Hey I'm the guy who hopped on the organ. I can vouch that it wasn't staged. Periodically he would have guest organ players come in and play and sometime the piano player would try to get on the organ, but was really just a piano player. So what it was, was a couple of the PIANO musicians on hand to play during different parts of the service and occasionally they would hop on the organ, so they always kept it on.

Thank you for that video. It reminds me of the power of music. It is a sad commentary that there are great cathedrals and edifices of worship all over this nation full of not only empty choir stands and pews. So these instruments sat unused. So often when I travel I find instruments in places that any musician would dream of having. Just like in this video, most musicians don't announce their presence because sometime you just want to rest and be in the pews. I am a musician by default. I started standing in the gap for the gifted while they were deployed. Now, my playing is more a ministry to myself but I share because I know that the atmosphere needs it. Be blessed!

This brought tears to my eyes. Everything happens at the right time. When my godsons were being committed to the Lord, my husband and I went to a packed church in a small town that had a wonderful choir but no musician. I asked my godson's grandmother if the church would mind if I played for the choir. She almost pushed me out of my seat. I played during the remainder of the service. In a town where I barely know anyone, there's a lot of people that know me now. I was just glad to help.

Great Job Jamal. People don't know how hard it is to improvise and cover a person you never play for. I'm still learning how to play and to be a professional like you is not only a gift. Again well done and the words that were spoken hit home and make me want to work harder and learn the organ. Hope one day I will upload a video covering someone. I did perform at the hospital I used to work at. The visitor, patient and staff loved it. Give me a standing ovation. It was nice to perform for them I felt very blessed. I don't play very well but they appreciated what I did. To do what you did , I hope I will achieve that level of play.

It is a small community college in New Jersey. My teacher is awesome. She is a graduate of Julliard with a masters in music performance. You know she is God sent, and so were you. So that's how I know that this is what I am suppose to be doing. This is my purpose for God's Kingdom. Thanks for the encouraging words. I will most certainly keep you posted. I certainly don't get into verbal battles over the Word and I'm so glad that you came straight with the Word because that's EXACTLY I was thinking. I enjoyed this video, then I messed up and had to read the comments. The service was enhanced by the musician. Can that be enough ever? Why critique something this is not an exhibition. Music, is sacred divine. If you are a Christian and believe the bible you will know that music came from heaven. It will do what it will we do, just like the Word. People act likes its sinful to have emotions. Why would you want an unemotional experience? People quick to say we don't need no music. I guess you need to let God know his creation is an afterthought. I say musicians have a charge to set the atmosphere. Don't let anyone belittle your gifting or think that you can't be a blessing. The church is a 5 fold ministry. Not every church has all the ministries in action at once, but that is the way it should be. when all are active, the body is edified. The trumpets that leveled the walls of Jericho may not have been played by masterful musicians in your opinion, but they were played by willing musicians. SO YES, music is very important to God, obviously, so keep on encouraging one another. According to the bible, Satan was the chief musician and when he was cast out he was given dominion over the air, the atmosphere. what better place to do battle than in the atmosphere. MUSICIANS keep setting the atmosphere

Jamal, how long have you been playing? I just started back to school to receive my music degree. People like you inspire me to do so. I have procrastinated long enough. I have raised a family, and it is me time now. I have been playing since I was 8 yrs old. I do not know how to read music. So that is my reason for going back so that I can learn to read music. Wish me luck, I have not been to school in over 33 yrs.

Music is a *vehicle* and/or *vessel* for the holy spirit. Some preachers can get by without music, but that's not always the case especially when the preacher does not sing.
Jamal this video never gets old man......a few questions for you, what happened to that ministry or this particular pastor? Did you end up playing for them for a while? The band didn't have an organist at the time?

Well, consider II Kings 3:15 when Elisha called for a musician. If you read the verses before it, you'll see that he had a little attitude, but once the musician played, "the hand of the Lord came upon him."
It's not about getting a reaction from the people. Believe it or not, musicians can help the minister to minister and the people to recieve it. The connection, therefore, is between music and spirit.
