Awesome information! I've been wondering about these settings for decades. Now I know. I can't wait to use these on Sunday! Thank you for sharing this information. God Bless.
Hey man please keep the video coming. I've been looking for someone to mentor me on organ and I'm learning everything you got up here so please don't stop with the lessons. You are doing me and other keyboardist a HUGE favor man.
Ohhhh... I LIKED that playin'! I think my favorite was the "talk" settings. I could listen to that all day. I'll have to see if you have such videos here on YT. Thanks, and keep on praisin'!
Thank you, thank you, thank you! This is just what I have been looking for. I just got a Nord keyboard with drawbars, and I had no idea how to set/use them. This will be so helpful. God bless!!
YOu nailed my basic setup with a few minor changes. ie the bass set up instead of 8888 I do 8688. I Love the preachinging setup instead of full drawbars cant wait to use it Sunday. and the Solo organ. Thanks again now let me check out the website.
I’m curious if thru any of these examples, were you also playing the foot pedals? It seemed as though you weren’t only playing left hand bass, when I heard bass notes. One of my favorite settings is 6886 000 04, which I use for Latin Rock on the upper manual, w/ the right hand.
I always wanted to play the organ at church but I never get the chance to as a kid because I have churches with strict pastors who tell you to "get off the organ" or they have a sign on their saying "organists only, don't touch." I fell in love with the Hammond ever since I was a kid
That A flat at the end tho 😂. Nah but seriously. Thanks for that. I'm still getting used to the drawbar settings and this definitely helped me understand it better.
great video. I have a million dollar question for you. First, my organ playing is more designed for singular instrument playing So can you tell me what set up do they use during recordings on cd's wheras the organ is not the dominate instrument and has the lighter feel? Thanks my set ups are too harsh when playing with a piano player and actual bass player
I was was trained in mid-1960's by my father, Joseph W. Hemingway I, and Alfred Bolden. By age seven, I mastered the theory of the Hammond RT-3 model...
Von, hopefully I spelled the name correctly? lol. I noticed that you are from Massachusetts? I am no longer there but I grew up in a town called Brockton. I just came across your videos this past weekend and do really appreciate what you are doing. Specifically, how you call out chords by individually calling the notes. This method is key and vital in helping those musicians who are not knowledgable of the specific names of the chords. I wanted to ask, could you do a video on that opening and closing backround music you have? That groove is very smooth. Keep doing what you are doing. You are one of very few musicians who are out here on youtube taking the time to actually play a song through and then turn around and break down the entire song not just with simple chords, but chords that will have you sounding like a seasoned musician. Keep up the good work. Regards, Jonathan
Preciate the video i learn alot from this vid but can u show us the drawbar settings to the nice mellow sound in the song "All Night All Day" (Rev Clay Evans)
