So I just did this using this guide today and it worked perfectly! Using a dremel with a cut off to cut the inner ring of the valve cover tube seal in segments helps it come out easier. Just make sure to go slow so you don’t put to much pressure. I found using a needle nose plier after making the cuts and twisting around in a rolling motion helps

yo i think the spark plug tube seal fix is a good idea. if you check later down the line and its leaking you can just get new valve covers which would have been the solution anyway. nothing lost to try aside from a little time. its been cool to see this whole series of you bringing the g35 back to life. hope that bug leaves on his own haha.

    Hey Buddy~
Your thinking OUTSIDE of the box is awesome - That's a great way of thinking.
Since your video's a few years old now, how did it hold up in your motor ?
If you had to do that gasket thing over again would you advise changing anything ?
Maybe one of your viewers know's about a different vehicle in existence that uses the same diameter seal except taller , that could possibly eliminate the need of using rtv to stack 2 seals together ?
It would be nice to see someone who makes small parts with a 3D printer start spitting these thing's out at a custom size , but made out of some really badass heat resistant neoprene / rubber material or something similar.
Sell the shit outta of em.
    (( Just a thought ))
I need to do this repair on my 2004 G35 as well , thats why im curious about a how your idea worked out.
Thanks again for taking the time to make this video.

GREAT!! so i decide to change valve covers by myself and i do the left one first, finished barely no issues.. then as I'm taking the last one of the bolts on the right side. it snaps and it's stuck inside the hole.. FML!!! now i gotta take the car to a mechanic... worst part is if i would of looked inside the spark plugs tube. i would of noticed that after i cleaned it a few months ago and changed the spark plugs. their wasn't no oil in there and i didn't need to change the valve cover..... SMFH

This literally is a horrible solution. If you're cheap then it probably works for some period of time but considering there is nothing pushing up on one of the tube seals and there is nothing actually surrounding that tube seal on the valve cover, other than silicone and hopes and dreams there's no way to prevent the seal long term from sliding down the spark plug tube and then just not sealing any longer
