I was lucky to have been actually directed by Barty and sing Shenandoah whilhe directed it. I became a Yale Glee Club member in Bartys last year as director Jim Martin. Yale 1955
This is a great arrangement for men. A bit embarrassing the Harvard Glee Club was still all men in 2014. (I sang this arrangement with the Yale Glee Club in the mid-80s, but it was the only all men arrangement we did, and there was a corresponding all women piece sung as well.)
@@carmenionescu1950 Reading comprehension isn’t your thing, is it? I’ve sung plenty of all-men works in my life, even this arrangement with the men of the (co-ed) Yale Glee Club, way back in the 1980s. What should be embarrassing, to anybody associated with Harvard, is that the Harvard Glee Club knuckled to rich male alumni to preserve the all-male sound of the Harvard Glee Club for forty years after Harvard went coed.
Bartholomew´s arrangement of Shenandoah is the best ! Nicely minimal and easy to follow, yet beautiful !

As there must always be room for SSAA, there must never come an end to the lushness of TTBB choral arts. Sorry you feel ashamed.
