Starting like this, I can't touch my phone until i honestly completed my work for the day. IT WAS TEMPTING, Switched it off, hid it. Man i did that for 2 days its ❤ Going to start a 21 days challenge and extend even more. 23/07/24 Ill come back to this video after 21 days to show yall that you can do this! Mr.Ecomsoup keep on motivating.
Video came at such a synchronistic moment. Spent the past few days being productive, with 0 phone use. Realised how the past couple years have been defined by me not reaching my goals and instead have been filled with hollow screen time. I also had the exact same thought about thinking and I experienced that same inner solidity- removing the phone truly frees up mental space and allows you to explore so many more angles of whatever it is you're doing. By simply thinking during your breaks rather than going on your phone, you can be productive even during your breaks. Great stuff.
Yeah it's huge! Congrats on no phone use for a few days... it's crazy. Hope you keep going down the zen path and thanks for watching / commenting / synchronising lol
I've not had my phone for 2 months now due to me breaking it and I can say its one of the best things that have ever happened to me I've had the best ideas while not having it!
Cutting out negatives like your phone is definitely a move. One of the reasons ideas "come to people" in certain situations is akin to flow state. Driving, showering, these are near-autonomic, we don't have to think about them. For some (the people whose ideas come in those situations I bet), those are enjoyable activities. Participating in something you enjoy, that gets you moving, while not overly taxing your brain increases neuroplasticity, literally creating new connections in the architecture of your brain - "connecting the dots." And then all of a sudden you have a new idea.
Extrodianary content you have been pumping out. The dedication you put into these videos is stellar and you might be glacing at this comment and move on because of course im just a random person commenting on your video from across the world but for me personally your videos mean a lot for the amount of value and education you put in them. Thank you.
This one hits home for me I’ve struggled with my phone for years for the longest time I felt like a dopamine-addicted rat in a Skinner experiment. Ironically my solution was actually to buy another phone. an iPhone 7 with parent lock set up on it for basically every app and nothing but my SIM card & essential Apps. I still have my main phone but try to only use it on the weekend. It a little extreme but it’s the best method I found short of just getting a flip phone.
This is what watching house of dragons does to people. David will now send ravens to communicate with his team All jokes aside, thank you for this video. I will start limiting the amount of time I can spend on my phone from today, not using it before 12 pm sounds like a great way to start!
@@EcomSoup Started to wonder how you navigate. No Apple maps. Now thinking, do we really need to... Turns out David's using the 66th edition of UBD Perth and Surrounds street directory.
Can you talk about how to train my mind to think? I feel like I’ve just been in loop of doing and doing but without much in depth thinking. I feel like I don’t have much thoughts.. lol is that weird
I think going on a detox is not that great, your brain knows that yes it's going to get away from the easy dopamine hits, but it also knows that soon enough it can go back to it, the best way to actually detox is to just control your phone/pc usage and make the most of it while avoiding the instant and easy dopamine from social media. The videos are great tho i've been watching for a while keep it up :D
I was just searching for an old nokia to replace my Iphone13 about 30 minutes ago... what a coincidence! I feel like my smartphone and all the distractions that come with it are holding me back.
30 days without phone starting today. Contact me via messenger pigeon or morse code.
😂 i will try smoke signals

UPDATE : I FAILED MIDWAY.
Due to some unavoidable life events.❤
AGAIN WITH MORE DISCIPLINE.
Deleting instagram was the best decision. My screen time is half the time that it used to be before feeling gooddd👍
haha instagram is the devil

Amen brother, great insight!
I need to spend 12 hours in the shower, cooking up new ideas
Never imagined the algo would serve me such great content from my own hometown. Geat stuff, subbed.

Absolutely! You don't quite realize the full extent it saps your presence and awareness till you dedicate time away from it.
amen - what's your screentime like Jack?
@@EcomSoup 1-2 hours tops brother if we're talking phone time.
This is crazy sauce, I've been doing a challenge where every 30 days I eliminate one of my bad habits and it's life changing!
Awesome brother, what one are you doing at the moment?
@@EcomSoup Soon im going to be removing all content consumption, short form and long form unless it's for work purposes or educational
Great advice, love the personal styled updates.

Its crazy the lengths we gotta go to so that we can get some damn peace n quiet in our minds haha
I also find going for a run/walk helps me clear my mind and get clarity over an idea or solution.
Walking is the cheat code!
Touché! ;-)

let me know how you go bro!
Great vid.
thank you!
No phone since 4 days here... LOVING IT.
we are doing it!
Digital detoxes have been one of the best things I’ve done recently 💛
amen!
we need a full fb ads breakdown. Copy, to creatives... why you include certain stuff... all of it. The value would be insane!
yeah that's a great idea!
I dabble with monochrome filter. Lasts between 6 and 8 hours. Then this ecom soup noti hits and I have to turn colour back on.
haha i tried all the hacks in the book too... but I'm weak.

Thanks man, no but I need to start tagging the artists because now the videos get more than 17 views lol
@@EcomSoup lol yes please tag the songs!! love your content, and would be great if you make some longer vids too! thx
Great last question 💪
This helped. Need mental clarity
Glad to hear it!
As I’m watching this on my phone
haha touche'
I found the biggest culprit is apps with feed like social media, youtube etc. Feed is the main enemy.
Amen!
i recommend using the unhook add-on for youtube on your computer and delete youtube on your phone
Dis good
That's see 10k subs by the end of this month😝
damn that would be insane

doesn't sound weird, sounds like a blessing lol
so you just sit in silence all day?
@@EcomSoup not really. I just feel like I don’t think like an entrepreneur.. no in depth thoughts. Basically just very surface level stuff
Time for a flip phone
I got a nokia but im ditching that too lol

I tend to agree with you on this one. But I think for some people it's just worth tasting life on the other side. Thanks for watching
