I think this scene shows really well why Zoro decided to stay with Luffy. He supported his dream of becoming the best swordsman but (maybe) even more important Luffy was a friend to Zoro who seemingly didn´t have one since Kuina.
right!! even sadder assuming johnny and yosaku never met zoro (or even existed) in the LA, he has gone a long time without a companion

I'm positively surprised how the adaptation doesn't try too hard to be like the Anime but still captures the essence of the caracters... like Luffy jumping onto Zoro feels exactly like the Anime Luffy ❤
Or when Usopp runs from the fish man. Loved that they attempt to capture parts of the anime
I LOVED this scene. Everything i love about Luffy and Zoro's dynamic and relationship. It's slightly different, but still so beautiful 😭
“So bring on the marines or pirates or sea beasts. You’re my captain Luffy and I’m your first mate” 🥹 god damn Makenyu and Inaki kill this scene. No scene can better showcase the unwavering loyalty these two have for each other, just awesome
This one scene only is enough to prove that Zoro is Luffy’s best and most loyal friend , both of them have an unbroken bond.
Their friendship is so powerfull that it can make even 40 and 50 year old man cry.
I love Luffy forcing a smile trying to stay upbeat but then it slowly slips. Inaki absolutely killed it as Luffy and im so excited to see more of this.
Also I like to think Zoro was never in actual danger, boy was just tired.
The best part is that he's actually feeling more realistic than Luffy.... less simple than Luffy..... but still feels like Luffy....
Luffy wouldn't go to the bedside and speak like that in the anime/manga... he wouldn't be so gentle... and he wouldn't make those kinda expressions....
So this version is it's own Luffy.... yet it still feels like Luffy.....
Luffy gives such little brother energy and I live for it.

Actually manga and anime fans arguing about zoro being vice captain or not .. because zoro being luffy's right hand man is already confirmed in the series but him being a vice captain is not confirmed yet
even if they hate zoro and wont accept that he is the first mate..just think of someone who is the first one to join luffy and that is undoubtly zoro..in maritime rules when the captain is not around the second in command is the first officer or they call it chiefmate (firstmate) ..in maritime rules first mate is a vice captain

They really captured Zoro's newfound loyalty to Luffy because this is what Zoro is all about. He is very loyal to his captain no matter how idiotic Luffy is.

This is my favorite scene in the series and I was surprised when Zoro spoke I was very happy I thought he had really died but he didn't, he survived.
Is this your first time experiencing One Piece? It would not have made sense if Zoro did not survive regardless.

I like how they don’t have Zoro come to his decision to officially join the crew until episode 6 instead of after the Romance Dawn arc in the manga/anime.

I rarely fist pump watching shows, but Zoros words to Loofy..inspirational. Definitely a little teary eyed.
Zoro found a man whom wholeheartedly supported his dream to become the world's best swordsman. No wonder he chose to follow him.
I remember watching One Piece when I was a kid back in the early 00’s, it was the lousy 4kids dub but it was my introduction to the series. Then I stopped watching the series for a while and then it got so long I couldn’t even begin to think about watching it. But this live action has definitely been a blast to watch. It’s like I’m a kid again watching this series. It’s been so addicting to watch. I’m glad this series was done with justice. Not going to lie I strongly had my doubts about it. Glad I was wrong.

The guy who played live action Zoro also played Scar in the alive action full metal alchemist
He also played the main antagonist in the final Ruronin Kenshin film.
He's also the son of Sonny Chiba, who was a famous martial artist and actor (mostly famous in Japan but also played Hattori Hanzo in Kill Bill). Apparently Mackenyu is pretty famous in Japan in general and has done modelling.

As a One Piece fan I watched this expecting, at best, something respectful and funny, targeted for people that don't know the source material, and at worst... Well, another Cowboy Bebop. Then, I find myself rewatching scenes from s1 of the live action, months later, getting goosebumps.

I only started watching One Piece live because of the hype I've seen on social media about the actor playing Zoro. I just saw some anime clips of Zoro and I noticed he got only one eye open. Does that mean we're gonna expect a one eye-Zoro in live? It's sad, that's like minus one beautiful view. Haha
After the time skip he presumably loses an eye - they don't say anything about it or acknowledge it in the anime to tell you how it happened, but I think the idea is he lost it while training. Who knows though, he could be purposefully keeping it closed cause of some sharingan-like power for all we know.
Yes we will see one eyed zoro soon ,, some Sources say that when zoro was coming to sabody archipelago after his 2 years training he got lost and ended up in naruto verse where he somehow meet kakashi who helped him to unlock his sharingan but he got lost in naruto verse as well and ended up in a ship in sabody archipelago
