Sponsored videos like these have a ridiculous set of guidelines that need to be followed and often insist on very specific points being hit (the first 30 seconds is basically the ad read with all of their value propositions) and usually insist on reviewing the content before agreeing to payment. I imagine they would have blocked payment if the counterfeiting had been directly addressed. That said, I'll refrain from commenting on the ethics of agreeing to this sponsorship in the first place. If you want to see the BS that is involved in these types of deals checked out the video "Fact Fiend Focus | How Not To Do Business - Part 4" which dissects the utter scumbaggery that is the contract for a raid shadow legends video sponsorship.

This is not an effective video about model kits. Tell me about the kits. Is the plastic good? Is it just like Bandai HG? How’s the build? Are there differences between official HG Kampfer or HG Wing and these models?
No. The plastic is likely garbage, or mostly ABS instead of the PS that we see in Bandai model equivalents. All these are bootlegs that use the same plastic molds that Gunpla use, but with garbage plastic injection… these are the types of kits that you’re actually warned to look out when buying online second hand, so you don’t get SCAMMED.
For instance a common problem with Daban, (an actually semi-reputable Bootleg company when compared to these random Chinese companies that are shown here) is that the plastic used on their kits is fragile and easily broken.

Official Bandai photos of their painted HGUC kit that this bootleg just printed on their box is in no way representative of the contents lmao. Come on dude. This just sucks in every way. This video is a very good one because with it we can see the crapy quality we can expect from temu. Thank you for solidifying my decision of staying clear from them 😌
I would caution about buying any products from Temu, as there are serious ethical concerns about where the products come from, much more than any other bootlegs.
Some of the comments I find to be a bit harsh but overall, I agree this felt lacking. If you're going to do sponsorships at least review the kits involved.
Hey man, your videos are one of the main things that convinced me to get into this hobby, but I gotta say, this is embarrassing for you. Taking a Temu sponsorship by itself isn't the issue. I also don't particularly mind that all of these are obvious 1 to 1 knock offs, and not "inspired by" like the Judge is. You're a content creator, you need sponsorships, get that bag! but you are a REVIEWER. You cannot review a product you were paid to endorse. It's ridiculous seeing you just showing box contents, not saying anything about them, then showing a 1 minute timelapse of building 1 model, and not saying ANYTHING about the things people want to know and the things you usually take the majority of a video saying: 1. How is the articulation? 2. How is the building experience? Are the parts tight? loose? 3. How does the plastic feel? 4. Is the end result flimsy? solid and posable? 5. Why did you not mention that the box obviously lies about the contents, since it shows grandpa colors but the actual colors are completely different? The end result is so obviously a cheap plastic waste of money, yet all you can say is "look at these shots of one pose I put the model in and decide for yourselves!" Your platform is built on good will and trust from your audience, and you just cashed all of it in for some money. Seriously, bad form, and shameful.
The building experience is a pain on some kits. The plastic feels cheaper. Parts that need work to fit, some parts even need glue if you dont want them flying off. Painted parts that smell like nail polish (opened the bag and put it in another room with the window open) Articulation on some is good others fall apart when just looking at it. From personal experience, its cheaper and it feels that way. If temu kits were the first i build i probably didnt stick with this hobby.
Srsly, this is a bad move. You are destroying your credibility (which a review channel literally lives on) when you prostitute yourself for temu. Let this be a warning for you, before more people unsubscribe..

Maybe if Bandai gave two fucks about Western gunpla content creators and threw them a bone one in awhile, they wouldn't have to. No, let's bankroll Nanogenix' white bread ass to shill Dokkan gambling to kids, but Gunpla creators who spend thousands on our flagship line? Fuck 'em.

Ah, yes, accept the sponsorship from a company known to not only bootleg items but also steal credit card info and spy on its users. Really outdoing yourself with this one. This is your worst video yet. Please try to remember that you can turn down sponsorships instead of shilling something that's a security risk.
The real problem is that Bandai should have a partner program that sends early access kits to popular gunpla channels for review. Since they don't so that there is also no loyalty to the brand, for this reason it is okay to accept sponsorship from other companies, the problem is that these kits are very low quality and it would have been better to see a video comparing the differences in quality etc to make it more informative.
"The real problem is that Bandai should have a partner program that sends early access kits to popular gunpla channels for review." false. they do, just that MG is not on the list. think about that for a second yeah?

very disappointed. As someone who got in to the hobby after months and years of watching your video, and as someone who is actively trying to grow my modelling skills, and started my own channel sharing my experience, I’m a little surprised if not disappointed by this endorsement. I’m not going to lie. I was tempted to pick these up myself. Especially some of the p Bandai copies like the GM spartan, Lfrith Jiu, and so forth. And I’d even go so far as to say to people who live in areas where p Bandai or Bandai products in general and other rare kits are not as accessible, please, by all means. Also, if u are doing kitbashing and just need some cheapo fodders, there u go. Even some of the cheap diorama items you introduced me in the video, I’d go and buy myself. I’m not a Bandai-purist or elitist by any means. Some of the more recent releases from Chinese model companies have been amazing, and I do plan on picking some of them up myself. BUT. 1. Let’s call them for what they are. Knock offs. Wing warrior? Did a part of u not die saying that on camera and not being able to call it what it is? 2. These items blatantly copy and disregard the intellectual properties of Bandai. I’m not saying Bandai should have all the monopoly in plastic model industry. But these are blatant carbon copy that hurts Bandai and its sales, which could hinder future R&D. You may think Bandai may not take the biggest hit from these knock offs, but really? As mentioned above, people have a variety of reasons they may purchase a knock off, but for someone as influential as you in the community, who is (or was) sponsored by HLJ, I wonder how necessary it was to take this kind of endorsement 3. Temu as a brand is linked to child slavery, and their shipments containing extreme levels of lead. They also often skirt around import customs, and have not answered to any of the accusations made above. Your tie to this brand is really a sore thumb that sticks out. But to watch you do this and make fool of everyone of ur audience who purchases the legitimate product and support our hobby, I’d say this is a mistake.

Honest opinion. MechaGaikotsu has to maintain a legitimate content source of authentic as well as third-party non-bootleg kits. This is to protect its identity and serve its long time audience. The video may or may not ridicule the bootleg kits, but it will give curiosity to viewers and thus may accidentally promote bootlegs to your audience. (and might turn off your existing sponsors also) Saying this on a non-purist point of view but as a regular audience of this channel. I believe the viewers will support third-party kits, but i think bootleg will be contrary to what your channel has live up to. Hope this criticism is received in a positive way. Looking forward to your future contents :)

Yeah this whole video is just disappointing.

It's ridiculous seeing you just showing box contents, not saying anything about them, then showing a 1 minute timelapse of building 1 model, and not saying ANYTHING about the things people want to know and the things you usually take the majority of a video saying:
The end result is so obviously a cheap plastic waste of money, yet all you can say is "look at these shots of one pose I put the model in and decide for yourselves!"
Your platform is built on good will and trust from your audience, and you just cashed all of it in for some money.
Seriously, bad form, and shameful.

very disappointed.
As mentioned above, people have a variety of reasons they may purchase a knock off, but for someone as influential as you in the community, who is (or was) sponsored by HLJ, I wonder how necessary it was to take this kind of endorsement
3. Temu as a brand is linked to child slavery, and their shipments containing extreme levels of lead. They also often skirt around import customs, and have not answered to any of the accusations made above. Your tie to this brand is really a sore thumb that sticks out.
Money is money, and I get that there’s definitely a large monetary gain to be had here.

(and might turn off your existing sponsors also)
Saying this on a non-purist point of view but as a regular audience of this channel. I believe the viewers will support third-party kits, but i think bootleg will be contrary to what your channel has live up to.
Hope this criticism is received in a positive way.
Looking forward to your future contents :)

I've wanted to get my hands on a zaku half cannon for a real long time now. I've seen temu & aliexpress advertise that they have that kit, but I know not to trust it. Imagine my disappointment when I see this video, with a bootleg zaku half cannon. If I was young and naïve this video would have made me pull the trigger on it. Disappointed to see you taking this sponsorship because a lot of impressionable people will trust you and buy kits from temu only to be sorely disappointed. Don't support shady companies man...
