Dude thank you so much for your kind words!!! Really enjoyed the review! You seriously have a lot of knowledge, Sir! Even spotted my luthier, that’s rare 😃 One little correction, though: we had Justin Hombach fill in for Erik Gaßmus only for this video. So that is not Erik on the screen 😅 he‘ll be back for the next video. Cheers from Germany
Oh man. Hahahahaha. It’s funny, cause when I looked at a picture of the band, I thought “that guy doesn’t look like the guy in the video”. But hey, learning about a new band (for me). I’ll know next time. Hahahaha Again, thanks for the awesome song and video!
@@TankTheTech hey, no Problem 😃 It‘s mindblowing how much info you saw right away, and got almost all of it right 💪 Good man, really enjoy your reviews!
German guy learning about german bands through some dude from Nashville... 😅 Pretty cool sound, not entirely something I'd listen to every day but as with most of this style of music I loved the chorus, how it "opens up" for lack of a better way to describe it. Hope that makes some sense... 😅 Also cool combination of clean and growled vocals.
Same here, and in my case it's even worse, because that's EXACTLY the type of music I'm listening to above everything else. No idea how I could miss those guys, especially when their last album The Quiet Place got a really great review in our RockHard magazine. Well, that's a mistake I'll have to correct ASAP. Btw, Tank, as you like this stuff, I'd like to give you a pointer to a fantastic band from the U.S. that I recently discovered. Unluckily, they have no real videos, but their music's real good. I'm talking about Duskmourn (from new Jersey, I think) and their album Fallen Kings and Rusted Crowns. They call their stuff Epic Folk metal, and it might be right be right up your alley(Link goes to the title song): ruclips.net/video/OQdMGQ7UUr4/видео.html
Those a guys are really awesome and are really a blast to enjoy live. Even in covid times: I saw them last year in winter at a seated show and they were able to deliver a great show. Also cool guys to chat up after the show at the merch stand.
Boom! As always a awesome reaction! And I have to agree, This was so good. Loved this from the first moment. Never heard these guys before so a total suprise for me. It went on my playlist and will stay there for a long time! Thanks to you Tank for helping us out in finding so much new and old music from allover the world!
As a 33 year old German, I am discovering the German metal scene through your channel video by video. And I love it :D Keep up the amazing work and after this plague is over, we would all love to welcome you in Germany to see some of all the bands you reacted to live.
Tri-T, this is your calling right here. I'm glad you went here with your channel because I can see it in your eyes this is where you want to be. Congratulations! You have arrived. This type of music may not be "my cup of tea", but watching your enthusiasm is gratifying in its own right. Keep it going, this channel will explode!!....watch and see.
Mannn😱 was browsing the cannel after the STP new song reaction and came to this one. 😌 This is so damn cool and it's so nice on the ears WOW!. And don't be sorry for getting emotional 😄 you just love what you do and between me and you 😁 I also sometimes get emotional when I hear a awesome song 🙌🏼 so you are not alone 😉 keep it up I'm so glad I found this channel. I found it with a Falling in reverse song and I am not regreting it at all. 🤘🏼🤘🏼 Keep it up Tank 🔥
Dude, I've never heard of this band. This friggin ripped, everything from the ethereal synthy elements, the solo, holy shit. I love it. Super looking forward to hearing more from this band!
Man!!!! I have two yt accounts and I will like this video twice! This band is SICK!! And props to you to decided to "change" the format of your videos. I love that you make us aware of new bands that deserve to be known. Really thank you a lot! PS: the new intro is awesome!!!
Dude, I can DEFINITELY hear the Scar Symmetry in there, especially with the clean vox in the chorus... I can kind of hear the DT in there, but I definitely hear Insomnium more. Dark Tranquillity I feel is a bit darker in tone than this is. I love the use of the quasi-djenty guitar tone in there in parts on some of the riffing. As I"m listening, I can definitely feel a LITTLE bit of Monochromatic Stains in there. A really tasty mini-solo there as well. These guys look like they're having a blast, and just full of joy here. Long live music and metal! I felt a LITTLE bit of Between the Buried and Me where you mentioned the drum fill, and I'm talking about the 9 minute mark or so of Ants of the Sky. Something about the vocal backfill. Really cool story about the filming at Captured Live. OK, and near the end here I am getting an Iridium (Dark Tranquillity song from I am the Void). Dude, thanks so much for reacting to this and sharing it. This was really fucking good. Adding to Spotify, and I will definitely give them as many listens as I can. Really awesome that you're doing this Tank. Oh, and in case you can't hear it enough. Your reactions suck, you pause too much, blah blah blah. Just fuckin' with ya. Great job here!
Fact: I liked the previous style of your channel a lot. Also a fact: I like the new direction a heck of a lot more! Stellar job dude! And the nods to the Gothenburg sound was evident to a guy like me that has grown up with that stuff since its my hometown basically.
I remember finding these guys when I was in high school back in 2011 with their Immersion album. I've seen absolutely nothing about them anywhere else, and I'm so, so glad that they're getting more chances to be heard.
I discovered Words of Farewell in 2013, shortly after my brother's cancer took a turn for the worse. Through his decline and eventual passing, this band held me up and kept me going. As Tank said in his video, some bands connect to you personally, for me Words of Farewell truly holds a special place within. Thank you Tank for showcasing their music, we share many music interests and I cannot wait for another video ('Whispering Deeps' please!). And thank-you to everyone involved with Words of Farewell for creating such amazing music. All of you are amazing people and artists. Cheers.
Wow man, thank you for sharing such a personal moment and story here. Much appreciated, man, and I'm so happy to hear music does the same for other people as it does for me!
And this is why we love your videos and why you've grown so fast in this short time: you don't just react but give sooo much more background information, which I can't really relate too but still, for what ever reason be interested in... keep it up with the new changes. It will be awesome! Let's gooo
Dude, i recommended this band on discord back in October, over nine months ago. That's enough time to have had a baby in the meantime. Oh wait, you did... ;) (congrats again! ) Glad you finally got to them, though, they're a great band. I recommended a live playthrough of limit cycle. A bit more atmospheric than this song, but also really great. Good song to do next.
Loving melodic death metal and, damn, I could listen to the bassist (Konstantin Voßhoff) sing all night long. What an amazing voice. BTW, @Tank, what a great kickoff to your refocused channel vision. New band to me, great gear breakdown. Well played.
Absolutely amazing new discovery! Since we are on the subject of German bands and you already mentioned Cypecore in the video, definitely listen to "The Alliance" and/or " The Hills have Eyes" by Cypecore. They're a melo-death/sci-fi-death band from Mannheim and an absolute hidden gem. Also, another fairly unknown band from Germany that I can definitely recommend is Mental Cruelty from Karlsruhe. They just recently released a new album "A Hill To Die Upon". The track "Ultima Hypocrita" is an absolute recommendation in this case. The style of their new album is blackened deathcore.
First time listening to this band and holy shit I freaking love this song. The dude sounds like Randy Blythe from Lamb of God and I love it! Also, loved your Saw intro and the North Star of Nija outro.
I'm so glad to see these guys getting more exposure. I stumbled on their debut album when it came out and have been following them since. Their song "Sorae" off of their debut album Immersion was what got me hooked, maybe you could check that one out next!
great reaction :) please also check out some older songs of them like "urban panorama" or "telltale notion". personally I love to see how far this band from my hometown has come!
Well. Yesterday I watched the Video about new releases and the direction of the channel. Now I am here and absolutely not disappointed 😁👍. And as someone before me mentioned already, funny that I as a German learn about German bands from a guy living in the US 😅
Wow loved this! I got awesome chills around the same time you got emotional, very impressive. Liking this direction you’re taking with the channel, keep it up 👍
what a way to start into a saturday. Sipping on my morning coffee, getting introduced to a knew band and also "learn" about some gear stuff (actually, I will have forgotten most of the part at the end of the video^^). Stunning song, will keep an eye on them for sure!
Another great reaction! I absolutely love and enjoy your channel. I found Words of Farwell maybe 5ish years ago and was hooked from the first song. They are awesome. I have seen very very few reaction channels react to them. So, when I saw you did I was super excited.
Oh my... loved this!! Thank you for so much for introducing them!! I can't wait to play this for the husband!! I can already see him pulling his guitar out🤘🤘❤❤
Wow I don't know how to describe what I just experienced. You could totally headbang to it, and yet, it was also somehow . . . beautiful? That's good songwriting right there. I don't know how these guys have flown under the radar for so long. Btw love the new theme music \m/
Huge congrats on the new direction your channel has taken! It's so awesome to see your passion for music and the people that work together to make it happen. REALLY looking forward to continuing to watch your videos, and major props to you for making your channel unique!
THIS WAS SICK! I didn't know this band at all, imma need to check out more of them. I got some tiny hints of Soilwork in there and I LOVE IT, this was really sick, i'm blown away.
Their previous work is actually pretty great. Zero Temperance was the track I was introduced to them with (by a buddy who knew I loved Scar Symmetry), and it just checks all the boxes.
Hi tank, i really love the new direction that you tooked for your channel. with this in mind i have a band for you they came from quebec canada they are called anonymus. You should check the song decrisse . they are an awesome band but not known really widely mostly becaise they sing in french but they absolutely rock
Keep up the awesome work, majority of my spotify is now music ive discovered through your videos, and your gear talk is so interesting keep killing it bro.
Depending on what you count as "new" bands for your... errr... new channel concept, maybe you could check out Blackbriar? They're independent, released their first full album (funded Kickstarter-style by their fans) in April although they've been around for quite a while doing singles every now and then. Musically, imho they're some of the best Symphonic Metal out there - while Nightwish (not drawing this comparison lightly) are absolute masters at grandiose storytelling and of course superbly skilled, Blackbriar tell magnificently gothic and haunting fairytales like no other (again, in my opinion). Thing is, I'm kinda having a hard time choosing a specific song to recommend to you... probably the best introduction to the band is Beautiful Delirium, but that one isn't from the new album... and while Selkie is another brilliant song, it's "only" got an animated video... and seeing Zora (the vocalist) in a song like Walking over my Grave and its video really supports the feel of the entire thing... so if it's something from the new album, it probably should be that.
Found Blackbriar through their collab with Snow White Blood/Ulli Perhonen in the song Snow White and Rose Red! And Snow White Blood (symphonic metal as well) was a recommendation from YT with the song You Belong to Me feat. Danny Meyer from Oversense!😀🔥
Good stuff! I stumbled onto this earlier today. One of the first things I did was look to see if they were on Seek & Strike but it didn't say it. I dig the proper amount of cleans too.
Good song. Will definitely check out more from this band. I already like the new "discover new bands" change to the channel :) Suggestion: How about designating one day each week for checking out more from bands you've already reacted to (and liked). Like your Nightwish Wednesday's. But instead of just one band, it can be any new song from a band you've already done at least one reaction for.
God damn, this is some great stuff. I love their sound, instant place on the playlist! As always, great job on your side as well Tank, GREAT start with the new approach and direction of the channell!
This was super killer dude 🤘 Anyone else feel a bit of Sikth influence come through? I think it would be awesome to check out Vulvodynia from South Africa. They are currently signed to Unique Leader Records and they recently put up a video for Banquet of Enigmatic Horrors Part 1:Terror. I think the song is super cool and gearwise the video has a couple interesting pieces in it. I love your videos man, always excited to see new ones🖤
I'm always surprised what kind of knowledge you have. I always learn something from watching a video of you. Amazing! And gear wise the EV-1 runninggag was always funny, too. =D ;)
Couldn't make the premiere for this one, but glad to have watched it now :D this might be a good one for me to get into harsher vocals cause there's still enough melody going on. And sooo much tech knowledge here! When are you gonna dive into the keyboard gear stuff? ^^ There's only a few big brands that are mostly used anyway, and you already know their names :)
Wow. This was amazing. Fun fact, Any Given Day is a band I’ve wanted to see you react to for a long time. And if you think this guy is ripped, wait until you see their lead singer.
@@VossoVmusic Fantastic! Really looking forward to this EP, and everything that follows! And thanks for the reply, Tank doesn't know this but the only reason I watch this channel is cause he rocks that bass! Bass Players gotta stick together man! (JK tank, you know your the best!)
Thanks Tank Another band to do a deep dive onto duing the dark hours of night shift. Side note. A number of Kiwi bands are in the studio, so expect some new songs coming out soon.
LYRICS In a realm where life flows free and no reign is given I shook the coven from my eyes To inhale the dewy evening air To find long lost courage I beheld to cast a glance And let my soul slip away, beyond to pass Imprisoned I am no longer by these deceptive days I withdrew from life to discern my convictions For the longest time I had been afraid Out here, in the vast of night Reality comes apart at the seams Out here in the vast of night A new fate begins to take shape For I am the one who is born of sleep My consciousness no longer kept me afloat I submerged, saw the surface pass me by Beyond the dusky nightfall's blue I drifted Where to roam only for me to determine A lucid dream state lured me in By slumber embraced I shall wake once more Giving in to all that had gathered on my eyelids Sweet languor overwhelming, wistful trance come onto me Heal my yearning, to let go of this waking world For in sleep I am reborn Out here, in the vast of night Reality comes apart at the seams Out here in the vast of night A new fate begins to take shape We will not at death's gate slip and fall But triumphantly dance around it all For time immemorial So just close your eyes to sleep, close your eyes Just let go, just let go and drift into the deep
Gonna second this, i first learnt about them in, i think, 2014 with their diamonds Cover, and they were a huge influence on me getting a lot more into metal. So yeah, good stuff😁
Glad you enjoyed our music! Pretty cool you may be checking out past stuff of ours hope you find some music you enjoy just as much! Thanks for the video!
If you liked that, may I recommend trying a band called Raintime? Small band that I randomly found years ago now, but really good stuff, I think the song I loved was 'Flies & Lies'!
Ha!...you found me a new alley things could be right down for me 😏😆 I don't usually dig that kind of harsh vocals too much. But that song was awesome and the vocals did fit in. Thanks a lot Tank. New world for me to discover. Would never have stumbled upon this without you. Knew you wouldn't disapoint when you anounced to change your channel a bit.🥰
That's kind of killing me because the lead singer and i went to the same lectures at the university and i never ever imagined to see him and his band being featured on one of my favourite reaction channels...
Seriously, if you enjoy WoF as much as I did for the past 5 years, I recommend listening to the following songs: •Sorae •Vagrant Story •In Kingdoms of Rain •The Outer Rim •Temporary Loss of Reason (this one is amazing) •Antibiosis (in my own top 3) •Riven (the first song I listened) •Gaia Demise •Limit Cycle •This Shadow My Likeness And the whole Inner Universe EP Rock on!
Well this was !SORRY! sweet! Hahaha. Have you ever heard the band Khemmis? I think Erik in this band and the lead vocalist from Khemmis sound identical. I was put through a trip on this first listen and had to compare the members from each band. Lol.
Damn, didn't know they released a new song yesterday. I love WoF since I discovered them with the first album. You should definitely check out Whispering Deeps from their 4-track EP last year, majestic! 🤘 🤘
The music is really great. And even though I usually don't like harsh vocals, in this case the vocals are not as nerve-wracking as of many other screamers. Like it.
2014 - My first Rockharz-Festival. and my first festival at all. This Festival normally begins on Thursday, but there is a small stage on Wednesday, for some bands. I think Words of Farewell was the first Band of the day. And my all first Band on a festival. And they were great! A friend of mine went to the Merchshop and bought a "Words of Farewell"-T-shirt right after their performance ended. They walked all the time across the Festival area and filmed for the musicvideo, and saw the T-shirt of my friend. So they came to talk with us and we did a Photo together! It was the perfect way to start in my first festival! ruclips.net/video/f4frDBykR-Y/видео.html this is the video. at 3:06/3:07 u can see us posing with them
I love that you give attention to new bands, an old but unknown band is Walking dead on Broadway you might like! BUT, if you havn't already listened to it PLEASE do a reaction to Shadow of Intents new single!

"Metal will be back". A: It never left our hearts. B: Reminds me of Tenacious D. 😂
Also, interesting band. I'm pretty intrigued.
Good song. Will definitely check out more from this band.
I already like the new "discover new bands" change to the channel :)
Suggestion: How about designating one day each week for checking out more from bands you've already reacted to (and liked). Like your Nightwish Wednesday's.
But instead of just one band, it can be any new song from a band you've already done at least one reaction for.
This is awesome man i must check out more music from this band, thank you Tank 🤘🤘🔥🔥
If this is where you are heading with your channel, man my wife will punch a hole in my creditcard!
Yup, I was asleep. One of my sudden , out of the blue, involuntary power naps. Damn it! I LIKED this vid!
This band is phenomenal, if you don't dig this song in particular try their previous albums, fantastic stuff really.
This band is really good, in there music here a lot of music influence. Great video and band. HADGD.
Love the new intro!!
That shit was fire, no pre-order for the EP? I would throw my money at that immediately.....Great reaction Tank!
Coming soon ;-) (I play bass too :-P )
🙌🙌🙌
The second I get any info I’ll throw a link and here and update it! Thanks for stopping by, Konstantin!
@@VossoVmusic Fantastic! Really looking forward to this EP, and everything that follows! And thanks for the reply, Tank doesn't know this but the only reason I watch this channel is cause he rocks that bass! Bass Players gotta stick together man! (JK tank, you know your the best!)
Thanks Tank
Another band to do a deep dive onto duing the dark hours of night shift.
Side note. A number of Kiwi bands are in the studio, so expect some new songs coming out soon.
Seek & Strike also Signed Abbie Falls, heavy Metalcore with sick breakdowns from the Czech Republic 🤘🔥
LYRICS
In a realm where life flows free and no reign is given
I shook the coven from my eyes
To inhale the dewy evening air
To find long lost courage I beheld to cast a glance
And let my soul slip away, beyond to pass
Imprisoned I am no longer by these deceptive days
I withdrew from life to discern my convictions
For the longest time I had been afraid
Out here, in the vast of night
Reality comes apart at the seams
Out here in the vast of night
A new fate begins to take shape
For I am the one who is born of sleep
My consciousness no longer kept me afloat
I submerged, saw the surface pass me by
Beyond the dusky nightfall's blue I drifted
Where to roam only for me to determine
A lucid dream state lured me in
By slumber embraced I shall wake once more
Giving in to all that had gathered on my eyelids
Sweet languor overwhelming, wistful trance come onto me
Heal my yearning, to let go of this waking world
For in sleep I am reborn
Out here, in the vast of night
Reality comes apart at the seams
Out here in the vast of night
A new fate begins to take shape
We will not at death's gate slip and fall
But triumphantly dance around it all
For time immemorial
So just close your eyes to sleep, close your eyes
Just let go, just let go and drift into the deep
Another newer band that I don’t think you’ve reacted to is any given day (also from Germany). I love their music and I think you might too
Gonna second this, i first learnt about them in, i think, 2014 with their diamonds Cover, and they were a huge influence on me getting a lot more into metal. So yeah, good stuff😁
@@TheRolf1996 absolutely. When I heard home is where the heart is by them it became my favorite song pretty quickly
Any Given Day is brutal muscle core 💪🏻
@@cursedsphynx the definition of gym core dude 💪🏼
I've been a fan of WoF for years. I'm surprised none of you have heard of them before. Keep up. 🤘
I am so thrilled to see you checking these guys out. i found out about them when their 2nd album dropped and have been a huge fan since
Glad you enjoyed our music! Pretty cool you may be checking out past stuff of ours hope you find some music you enjoy just as much! Thanks for the video!
And thank you for the killer music! Glad I discovered you guys and can’t wait to keep listening to more!
Seeing your RUclips recommended list how could I not request a reaction to the Best of Shoresy from Letterkenny \m/
Hahahahaha. I’ve watched it so many times.
Music, bringing us together and keeping us sane. Thanks for the new music. BTW, soooo much info you are dishing out. Love it!
First impression was "wow it reminds me of Dark Tranquillity"
If you liked that, may I recommend trying a band called Raintime? Small band that I randomly found years ago now, but really good stuff, I think the song I loved was 'Flies & Lies'!
Ha!...you found me a new alley things could be right down for me 😏😆
I don't usually dig that kind of harsh vocals too much.
But that song was awesome and the vocals did fit in.
Thanks a lot Tank. New world for me to discover. Would never have stumbled upon this without you.
Knew you wouldn't disapoint when you anounced to change your channel a bit.🥰
They come from my home area and I've never heard of them?! How can that be?
Funny, I just found out about that band yesterday, so what a coincidence that you react to them today :D
That's kind of killing me because the lead singer and i went to the same lectures at the university and i never ever imagined to see him and his band being featured on one of my favourite reaction channels...
What a small world!
@@TankTheTech Oh and he is a really good photographer as well: nicolasalexanderotto.net/
"i can hear big time Gothenburg sound" - ya, literally Dark Tranquility
Seriously, if you enjoy WoF as much as I did for the past 5 years, I recommend listening to the following songs:
•Sorae
•Vagrant Story
•In Kingdoms of Rain
•The Outer Rim
•Temporary Loss of Reason (this one is amazing)
•Antibiosis (in my own top 3)
•Riven (the first song I listened)
•Gaia Demise
•Limit Cycle
•This Shadow My Likeness
And the whole Inner Universe EP
Rock on!
🤘🤘🤘
That's why I love Tank - he's haeadbanging anyway, and so am I 😆🤘
Well this was !SORRY! sweet!
I checked it yesterday. loved it! melodic and nice!
Funny! Before the hat came off I was wondering?…. How long will the hat stay on? LETS GOOOOO!!!!!!
Hahahaha. Herf! Hope you’re doing well, man!
I’m good! Love the new stuff. Keep on rolling Man.
The music is really great. And even though I usually don't like harsh vocals, in this case the vocals are not as nerve-wracking as of many other screamers. Like it.
Agreed....same feeling here.
Bruh nice Sound love it 🤘🏼🔥🤘🏼
2014 - My first Rockharz-Festival. and my first festival at all.
It was the perfect way to start in my first festival!

this is the video. at 3:06/3:07 u can see us posing with them
So your first ever experience at a festival was hearing words of farewell? Maybe you've got Merlin's ;P
Yeah, I remember you guys :) Rockharz was great 🤘🤘🤘
I love that you give attention to new bands, an old but unknown band is Walking dead on Broadway you might like! BUT, if you havn't already listened to it PLEASE do a reaction to Shadow of Intents new single!
If you like this you should definitely check out “gaia demise” by these guys. Know them for years now and they freaking rock
