I was a WRAAF in the Airforce in Adelaide when I saw him perform. A group of us got together and saw his show. He could hold the audience in the palm of his hand. A Legend!
In 1963, I saw Roy perform at Vestavia Country Club at a Frat Party after the Auburn/Alabama football game. I couldn’t believe it was him on a party room stage. I was up front. He was unbelievable. No studio enhancements. Just pure Roy. I’ll never forget his expressionless face and the sound that came out of his voice. He stood there, expressionless and hit notes that only most people could dream of. He was unbelievable on a tiny Country Club stage with a third-rate audio system. But, he was great and something I will take to my grave.

A Black & White Night is the greatest Roy Orbison concert there is. My favorite story is when George Harrison and Tom Petty both stopped when they were recording and just looked at Roy in awe. It was amazing that two superstars were fanboying over Roy. I know I would have done the same.
