Charlie Watts' drum fills and shuffling are so GOOD!
He and bassist, Bill Wyman are so underrated.
Wow, early 'Stones'. It's been a long time since I last heard this. So many memories...
1964... I just turned 10 years old when this song hit the radio. This was the Stones' first #1 hit in England. New York disc jockey Murray the K gave The Stones a copy of The Valentinos' version and suggested they record it. Murray was important enough to have the ear of The Rolling Stones and even The Beatles. Just like the Beatles the variety of music produced by T.R.S. was often something rather surprising to their fans over the years. Another Fine Choice and Reaction.
I used to listen to Murray the K too on 1010 WINS radio. Didn't know he suggested they record this, a good choice for them.
21 September 1989 Syracuse Carrier Dome 73,828 screaming fans. After the show walk out into a light rain turning the place into the Biggest WET T-SHIRT show I've ever seen, many with the Stones Tongue Logo looking like it was licking the Ladies. Great Memories from concerts are some of the best.
un titre magnifique, la grande époque !....
Very Rockabilly sounding tune, if you ask me... I loved it ✅✅✅
The original version of this song is an R&B number by Bobby and Shirley Womack.
Love Rollin stones
great album!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is the first record I bought as a kid---a 45. Just loved the singing and the hard rock-like guitar.
Damn I love this song, I am a huge Stones fan and this is one of their better early songs.🔥🔥🔥✌️😎🎶
Because I used to love her, but is all over now
Playing a bit of catch up with your reactions today. Always enjoyable 😊
You're hearing all different styles because you're listening to different times. This one, for example, came out around 1964, so it's different from the 70s and from the 80s and so on. As they develop, their music, of course, changes and also the times and what works in one era may be different in the next .
Dude, not country these British groups heavily influenced by rythum and blues 💙 birth of Rock n roll
"Waiting on a Friend" by The Rolling Stones is a must react to.
Like a lot of English bands back then they were heavily influenced by Black American blues. From there they added there own seasonings and produced some of the most iconic music of all times! The Stones first four or five albums were heavily influenced by the blues but for my husband by the mid 70s he kinda of lost his initial zest for them even though he saw them several times. His favorite album by them is "12 x 5" meaning 12 tracks by the 5 members, great bluesy album!
Molly Hatchet does a nice cover of this song- Southern Rock style
Yes! I love their rendition.
Yep. He said half-assed not high class. If you want your mind blown by them "2000 Light Years From Home" and "Backstreet Girl" would be a very nice change of pace.
Would love to see you do a reaction to "Gimme Some Lovin'" by the Spencer Davis Group featuring Stevie Winwood.
If I remember correctly, this side was an old Blues number!
The black dude that wrote the song was said to have been not too happy about the Stones doing his song, but changed his mind when the royalty checks started pour in.
Thanks for the great Reaction!
Out of time and play with fire
It's sad having someone think this sounds country. Usually, any time there is an acoustic guitar, some newbies think the song sounds country. I don't get it at all on this track. This is early '60s, R and B inspired, raunchy Rock and Roll!
Not folk music, far from it back in the day. Rockin Bad Boys
