 years !! your hands are worth gold....take care of them at all costs !!! cheers !!!
thanks brother
one day i will be as good as guthrie govan
maybe when i'm 40
@@jamesstent hehe... the ultimate goal !! you can do it !! and I have a strong feeling it will be waaaaay before 40 !! lol
proud of you james
proud of u 2 bro
That's awesome bro. This channel gonna blow up soon I can tell 🐅🐅🐅
i hope so bro
You are one talented artist!! Which model of Ibanez are you playing and is that kill switch that you custom fitted in the guitar?
its an ibanez thbb10 and yeah its got a killswitch
You should cover/do a spin on Bach. Endless perfect harmonies and melodies combined, like no one before or since. Basically the foundation of modern music.
no i dont really like bach
hell yea!!!
i've been playing for pretty much the same amount of time and i'm still ass, i can do everything except pick fast which is the first thing everyone else learns
That’s really inspiring man. Were you missing strings a lot and sometimes it doesn’t sound too clean initially and then just eventually get better? I find it frustrating that sometimes I’ll miss strings or when ghost notes pops up.
yeap i went through all the same struggles as everyone else, i just never gave up
@@jamesstent that’s sick man, motivates me to do better. Do you always practice slow to make sure everything’s perfect or ur fingers just slowly adjusted and played perfectly even when they aren’t so clean when practicing?
@@thewilliamjrful yeap always
You have a gift
Great progress man! Keep it up 🔥
thank u 2 brother
spend 4 years to reach a level that i been trying for 10 years but still not, genius, bro you were born for this
thanks alot brother
Hella Inspiring bruh
Shit man.............fucking impressive🔥🔥🔥
What's your roadmap for practicing the guitar?
1. do polyphia
2. repeat step 1 until you have mastered guitar
Bro's got 20 years of experience in 4 years LMAO
now that's great stuff 🤩
2 YEARS, bro please, don't stop, you are clearly made for this
on it
@@jamesstent What advice can you give to get better at guitar? Or learning in general?
@@alana.4432 make sure every new song that you learn when starting out, is the hardest song you've ever tried to play
@@jamesstent that's solid bro thanks, if i ever defeat the damned gremlin that lives inside of me and tells me every time that i grab the guitar that learning songs is not worth it (i've been doing the same "improv sesh" shit for years now), i'll do as you say.
Also, you are a singer, i started to sing as well recently since i've been told i have a good voice, any tips on that? (im sorry if im being bothersome with this but i do value your word as an artist)
Thanks for sharing it
Pretty preposterous skills for being 4 years into the instrument, here's to many more!
Dude you're really talented
thank u
DUDE PLAYS GOAT RIFF AFTER STARTED PLAYING GUITAR OVER 16 MONTHS???????????

1:57 DDLC alternative theme.

You are meant to play guitar my man! Great progress ❤❤
Hope we can collab in the future ❤❤
thanks bro
maybe one day
Can you tell us how much time you spend playing guitar per day?
used to be 8 to 10 hours per day
now its more like 1 or 2
@@jamesstent I am not surprised, thanks for your response!
You've come a long way. Want to collab?
thanks bro and no not really
@@jamesstentall good :)

1:07 Is that a Deadrose?
