What makes it bad is that I feels like a phone in, it feels like no one cares about the movie. Even Hugh doesn’t feel that into it. The CGI is abysmal, the writing is corny, each character is either corny or a poor interpretation of the character in the comics, the whole thing feels predictable, the editing is abysmal, and most of all it makes one of the coolest X-Men underwhelming, and now that we have movies like Logan and The Wolverine it really puts the perspective into our minds, “we could’ve gotten better”.
Idc what the masses say. I loved this movie. It was a great origin story. Especially since we get a backstory of Sabertooth as well. I know different comic book writers have changed the relationship/connection between him and Logan over the years, but I do like them being half brothers for this story arc. It made sense for the story. It also puts into perspective why they don't like each other, even though they can't remember each other. Once Victor's mutation turned him more into beast than man, his mind went kind of neanderthalish. He was just a savage beast acting on pure animalistic behavior. That was a consistency that goes with the first Xmen movie. And this is definitely not a popular opinion, but I really loved the display of Wade's blade power in this one. It looked SOOO BADASS! Especially seeing a bullet coming at him then splits it in half while simultaneously redirecting their trajectory at the two guys behind him. That scene was amazing. Imo. Will I Am was underused. They never touched back on bringing Gambit back, which was a shame. I liked that actor. Him and Sebastian Stan/Bucky were in THE COVENANT together. Good little teen angst supernatural movie. But the icing on the cake was the running naked and then the body shot of Hugh in the barn. My god!🥰😍 The ending with Charles showing up, walking, though....complete inconsistency. Wade in the beginning was dope. Weapon IX at the end (played by a different actor btw) was eh but he wasn't Deadpool. Honestly, I find what Black Widow did to Taskmaster and what Captain Marvel did to Mar-Vell more insulting.
What they did to “Taskmaster” is arguably the worst live action comic book character adaptation to date. I’d put it up there with FOX’s handling of Dr. Doom and Galactus. I’m hoping the MCU uses their terminology to retcon it. By this I mean, the film called it the “Taskmaster protocol”. They could very easily say she was just programmed and based around the ACTUAL Taskmaster, and that he’s still out there somewhere
@@rileyribble6733 I think we will get the actual taskmaster in the future ..... Cuz drekov's daughter was a part of the 'taskmaster protocol ' .... So they could have possibly created another taskmaster ....... There's still hope
Unpopular opinion but i actually really enjoy this movie. Its probably the Xmen movie I've watched the most even tho they do deadpool dirty and the cgi claws are dumb. They show off a lot of cool characters, its the only time we ever see gambit and he's perfectly casted, we see a few other mutants, we see Logan happy for a while then watch him go on a rampage, we get to see how old Logan really is as he's been through every war. I just find it a fun watch with a really good cast although the plot could use some work the fights are still really cool and sabertooth is such a beast.
For me it‘s the backstory for Logan. Seb said it was pointless because he forgets about it, but I love it. Also Scott I liked very much. I guess I have to call it a guilty pleasure, but only because others hate it lol.
Gambit can add energy to other objects, the way that they mostly show him doing this is by making those objects explode. So he picks up a ball transfer energy to it making it explosive and then throws it at the enemy. However making things explode isn't his only skill or really his skill at all, it's just the one that they used the most.
I genuinely like this movie (and I don't think Will.I.Am is that bad.) What DOESN'T make sense: 1-Waiting until Zero (the guy who never misses a shot) is dead to introduce the adamantium bullet. 2-Gambit coming back to interfere with the Wolverine/Sabertooth fight when all he wanted a minute ago was to get away. 3-Logan deciding NOT to go with Gambit, the only person who seems to know anything about him, after his memory is wiped.
Gambit's power is storing kinetic energy inside inhanimated objects and then release it. Simplified he can turn any objects he wants into a bomb that he can then make explode but he often relies on using playing cards as weapons.
5:13 Fun Fact - Adamantium is a metalic alloy made by mixing melted Vibranium and Steel together, then set to form into a new alloy, Adamantium. So I reckon that's actually Vibranium And they were searching in Africa for more of the Vibranium rock. Chances they found Wakanda
So my favorite comic thing that was never mentioned was the fact that Every single birthday Sabertooth hunts down Wolverine and kicks his ass (Logan rarely beats him even with metal claws). Also Weapon X is the 10th in the line of super soldiers that Cap is the first in.
I actually really like the origin story itself, and the story is pretty interesting especially with him and his borhter, but could have been excecuted better especially at the end.
Cyclops doesn't fire lasers from his eyes. he fires a force blast. The movies get this wrong all the time, and even in the comics some writers get it wrong.
The only good part of the film is, indeed, the opening credits. The conflicts shown are: 1. The American Civil War (1861-1865) where they're fighting on the side of the Union wearing blue against the Confederates who are seen in grey flying the Confederate Battle Flag. 2. World War 1 (1914 - 1918) presumably on the side of the Allies as they're being bombed by a German plane and look to wearing British uniforms. 3. World War 2 (1939 - 1945), specifically the D-Day landings at Normandy (June 6, 1944), in what looks like American uniforms. 4. the Vietnam War (1955-1975) flying in an American helicopter
Wolverine’s/Logan’s real name is James Howlett! If you look closely in “Logan”, you’ll see that the dna source used for X-23/Laura is labeled “James Howlett”! :)
One thing people complain about Cyclops's character throughout every X-Men movie is how inconsistent his optic blast is because they always depict it in different ways. But in the comics it's well established that his optic blast are concussive so they don't burn anything like a laser would. And like the source of the concussive force comes from another dimension that his eyes open into or something like some people are going to need to help me out here 🤣🤣🤣
I love how in DP2, Deadpool fixed everything by going to the old timeline and killing himself for good. I dunno why they even made this Deadpool survive.
In the comics, Sabertooth (Victor) and Logan aren't brothers. Sabertooth is actually his arch nemesis. They view their mutations vastly differently, and both think the other is wrong.
His name's James Logan, that's why they called him James/Jimmy but in the military you go by your last name, so on your dogtags it'll have your last name not your first. So once he lost his memories he didn't even know his name until he looked at his dogtags from the military which again only have your last name hence why his name is Logan from that point on.
Whoever told you that Morbius thing was lying this movie is the definition of fine, it’s okay. Sure they butchered deadpool and that all I’ll say about that (I broke the rules enough mentioning it at all, we do not talk about it) but It was still a fun movie, it made the popcorn more fun to eat and that’s all I really need whatever else I get is just a bonus
The old couple are a comic cameo most people missed. In the comics a younger version of the Mcdonalds found Wolverine. They went on to become Guardian and Vindicator of Alpha Flight, Canada's super team. They have a different backstory in the comics.
Remember working so hard for weeks as a wee lad to get my hardcover version of Barry Windsor-Smith Weapon X, loving wolvie and the xmen so much back then and now its just like wtf has become of them : P
Honestly the real issue with this whole movie is that it just feels like a TV movie you'd find on the Syfy channel, about a guy born with animal DNA giving him claws and a government scientist trying to hunt him down for Evil Science Purposes. It got the BASIC parts of Wolverine right but missed all the deeper complexity, and instead just heaped on a pile of melodrama instead. I'll even go so far as to say that while this film's version of Deadpool is miles away from what Deadpool is... I actually like it as it's own thing. A cyborg-zombie-ninja with swords coming out of it's hands? It's actually kinda badass. It doesn't help that it was trying to adapt about 10 different comic stories into one film, so it was basically doomed on arrival. To clarify about Gambit's powers: they're a little hard to explain. Basically, he can 'charge' an object with kinetic energy, then throw it, making it explode on contact with something. The reason he uses cards so much is because a single pack of cards gives him 52 'bullets', so they're handy to keep on-hand.
I actually love this movie. I know everyone doesn't appreciate how Deadpool is disrespected in this movie. But, other than that, I don't see why its hated so much. I appreciated seeing Logan's backstory with his brother and that Sinister Colonel Striker. And Will.I.Am was actually pretty decent too.
16:2317:40 It would be cool to see Gambit in the MCU when they finally introduce mutants. I'm not too familiar w/ his character since I don't read the comics (I've only seen him this & the animated shows), but he definitely seems like a cool character to help mutants make their debut lol.
I was so excited for Gambit to be in this movie and he was just kinda nothing much. In every depiction I'm aware of, Wolverine's memories are erased or damaged but slowly heal over time, but they're usually erased again at some point so he rarely ever gets them all back. Incidentally, the Wolverine podcast, the two "seasons" of which are titled The Long Night and The Lost Trail, is _well_ worth listening to.
This is one of my guilty pleasure movies. Partly because I'm a huge fan of will.i.am & the Black Eyed Peas, so I just love that he's a part of it, even if his character was criminally underused
So there was this Fan Theory I read on the internet that eases some of the pain of this movie. In the X-Men films, they make it clear that the general public finds out about mutants and that the X-Men become semi-famous/infamous. Origins is an example of the kind of movie that, in universe, mutant-haters would make as anti-mutant propaganda: take some of the most powerful well known mutants, and show them as especially violent and dangerous. Sure, some of the characterization is off, and the story doesn't really line up well with the already somewhat disjoint timeline, but that's because the people in universe making the film didn't care about making it good as long as they could show mutants in a bad light.
I still actually enjoyed this one quite a bit. The "deadpool" at the end was obviously an abomination, but most of the movie actually wasn't bad. Loved a lot of the actors and characters - this one gave me a lot of hope for a Gambit movie - I know they had one planned for a while but I don't think it ever went anywhere.
I feel like the only reason people call his shit is because of the Deadpool at the end. If that was any other creature, just a mutant composed of different mutants, people would've preferred it a lot more.
The only reasons why I defend this movie are: Hugh is great and Deadpool made it hilarious. Logan is one of my favorite characters, but I was like "wtf is happening?" after 2min into the movie. 😅♥️
U gotta admit tho. This movie does an amazing job with the whole opening sequence. Really good backstory, and sets up the brotherly bond really well, and how his brother slowly goes crazy and his lust for killing. But yeah then the movie gets kinda funky and cheesy lol. Weird cgi too. But it’s genuinely a very entertaining movie. Way better than morbius

And he's a New Orleans gambler.
I am excited for the LOGAN reaction
Take a shot every time Seb says 'ayy yoo' you'll be wasted...trust me 😂😭
I actually love this movie. I know everyone doesn't appreciate how Deadpool is disrespected in this movie. But, other than that, I don't see why its hated so much. I appreciated seeing Logan's backstory with his brother and that Sinister Colonel Striker. And Will.I.Am was actually pretty decent too.
Idc whut anyone says, I love this one. Prefer it, actually.
16:23 17:40 It would be cool to see Gambit in the MCU when they finally introduce mutants.
I'm not too familiar w/ his character since I don't read the comics (I've only seen him this & the animated shows), but he definitely seems like a cool character to help mutants make their debut lol.
“Gambits kinda sick, well in the comics, maybe not in this adaptation” said everybody who saw this film
Would have loved to get your honest reaction without a bunch of morons in the comments "poisoning the well" against the film.
You should watch Spiderhead. It's on netflix and avaliable in the uk. I think you would enjoy it as I think it is really good
12:07 Just the bones, Seb. The actual ones. 🤣
Gambit yields kinetic energy to any inanimate object but he usually use cards because it's easily portable
His name is James Howlette, or How something, and Victor is his halfbrother. Don't know where Logan came from, but wolverine was to honor his wife.
I watch this sometimes. My favourite scene is 100% the opening sequence with the wars
cant wait for logan reaction, have a tissue box just incase.
Taylor was an amazing Gambit. I wish he was in other movies like Days of Future Past
Gambit uses kinetic energy to charge objects and make them explode.
Fun fact! Adamantium is a blend of steel and vibranium!
The homoerotic innuendos are hilarious 😂
I feel like the only reason people call his shit is because of the Deadpool at the end. If that was any other creature, just a mutant composed of different mutants, people would've preferred it a lot more.
i love the avatar references 🥲
Of course he needs to block the laser with his claws, otherwise he would be blown of the building
I love Kevin Durand as Blob in this movie!
This movie is like three movies combined in one
In the final battle the reason Victor saved Logan is because he said no one kills him but him
Have you done the Resident Evil series? If not I highly request it! This level of what the hell but entertaining xD. I love them lol
