- This is the first song I've put up from the Bangladesh recreation at BB King, NYC 2008. As said in the video, the guitar solo is ass-kicking, and so is the bass line, which John Montagna is playing WHILE SINGING! Don't miss this years (2009) Bangladesh performance!
At the bass line:
In a 1987 interview for Creem magazine, Harrison recalled that he was the bass guitarist on the track, rather than McCartney. When the interviewer, J. Kordosh, suggested that the bass part "sounds like McCartney was going nuts again", Harrison replied: "That was me going nuts. I’m doing [on the bass] exactly what I do on the guitar."
It really does sound like George.

I'm pretty floored that this Montagna dude plays the rollicking bass lines so perfect all while he doesn't miss a note singing! A great Beatles song done it's due justice here. The energy is as if it was totally fresh.

That’s because the song wasn’t done with a bass..it was a tracked lead guitar with the bass cranked to the moon. On a tele I want to say.

@@PC4USE1 George Harrison recorded the bass on this one. You can check the take #2, only 3 Beatles: John on piano, George on bass, Paul on drums. Ringo was away still filming the Magic Christian w Peter Sellers. They recorded the song that very same day
@@Solomongrundy68no, it’s George on piano, Paul on guitar and Ringo on drums. There’s a fill in there that’s exactly the same as Tell Me Why. It’s almost a fingerprint match.
The BEST cover of this George classic l have ever heard!! Bar none. This is my favorite George (Beatle) song, ever!!
The level of concentration required to get through that song without a mistake is extreme. As a bass player/vocalist, I used to beat myself up with it all the time! Finding other players who play on that level ain't easy. George played bass and vocals, but the parts were recorded separately. I believe McCartney was on piano. Playing this tune live consistently is very difficult. Fabulous performance.

Fantastic job guys . It’s come out recently that Paul played drums on this track rather than Ringo. Ringo was away filming magic Christian in April 1969.
