In order to fix that issue, you need to replace the entire valve cover assembly. I recommend going to Z1 because they have replaceable spark plug gaskets for in the future, but the original doesn't have replaceable gaskets. Good luck!
Thanks @@mysterygarageCA - I think I may try to tackle it myself. Maybe learn a few things since I need to replace the valve covers (found oil in #4 & #5 plug holes when I did a tune up last weekend)
question, got the car off a random n he replaced the valve gasket cover he said n now it won’t start, there’s crank but no spark, do you know what could be the issue? i’m assuming it’s the spark plugs but im not sure it was running before he replaced it
There are grounds no top front of intake, if you don’t bolts those ground wires up it won’t start. They come from harnes, just ground those wires and it should start.
2 things that puzzles me… O ring for the cam sensor??? And, plug well seals???? I mean the owner will be replacing sensors and valve covers soon after this bandaid…Another expense of labor redoing exactly what you did here 🥸 Hmmm
It’s been a year and no leaks. Some bandaids work for years if you know what your doing. But you’re right, in reality you’re suppose to replace both valve covers and both sensors but I doubt people are willing to spend like 1k for that.
Cat scared tf out of me lol
LMFAOO Sameeee
Aww little cat
Thanks for sharing, not too many videos out there on the M35. You can skip the music in the next one. :-)
Hello. Can someone please confirm if the VQ25DE uses the same size rocker valve covers? Thank you.
They are the same size but have different ports.
Would this stop oil from getting into my spark plug well??
I don’t think so.

Here where?
anyone know how much this would cost labor wise? I'm trying to decide if I want to diy it
I would say anywhere from 350 to 400 parts and labor

@@synaptik111 just make sure the gasket stays in the valve cove when you install it, the tend to move or fall out of place.
Can a pretty bad valve cover gasket cause smoking?
Yes
and smelling like like burnt oil too😢😢😢
Yess!! Mine right now!!

The only prob VQ's have are, valve cover gaskets, cam an crank sensors! 👏👍😎
I agree!!!
Hello, the lids have some level of tightening, or only by hand with your own strength.?
I do it by hand but if I’m not mistaken it should be anywhere from 18 to 21 ft lb.
The car was missing the upper manifold gasket
Was it?
What type of rtv did you use, was it like a quick dry or something?
Permatex gasket maker
This would be my problem is I’m smelll oil through my vents ???
Might be coolant
Should have replaced that intake gasket as well.
Yes but customer was on a budget and decided not to.
How much is average charge for this
Not sure! A good 300 with parts. Depends where you take it.
Could you send me the link of where you bought the parts? And how much do estimate the cost of labor for this?
Autozone or ebay
Thank you
How much did you charge for that?
I don’t remember but a good 300 parts and labor.
@Mystery Garage ok thank you!
Why did you change your valve cover? Was there a problem?
It was leaking oil
@@mysterygarageCA you know what symptoms will it be if oil is on the spark plugs?
@@ricardomcintosh7004 most likely a missfire, car is going to be shaking and loss of power.
@@mysterygarageCA yep probably thats my problem then
Excellent Job!!!
Thank you!
Excellent work sir 🔥
Thank you!
This was good useful information, now I know what to charge my customer thanks.
How much time did the job took in total
No more than 3hrs
@mysterygarageCA if nothing goes wrong
The job is a lot easier and faster with a separate pair of hands lol tell me if I’m wrong
Yup
