Jay Black, specifically. He and Roy were friends, and Jay tells a story about him saying to Roy, "I sound like you", and Roy replied "No, I sound like you". Jay often opens and closes his shows with Roy's songs as a tribute to Roy. My favorite is "Running Scared", of which there are three different Jay Black versions on RUclips. Search for dunepaul9999 to find them.
He didn't start wearing glasses until the peak of his career In 1963, in 1964 he had his final 2 big hits of the 60s and his record sales then started declining, so he didn't wear glasses for the majority of his big hits. His earlier releases album sleeves contained no actual photos of him, and it was only reissues of earlier big hits that contained later photos of him wearing glasses that established him as a man with black hair who wore dark glasses, which is strange to have a complete image change 3 years after being established as a major pop star.

When touring in Europe (The Beatles were HIS opening act) he forgot his prescription glasses on the plane. All he had were his prescription sun glasses and was forced to were them, which became a trademark! Roy had poor vision though and was not comfortable performing "blind" without corrective lenses. Just FYI

Well, when you are adicted to see someone always looking the same and after something changes and that person looks different, it causes some excitement, and in case of Roy, he aways weared glasses, and now that he didn´t use just for one time, it makes suspanse....For me is very normal, but is always nice to make make that reference here, to catch the attention to people. @csnu5 Well, people in this time, dressed very classic and have no difference with an old dress person with a young dress, and it´s hard to distingue....Well, the record colour wasn´t the best too, and everything helps, cause I have some pictures in this tim from him and they have much better quality and they are coloured.... :D
