It was in Las Vegas, though, that Roy Orbison and Elvis Presley met for the last time. One night in December 1976, Orbison was closing his show at Caesar's Palace, when Presley suddenly came on stage. Elvis announced to the crowd that Roy Orbison was “quite simply, the greatest singer in the world.”

For some reason, this tune has been stuck in my psyche for at least a week, and so I am learning it on guitar.

Although I do like some of Green Day, mostly Wake Me When September Ends. I, also, like the Big Band era, especially Glenn Miller. And old, old country music like the Carter Family.

Absolutely one ofof the best versions of this great song by the ultimate singer that has ever lived. I saw Roy 4 months before his death in 1088 in Austin, Texas. The hair on the back of my neck shot straight up when he hit those unreal notes. When you hear a Roy Orbison song, you know immediately who is singing. Very few singers have ever had that ability. Roy was one of my favorite singers, I never was an Elvis fan...,
I loved Rickie Nelson. We lost them both way too soon.

The intricacies and vibrato of his voice are brilliant and and yet understated. I can't explain how much I love it!!!!! I may have listened to that brilliant little bit at :35 about 15 times.

On this day in 1964 {October 11th} Roy Orbison performed "Oh, Pretty Woman" on the CBS-TV program 'The Ed Sullivan Show'...
Two months earlier on August 29th it entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart; and on Sept. 26th it peaked at #1 {for 3 weeks} & spent 15 weeks on the Top 100...
Connie Francis also appeared on the show, and 14 years later in 1978 she recorded the song in English & German, but re-titled it as "Lovin' Man"...
    RIP Mr. Sullivan {1901 - 1974} and Mr. Orbison {1936 - 1988}...

Infelizmente não nasci nessa época, mas eu curto muito esse som! A vibe dessa música é demais, assim como tantas outras da mesma época... Bons tempos que não volta mais 😓🇧🇷🎧
