Now I want to share one of our family favorites....Creamsicle pie You need: 3 ounces orange jello 2/3 boiling water 4 ounces cool whip 1 pint vanilla ice cream 1 Graham cracker pie crust Directions: Boil the 2/3 water, pour boiling water in bowl then stir in the orange jello. Next add in the ice cream and stir until smooth. Last blend in the cool whip. Place mixture in refrigerator for an half an hour. Then spoon into pie crust and place in freezer for 3 to 4 hours. Next enjoy!!! A great refreshing summer pie that taste like a Creamsicle!

I made this desert last night. I thought maybe missed a step because it was so sweet. It was too sweet as if some additional liquid needed to be added. I used the juice of the manderins. I believe I'll leave that out next time. Plus I wished it set up firmer. Family liked it. I will try it again.
I have made the same thing for years but I hold off putting the oranges and cool whip in until the cooked part is cold in the fridge. It’s much fluffier.
Deborah S I have a similar recipe. I don't have the whole directions. I was wondering if you don't put cool whip and oranges until other part jells. Will it still be smooth? I can't imagine putting coolwhip in the hot mixture? Just wondering since my recipe page got messed up years ago Thanks ♥️

This looks so good!!! My grandparents make a jello salad with any kind of jello, usually orange, slice carrots, pecans chopped up, grapes, I guess anything you would want to add. Just make how ever much jello, pour in a dish then add the extras. It's really good! One of those dishes when I see it other places always reminds me of them.

I love listening to you Jennifer. I love your good heart your storytelling your wisdom. The first video I came across of you was a simple cleaning one and I watched ever second of it! I’m 61 and was born in Scotland and after 27 years I came to the USA.I guess I’m a modern pioneer and like you it’s just in my DNA from working class Scots who worked in the mines etc. it’s true what you said the fear comes from the “what if’s”, the unknown as a little preparedness eases that! much love ❤️

I make a mandarin flummery, a very similar pudding. Apart from the jelly we don’t have the other packets or cool whip in Australia. Yours looks just as tangy and delicious. Thanks, Jennifer❣️
Your husband is ornery like mine. That looks delicious and I'm so glad to see that someone else uses wooden spoons for mixing things like Jello. I just think the wooden spoons do a much better job with those kinds of deserts. Have a great week. 😁👋💖

Here in the UK we don’t have Jello or Cool Whip…. But we do have Instant Whip or Angel Delight which you just mix with milk and comes out pretty similar! Butterscotch flavour is my favourite! 😋😋

I have made a similar version to this adding cottage cheese and whipping cream after it cooled. It’s not smooth but it’s dang good.
I have made your recipe twice. I have also other times changed the jello and fruit to strawberry, peach or pineapple. All were delicious .
