I'm a working keyboardist. Not only is this individual a brilliant organist, his command of music theory is outstanding. Mad respect.
We appreciate that!
Thanks, this is great for me! I just need some really beginning stuff to help me switch over from piano to organ. This was perfect for me! More tips like this would be awesome.

So all the stuff I love about gospel piano playing comes from organ! So interesting, glad I got a clonewheel
thanks man good info. I'm learning organ. Been on piano for a minute.
awesome!
thanks, that was awesome. I have been playing piano for forty years, but still the feeling of the Hammond is not natural to me. I appreciated your clear the steps.
I'm the opposite, playing organs/keyboards for 40 years+ with difficulty playing piano.

@@luckyvet how? The piano is soooooooooooo much less of a hassle
@@lutheranmartintheking4297 The weighted keys can be a challenge to organ and synth players. Plus piano usually needs more notes to sound good so they might not be used to that.
Pianist use also the first technique named legato
"Tip 3: Voice leading"
Me: okay, the first two names made sense and I learned from those
*explains voice leading*
Me: wait I do that on every instrument I play.
Wow
Thank you I’m now on organ from piano
The voice leading part as you Mentone would actually be called inner voice movements :)
HAMMOND XK serie is fabulous with a real Leslie (122, 147 or 760). It's the B3 sound at 99,99%.
I try playing both ...... has me a bit confused but hey I like the challenge. During day service I play the organ then the piano in the evening. I have to admit the piano is much better sound and easier. I just can’t seem to get the right sound on that organ. I’m a newbie
Thanks a million. I fear a Hammond lol. but I do have a Monster B3 sound I use. sweet!!!!
Hi Gospel U ! Nice video thanks, what is the D progression you played called? Is that a walkup and useful in all keys? I have the same keyboard and am just learning to play so had to slow your video down with the RUclips setting wheel.
Hey Great Lesson I have a question: is it better to learn on a organ with 4 sets of drawbars or 2 sets of drawbars because I am thinking about either buying a b3 or a Hammond A405 for my church
Go with the b3
3:15 The grace note!
Vaughn l need help with this progression I play the chording backward with my right hand with the aflat on top and walk the Dflat up all in one hand what can I add in my left to fill it out

Good lesson, please teach different modulation ideas, also when Praise's are sung, when they reach climax where instruments are played people dancing there are chords I hear crying .I don't know they are tritone's or what.do a lesson
Hi - Looks like the website is down.
yea! I sent an email out..we had a problem with our servers..we are getting them back online tomorrow or wednesday
hey the website is back up!
Everyone has their own style of playing what works for one person may not work for another be original
Now I'm more confused..........
I learned the organ first and want to switch to piano🤦🏿♂️
Just spam sustain pedal and spam vi-iv-V-I with embellishments
@@user-wc6pw8oh6v Are you joking or fr cuz there's a lot more to it. Also you just insulted the piano gang.
@@artemtsarevskiy2785 There's not a lot more to it, at least in 70% cases. For classical just give up trying to understand it and play from sheet music and for jazz it ii-V-I in most complicated chords you can find but usually just 7th. And don't forget chromatic nonsense and never using the sustain pedal. Also swing
@@user-wc6pw8oh6v I mean whatever works xD
Lol.... the piano is just less of a hassle to play

Honestly Von, it would be more helpful if you add the highlighted keys and notes to your screen. I have to rewind and pause the video too much to see what notes your playing because your hand gets in the way. it’s time consuming and discouraging.
Can you add it to the videos?
