Oscar Isaac said in an interview, while promoting Moon Knight, that he has regrets starring in this movie. He said it was a fun experience but thinks that the writers made Apocalypse more of a cartoon villain rather than a serious one.
I feel like Apocalypse was a huge missed opportunity, he could have been so powerful, intelligent and calculating that this could have almost been a horror movie with all the terrifying ways he was able to use his powers, if only that's what we got.
He DID almost win, and he did use his powers in a lot of horrifying ways like controlling all the nuclear operators in the world and burying people in walls. The problem is that like Ultron, he had to be dealt with in just one film, which makes him seem less impressive. Still, it took nothing less than the Phoenix to destroy him just like in Ultimate X-Men.

Poor Oscar Isaac said it was really uncomfortable in the costume and he could barely move his head/see anything the entire time. He said it was not the comic experience he was hoping for, but Moon Knight redeemed his experience as a Marvel character!

Also mind you, this is the first time in the films where Magneto has his force-field. In most other media, Magneto was known for almost always using his force-fields in battle. It is almost impossible to break them as well. I wished he had used this ability more often.

Jean is one of my all time favorite comic book characters (currently second to Wanda Maximoff) but I feel like her story has never been explored to its full potential. Can’t wait for the X-Men to make their way over to the MCU.

Apocalypse is meant to be a Thanos-level villain, but like Ultron he was diminished by having to be beaten in one film. I still appreciate like this one and will defend it, just not as much as the previous two.

He wants to do genetic experiments on mutants to create his own group of super powered mutants. He is obsessed with doing experiments on Jean Grey and Cyclops in the comics. His experiments helped create the birth of Cable and an evil opposite version of Cable called Stryfe.
X-Men Apocalypse is a good movie but people were over hyped for it. They make it to be a bad movie but it is better than X-Men Origins Wolverine, X-Men The Last Stand, New Mutants, and X-Men Dark Phoenix. That said you need to still watch X-Men Dark Phoenix.
It had nothing to do with hype, it really was that bad. Worse than New Mutants. Much worse than Last Stand. About on par with Origins. And at least Dark Phoenix had a cool soundtrack. Apocalypse has got jack squat going for it. Just an awful experience in every way start to finish.
I wouldn't really say he needs to watch Dark Phoenix, it's a bit of a meh way to end the X-Men films. The train fight is cool, and I don't even hate the film it's just sad that that was the last the X-Men film.

I HATE how weak and useless they make Storm in these movies..... Don't get me wrong, I understand weakening her powers somewhat, because in the comics you could argue that she is way too OP to be properly portrayed in the movies (I mean, if she had her comic-book ability to zap a giant crater into the Earth's surface or freeze someone's blood vessels or suck all the air out of a person's lungs, you basically wouldn't have a conflict in the movies at all....) HOWEVER, they didn't have to go so overboard when nerfing her! She's so embarassingly pathetic, it's always been my main complaint about these movies, along with how they neglected my boy Gambit. Also, they desperately need to do a better job of casting an actress for her that really looks the part and has a more commanding presence....
1 of the reasons, probably the biggest is the cgi and everything else that goes into making OP characters like that fight in love action is just too expensive. So that's not likely to change anytime soon

Even Electro in the Amazing Spiderman 2 had way cooler looking lightning powers than Storm. In these movies it looks like cheap after-effects. Beyond that, the way she uses her power over weather is not creative at all either.... She is nothing more than a fog machine half the time. I liked the way she created multiple tornados in X2, but for some reason she only really did that to escape fighter jets and never really thought to use more powerful moves like that mid-battle. Since we have seen how cool the MCU CAN make Thor's powers look, they should have no problem giving some of that same attention to Storm's powers in the future.
When you get to Dark Phoenix, don't expect it to feel like a superhero movie. It tries to be more like a psychodrama about Jean descending into madness.
I hated when Hanoi died. Seeing Cyclops loss his brother. I really liked havok. Professor x did tell him to wreak havoc and he did. He was also trying to protect them. He was one of the only a Ones to hAve powers that would do damage. It's always looked like they raided the wardrobe on the set of Stargate. Dude looks EXACTLY like a Jaffa! EXACTLY!! This movie was sad. Cosplayers did SO MUCH BETTER that year with that costume.
I think the worst part of this movie, for me, was that Katniss Everstique was made into some kind of hero that they had the nerve to have Storm look up to. Storm has been my favorite hero since I was 7 so that was foolishness and fuckery, imo. So b/c Jennifer Lawrence is a hero in another franchise, you completely destroy one of best enemies of the X-Men? Stupid. But as with the very first X-Men movie, I had to suspend all canon knowledge and accept that all we're gonna get is typically mediocre executed, barely-knowledgable X-fanfics.

I feel like the only explanation for the continuity not being accurate in Apocalypse or Dark Phoenix is that it's kinda like what DC did with Flashpoint, where if you change one thing, it makes a ripple in time, leading to a whole new timeline.
They fumbled Apocalypse in this movie (like majority of the mutants Fox shows us) Apocalypse is to the X men, what Thanos is to the Avengers…. And you can’t tell with this movie.

It's always looked like they raided the wardrobe on the set of Stargate. Dude looks EXACTLY like a Jaffa! EXACTLY!! This movie was sad. Cosplayers did SO MUCH BETTER that year with that costume.

I think the worst part of this movie, for me, was that Katniss Everstique was made into some kind of hero that they had the nerve to have Storm look up to. Storm has been my favorite hero since I was 7 so that was foolishness and fuckery, imo. So b/c Jennifer Lawrence is a hero in another franchise, you completely destroy one of best enemies of the X-Men? Stupid. But as with the very first X-Men movie, I had to suspend all canon knowledge and accept that all we're gonna get is typically mediocre executed, barely-knowledgable X-fanfics.
I wholeheartedly believe that making Mystique a main character for FC, DOFP and apocalypse doomed the series. Less time was spent on the main X-men and more on her
@@brandoncowan4422 it's obvious they only did it to supposedly capitalize of her game in the other franchise and it just makes it stupid AF. Like no one wanted that and the characters started to have similar mannerisms, etc. I honestly didn't think she was that good in these movies, I've liked her in other stuff but hey, at least, it's not as bad as Amber Heard's Mera, so there's that, I guess.

I feel like the only explanation for the continuity not being accurate in Apocalypse or Dark Phoenix is that it's kinda like what DC did with Flashpoint, where if you change one thing, it makes a ripple in time, leading to a whole new timeline.
