Those truck drivers were the best, oh my gosh. I can't get over how friendly, helpful, and welcoming all the people are in this Chinese series. It makes me want to visit so bad and you're painting China in the most positive light ever, without even trying. Completely opposite portrayal that the media here in the States does. I've been loving these videos so much.

In the past, train tickets in China were purchased openly, but some people hoarded them and resold them at high prices, causing many people to be unable to buy tickets during holidays. Therefore, the regulation of real name ticket purchase was introduced, using ID cards to buy tickets, passports to buy tickets, checking tickets before boarding, not only for train tickets, but also for other tickets such as tourist attractions. It is normal that filming is not allowed inside the train, and passengers in the train also need privacy. If the police's goodwill assistance and anti resale ticket sales methods are called surveillance, So the ability of Westerners to maliciously conjecture is really impressive.
In addition, many Western media outlets pretend to be tourists visiting Xinjiang and receive good help from many people, but instead edit the videos they shoot and spread rumors to smear Xinjiang. Who knows what the purpose of a Westerner who doesn't speak Chinese is for filming everywhere in Xinjiang, and it is understandable to ban filming, this is all caused by Westerners themselves, isn't it?

Also, next time you hitchhike, you could consider giving the drivers some U.S. dollars or British pounds, like 5 or 10. Although the amount isn’t much, the novelty of receiving foreign currency can make them even happier than receiving higher-value Chinese yuan, as it holds a special meaning.

The U.S. used to be like that too. I hitchhiked across the country a few times going to Grateful Dead shows in the late 70’s to early 80’s. Nothing but good times and great people. The end of the beat American experience. That’s all changed now that I’m living in a low trust society with hardly any common culture. I know exactly how you feel and why you’re doing it. Good on you lad. I’m a geezer on the outside now. Not so much in my mind.

When the truck driver, namely Zhang Xin Liang, told you his name, he said (gong chang zhang), he was trying to tell you how to write his name in Chinese character 😂😂😂

Thank you for posting this video about my hometown Xinjiang. A beautiful place and great people. I wish everyone could go and travel there to see what a place it actually is by yourself.

Haha I think the security staff at the beginning of the video saw your camera light. She asked, “eh? What is this reddish thing?”
